Abstract: A system and method for rewarding a player for activity through a computer system relating to a racetrack track event. The computer system is operatively connected with a remote device to display a player interface to transmit and receive information and requests from the player. The request may be for various player activity through the computer system, including wagers, purchases for products or services, and various other activities relating to wagering on a racetrack event. The computer system tracks the player activity and determines an award amount for the player activity. The award amount is dependent on the reward level of the player as determined by a set of predetermined criteria inputted into the computer system. The player can accumulate the award amount in an award total or redeem the award total for prizes, products, services or a cash value.

Abstract: The subject invention provides a first method for estimating the number of subscribers to a service. The first method calculates the number of subscribers based on a rate of additional subscribers and a rate of departing subscribers, where the rate of departing subscribers is recursively depending on the number of subscribers. The subject invention also provides second and third methods for estimating an amount of income attributable to the subscribers of the service. The second method assigns different contributions to the total income based on the additional subscribers and departing subscribers. The third method segments the number of subscribers into subscriber groups, then assigns different contributions tot the total income based on each subscriber group. A computer based system is also disclosed for performing the methods.

Abstract: A system and method for placing a wager on events is disclosed. The system includes a web server connected to the Internet, a database in communication with the web server storing codes corresponding to at least one criterion associated with an event for an interactive voice response (IVR) system and generating a string of codes corresponding to a wager, and a graphical user interface. The graphical user interface is accessible from a client workstation separate from the web server and communicates with the web server to establish the wager. The graphical user interface initiates a call from the client workstation to transmit the string of code to the IVR system using voice-over internet protocols.

Abstract: A method and system for determining geographic location and mental state of a user. A GPS circuit is to generate signals representing a geographic location. The system uses a host computer and a local computer connected to each other over a network. A keypad is used to enter provided sequence information which is sent to the host computer if entered within a set period of time along with geographic location information provided by a GPS system and serial number information. The host computer verifies that the sequence information, serial number and geographic location information are as expected and if so, allows a user access to certain information provided by the host system.

Abstract: A system and method for relaying race information related to a plurality of races, such as horse or greyhound races, typically held at racetracks. The system includes a computer system that receives and stores current race information from the plurality of races. The system also includes a remote device coupled to the computer system. A user operating the remote device can view race information and place wagers on the races. The method begins by the computer system sending initial race information to the remote device. As current race information is received from the racetracks, the computer system compares current race information with the initial race information sent to the remote device. The computer system then sends updated race information to the remote device. This updated race information includes only race information that has changed since the initial race information was sent from the computer system to the remote device.
