  • Patent number: 5470516
Abstract: A method of molding a separable bottom stop assembly on a concealed slide fastener, including: forming a number of space portions devoid of fastener elements at predetermined intervals in a concealed slide fastener; impregnating molten synthetic resin in fastener tapes at areas around the space portion; heat-molding and hardening the tapes in such a manner that confronting edge portions of the tapes are turned over; cutting the tapes across the space portion; injection molding a second pin member of the separable bottom stop assembly on the edge portion of one tape and a first pin member of a box member on the edge portion of the other tape at the space portion, contiguously to the fastener elements; and attaching a box to the first pin member to complete the box member. The result is that a separable concealed slide fastener, which could not be put to practical use conventionally, can be manufactured simply.

  • Patent number: 5469605
Abstract: A slide fastener which permits easy attachment of electric conductors and ensures supply of electric current to all metallic coupling elements even if a part of the electric conductors is cut off. And it has a neat appearance because the electric conductors exposed in spaces among the coupling elements do not look unsightly. In the slide fastener having a fastener tape, a core cord and metallic coupling elements disposed along a longitudinal edge of one side of the fastener tape, a plurality of electric conductors are used as a part of warps of the fastener tape, and the exposed portions of the electric conductors are shifted one another in the longitudinal direction. Therefore, the electric conductors are substantially continuously exposed on the front surface of the fastener tape along the outer edge of the core cord and weaved in the fastener tape body.

  • Patent number: 5467630
Abstract: A method for working terminal parts of materials subjected to vertical suspension type surface treatment thereby forming in the terminal parts such hook engaging parts as to be engaged with nipping devices of a carrier bar serving to convey the materials successively to a series of surface-treating baths is disclosed. This method is characterized in that the formation of the hook engaging part in the terminal part of the material is carried out at the same time that or after the step of cutting an extruded material into a fixed length is performed. The hook engaging part may be a groove, notch or hole formed in the terminal part of the fixed-length material and may be formed by a cutting or pressing work. In another embodiment, a protuberant hook engaging part is formed by welding on the surface of the terminal part of the fixed-length material while the material is in transit to a inspection table.

  • Patent number: 5468697
Abstract: Ultrafine particles of aluminum nitride having a morphologically anisotropic structure of columns, plates, or whiskers such that the ratio of thickness or width to length or the ratio of thickness to width or length of particle is not less than 1 are produced by thermally melting a binary alloy of metallic aluminum and a rare earth element in a nitriding atmosphere containing nitrogen. By this method are produced composite ultrafine particles which substantially comprise ultrafine particles of aluminum nitride having the morphologically anisotropic structure and ultrafine particles of the rare earth nitride which functions as a sintering auxiliary therefor. The composite ultrafine particles or an aggregate thereof are usable as a raw material for the production of a sintered article, a reinforcing material for various metal-based composite materials, a blast powder, and the like.
