Patent number: 4206835Abstract: A flexible garment bag and a carrying case are constructed to enable their separable connection to one another so that the assembly may be carried as a compact unit. The garment bag comprises first and second panels of flexible material connected to one another at their edges, the first panel having a longitudinally extending opening provided with a closure. The carrying case comprises a bottom wall, side walls, end walls and a top wall, the top wall having a handle secured thereto. The carrying case has a length substantially equal to the width of the garment bag, and the garment bag has a length sufficient to substantially cover the bottom wall and the side walls of the carrying case in the assembled relationship of the garment bag and carrying case. Connector means is secured to the carrying case, and longitudinally spaced connector means are secured to the second panel to extend from each end of the garment bag for separable connection to the connector means secured to the carrying case.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1978Date of Patent: June 10, 1980Assignee: York Luggage CorporationInventor: Harry G. Patent number: 4170282Abstract: A flexible garment bag and a tote bag are constructed to enable their separable connection to one another so that the assembly may be carried as a compact unit. The garment bag comprises a pair of panels connected to one another at their edges, and the bag has a longitudinally extending opening provided with a closure. The tote bag has a length approximately equal to the width of the garment bag, and the garment bag has a length at least approximately equal to the circumference of the tote bag. Connector means is secured to a wall of the tote bag and connector means is secured to one panel of the garment bag for the separable connection of the garment bag and the tote bag. Longitudinally spaced cooperable connector means are secured to the opposite panel for separable connection to each other when the garment bag is wrapped around the tote bag, and means is provided by one of the bags to enable carrying the assembly.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 1978Date of Patent: October 9, 1979Assignee: York Luggage CorporationInventor: Marvin Schwartzstein

Patent number: 4128150Abstract: Expansible carrying case in which parallel side walls of the case may move apart by virtue of a simple gusset extending continuously along walls of the case that are transverse to the parallel side walls. Expansion of the gusset is limited by rows of stitching along each of the gusset folds. The gusset contracts automatically when the expanding pressure is relieved and remains contracted without requiring auxiliary fasteners.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1977Date of Patent: December 5, 1978Assignee: York Luggage CorporationInventors: Jerome L.
