Patent number: 9993658Abstract: The present invention relates to light applicators, systems comprising light applicators, and methods for their use. One aspect of the invention provides a light applicator configured for contacting a portion of a subject's body surface and controllably applying light irradiation thereto. The light applicator comprises a housing, the housing comprising a treatment plate for contacting the portion of the subject's body surface and having one or more windows. One or more light emitters are disposed inside the light applicator and projecting toward the corresponding one or more windows of the treatment plate. A heat spreader plate is disposed inside the light applicator. One or more heat conducting members thermally connect the treatment plate to the heat spreader plate.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2013Date of Patent: June 12, 2018Assignee: YOLO Medical Inc.Inventors: Gregory Vincent Browne, James Elliott Cameron, Trevor Pleydell-Bouverie Malcolm Moat, Christian Terry Proch McMechan

Publication number: 20140379052Abstract: A lipolysis system comprises a laser applicator that contacts a subject's body surface and provides laser irradiation thereto in communication and cooperation with a laser control device. The laser applicator is controlled to provide low-power laser irradiation to a targeted portion of a subject's body surface for the purpose of liquefying fats in adipose cells in the subcutaneous region underlying the contacted portion of the body surface. A method for liquefying fats in a subject's adipose cells comprises contacting a portion of a subject's body surface with a laser applicator and controllably irradiating a target portion with laser wavelengths for a selected period of time. Laser applicators in one embodiment comprise low-power laser diodes having power outputs in the range of 10 mW to 100 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 1, 2014Publication date: December 25, 2014Applicant: YOLO MEDICAL INC.Inventors: Hyeon Seong Myeong, Anna Brazier

Patent number: 8771326Abstract: A lipolysis system configured for contacting and providing low-power laser irradiation to a plurality of targeted portions of a subject's body surface for the purpose of liquefying fats in subcutaneous regions underlying the targeted body surface portions, and methods for the use of the lipolysis system. The lipolysis system comprises: (a) a first laser applicator comprising a plurality of low-power laser diodes selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 100 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm, (b) a second laser applicator comprising at least one low-power laser diode selected for emission of power outputs in the range comprising about 10 mW to about 100 mW with light waves in the range of 635 nm to 680 nm, and (c)a laser control device configured for controllably communicating and cooperating with said first laser applicator and said second laser applicator.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2007Date of Patent: July 8, 2014Assignee: Yolo Medical Inc.Inventors: Hyeon Seong Myeong, Anna Brazier

Publication number: 20140142665Abstract: A light applicator configured for contacting a portion of a subject's body surface and applying light irradiation thereto for lipolysis of target tissue underlying the subject's body surface is provided. The light applicator includes: a substrate; a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs) arranged on the substrate. A beam divergence of each of the plurality of LEDs is in the range of 50 to 70 steridian. The plurality of LEDs is arranged such that their emitted light beams overlap during transmission to a target tissue underlying the subject's body surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2014Publication date: May 22, 2014Applicant: YOLO Medical Inc.Inventor: Bruce J. Patent number: 7959656Abstract: Provided is a lipolysis device using a low power laser, and more particularly, to a lipolysis device using a low power laser capable of non-invasively irradiating skin with a laser beam which may or may not be condensed through a lens or transparent window to obtain the same effect as lipolysis of adipose tissue exposed through incision using a conventional ultrasonic or low power laser. In addition, the lipolysis device includes a vacuum suction means to readily discharge liquefied fat discharged from an adipose cell and concentrated in a space between cell tissues through the groin area, where lymphatic vessels are abundant, and out of the body. Further the lipolysis device can stably contact human skin to break down fat and thus is convenient to use. Furthermore, the lipolysis device can break down subcutaneous fat by irradiating an abdominal region with a low power laser without skin damage or surgical operation, thereby effectively removing abdominal fat.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2006Date of Patent: June 14, 2011Assignee: YOLO Medical Inc.Inventors: Hyeon Seong Myeong, Chul Gyu Lee
