Abstract: Disclosed is technology for storing original work data on a derivative work data blockchain along with code for verifying that derivative work data is derivative of the original work data. The technology involves receiving derivative work data from a submitting entity along with proof data showing that the derivative work is derivative of the original work. If the derivative work data is verified as derivative, then the derivative work data is appended to the derivative work data blockchain.

Abstract: Aspect pre-selection techniques using machine learning are described. In one example, an artificial assistant system is configured to implement a chat bot. A user then engages in a first natural-language conversation. As part of this first natural-language conversation, a communication is generated by the chat bot to prompt the user to specify an aspect of a category that is a subject of a first natural-language conversation and user data is received in response. Data that describes this first natural-language conversation is used to train a model using machine learning. Data, is then be received by the chat bot as part of a second natural-language conversation. This data, from the second natural-language conversation, is processed using the model as part of machine learning to generate the second search query to include the aspect of the category automatically and without user intervention.

Abstract: Embodiments for presenting real-time contact options are described herein. In example embodiments, as system identifies a number of user devices actively viewing a web page that includes a real-time contact option. The system then determines whether the number of user devices actively viewing the web page that includes the real-time contact option exceeds a predetermined limit. If the number of user devices actively viewing the web page that includes the real-time contact option exceeds the predetermined limit, the system prevents presentation, to a further user device, of the real-time contact option on the web page. Conversely, if the number of user devices actively viewing the web page that includes the real-time contact option does not exceed the predetermined limit, the system causes presentation of the web page with the real-time contact option to the further user device.

Abstract: The approaches presented herein may include loading a plurality of metadata instances for a plurality of data blocks stored in a database, each metadata instance of the plurality of metadata instances indicating a respective data block structure applied to aggregate a set of data messages. Some embodiments comprise a first generative adversarial network (GAN) and a second GAN coupled to the first GAN, where the first GAN includes an image generator and at least two discriminators, and the second GAN includes an image generator and at least one discriminator. According to some embodiments, the (first) image generator of the first GAN is trained by processing a user-provided image using the first GAN. For some embodiments, the user-provided image and the first generated image, generated by processing the user-provided image using the first GAN, are combined to produce a combined image. For some embodiments, the (second) image generator of the second GAN is trained by processing the combined image using the second GAN.

Abstract: Dynamic link preview generation techniques are described that overcome the challenges of conventional techniques by supporting link preview generation by a content provider system that proves the digital content via a respective network address. In one example, a content provider system, based on a request received from a service provider system, identifies a communication platform of the service provider system that is to be used to communicate the shared link. Upon identifying the communication platform, the content provider system locates customization data that describes how the link preview is to be generated for the communication platform. Abstract: A system for viewing shopping information on a social networking platform is disclosed. At the social networking platform, the system receives a request from a user device corresponding to a first user of the social networking platform to view a list of a second user of the social networking platform. In response to receiving the request from the user device, the system forwards the request to the network-based commerce server, and then receives updated information for at least one item on the list from the network-based corner server. Abstract: Systems and methods for are provided for predicting impending failure of a database and preemptively initiating mitigating failover actions, for example by shedding connections or redirecting connection requests to an alternate database that can fulfill resources being requested. In an example embodiment, to detect a slow or unstable database, connection wait times are monitored over a rolling window of time intervals, a quantity of intervals in which at least one excessive wait time event occurred are counted during the time window, and if the quantity exceeds a threshold, the database is deemed unavailable, thereby triggering connection adjustments.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer storage media for processing search queries using relevance-based search refinement are provided. In response to a search query, search result items are displayed on a search interface along with selectable guidance attributes. The guidance attributes are an identified ranked set of characteristics of items based on historical user interactions of users interacting with the search result items provided in response to the search query. Upon selection of a guidance attribute, a guidance-attribute control having embedded selectable values is displayed. The seller client authenticates a seller user with an authentication service, such as a biometric authentication service, receives an authentication token corresponding to the seller user, and sends an account creation request with the item token and the authentication token to an account creation service. The account creation service receives the account creation request, sends a user information request to the authentication service with the authentication token and receives seller information for the seller user from the authentication service. The account creation service creates a seller user account using the seller information, commits a purchase transaction for the purchase item, and sends an item purchase confirmation to the buyer client.

Abstract: A method of training a machine learning model to determine an item margin is provided. The method includes monitoring a first value for a first item having attributes and monitoring a first value for a second type of item having attributes where an attribute of the first attributes is the same as an attribute of the second attributes. The method also includes determining a first margin based on the first values. The first attributes, the second attributes, and the first margin are input as training data for the machine learning model where the machine learning model is trained with the training data. The monitoring operations for the first item and the second item are repeated to obtain a second value for the first and second items. Furthermore, the trained machine learning model is applied to the second values to determine a second margin.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating feedback for a webpage based on visual interactions on the webpage are provided. In example embodiments, a user interface (UI) displaying the webpage is presented. The system receives an indication of a selection of an edit trigger and configures the webpage to receive feedback (e.g., one or more user inputs applied to webpage) from the user in response. The user inputs are received, whereby each user input is associated with an identifier of the webpage and coordinates of a location within the webpage. The system processes the user inputs including generating a feedback preview that displays each of the user inputs organized based on a corresponding feedback type. The feedback preview is displayed to the user for approval. Approval of at least a portion of the feedback on the feedback preview will cause the approved feedback to be transmitted to a corresponding entity.

A local cache compression engine accesses values in the local cache and determines a cardinality of the values of the local cache. The local cache compression engine determines a compression rate of a compression algorithm based on the cardinality of the values of the local cache. Example embodiments include a machine-implemented method for accessing a shipping request, detecting a radio signal from a candidate container using a radio receiver, detecting an impact between a pairing device and a query container using an accelerometer, determining that the query container is the candidate container, and generating a shipping record that correlates the shipping container and the item. The device can further determine that the query container is the candidate container based on the signal strength and change in signal strength of one or more signals. The device can further detect an impact between the pairing device and the query container by ranking one or more sets of acceleration data collected by the accelerometer.

Then, a plurality of text objects, in the second language, similar to the translated text may be located in a database, each of the text objects corresponding to a listing. Then, the plurality of text objects similar to the translated text may be ranked based on a comparison of the contextual information about the first listing and contextual information stored in the database for the listings corresponding to the plurality of text objects similar to the translated text. At least one of the ranked plurality of text objects may then be translated to the first language.

Abstract: A system server includes a database of two-dimensional images and a processor coupled to a hardware memory with instructions that in response to execution by the processor direct performance of operations. The operations include generating a digital model from the images in the database and communicating a first portion of the digital model as an enhanced view to a user device. The first portion corresponds to a first line of sight orientation of the user device as measured by an orientation sensor. The operations include receiving a signal based on sensor data measured by the orientation sensor. The signal indicates movement of the user device from the first line of sight orientation to a second line of sight orientation. In response, the method includes communicating a second portion of the digital model to the user device that corresponds to the second line of sight orientation of the user device.

Abstract: Software defined storage service (SDS) provides users with remote data volumes spread across multiple storage nodes across multiple failure domains. A distributed volume may be spread across replicas (e.g., failure domains), each replica having a number of partitions stored on storage nodes associated with a particular failure domain. In the event of a node failure, a partition stored on the failed node may be dynamically moved and remapped to another node in the same failure domain or within another failure domain that is different from a failure domain that includes a partition that is complementary to the partition stored on the failed node. The partition move and remapping may be transparent to a user. A partition move may occur while a distributed volume is in use by a client device or in an idle (e.g., offline) mode.

Abstract: Described are computing systems and methods configured to detect a small, but meaningful, anomaly within one or more metrics associated with a platform. The system displays visuals of the metrics so that a user monitoring the platform can effectively notice a problem associated with the anomaly and take appropriate action to remediate the problem. An operational visual includes a radar-based visual with a heatmap arranging metrics, and a node representing a state of the metrics. Moreover, the system uses an ensemble of unsupervised machine learning algorithms for multi-dimensional clustering of hundreds of thousands of monitored metrics. Via the visuals and the implementation of the machine learning algorithms, the described techniques provide an improved way of representing and simulating many metrics being monitored for a platform. Moreover, the techniques are configured to expose actionable and useful information associated with the platform in a manner that can be effectively interpreted.

The first listing includes an image(s) of a first item. The Listing Engine provides as input to an encoded neural network model a portion(s) of a translated first listing and a portions(s) of a second listing in the second language. The second listing includes an image(s) of a second item. The Listing Engine receives from the encoded neural network model a first feature vector for the translated first listing and a second feature vector for the second listing. The first and the second feature vectors both include at least one type of image signature feature and at least one type of listing text-based feature.

Abstract: Software is increasingly being developed as a collection of loosely coupled applications. Loosely coupled applications exchange data by publishing data to and retrieving data from a data store, such as a database, a file located on a storage cluster, etc. Data produced by one application and consumed by another is referred to as a data dependency. In some embodiments, an application's data dependencies are identified by analyzing cached query plans associated with the application. Query plans include a hierarchical representation of a query, where non-leaf nodes represent commands and leaf nodes identify data dependencies. An application's data dependencies are identified by traversing the hierarchical representation of the query. Data dependencies consumed by the application are identified by finding leaf nodes that descend from a read command, while data dependencies produced by the application are identified by finding leaf nodes that descend from a write command.

Abstract: Systems and methods for multi-directional visual browsing on an electronic device are described. In example embodiments, a primary result and a peripheral result are determined. A display layout based on attributes associated with the primary result and the peripheral result is generated. The display layout is then formatted into instructions, which will cause a device to render the display layout. The instructions are transmitted to the client device.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for identifying a relevant candidate product in an electronic marketplace. Embodiments perform a visual similarity comparison between candidate product image visual content and input query image visual content, process formal and informal natural language user inputs, and coordinate aggregated past user interactions with the marketplace stored in a knowledge graph. Visually similar items and their corresponding product categories, aspects, and aspect values can determine suggested candidate products without discernible delay during a multi-turn user dialog. The user can then refine the search for the most relevant items available for purchase by providing responses to machine-generated prompts that are based on the initial search results from visual, voice, and/or text inputs. An intelligent online personal assistant can thus guide a user to the most relevant candidate product more efficiently than existing search tools.

Abstract: Physical object boundary detection techniques and systems are described. In one example, an augmented reality module generates three dimensional point cloud data. This data describes depths at respective points within a physical environment that includes the physical object. A physical object boundary detection module is then employed to filter the point cloud data by removing points that correspond to a ground plane. The module then performs a nearest neighbor search to locate a subset of the points within the filtered point cloud data that correspond to the physical object. Based on this subset, the module projects the subset of points onto the ground plane to generate a two-dimensional boundary. The two-dimensional boundary is then extruded based on a height determined from a point having a maximum distance from the ground plane from the filtered cloud point data.

Abstract: A process for linking related images and videos is disclosed. The process can include receiving listing information including the images and the video, processing the images using an image processor to determine one or more image descriptors, processing the video using a video processor to determine video descriptors, comparing the image descriptors to the video descriptors, calculating a similarity value for each of the image descriptors in relation to each of the video descriptors, and linking the videos and the images based upon the calculated similarity value. The method can also include causing the display of a user interface including a video linking user interface element operable to cause playback of a relevant portion of the video linked with the displayed image and an image linking user interface element operable to cause display of a relevant image linked with a portion of the video playback.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for determining a spam publication using a spam detection system are presented. The spam detection system receives, from a device, an image of an item and an item attribute for the item. Additionally, the spam detection system extracts an image attribute based on the received image, and compares the item attribute and the image attribute. Moreover, the spam detection system calculates a confidence score based on the comparison. Furthermore, the spam detection system determines that the item attribute is incorrect based on the confidence score transgressing a predetermined threshold. In response to the determination that the item attribute is incorrect, the spam detection system causes presentation, on a display of the device, of a notification.

Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for generating recommendations using multi-level social network analysis of user behavior. In some embodiments, the system receives a set of user interactions, from a plurality of users, performed on a set of data objects; generates a set of associations between the set of data objects; and identifies a set of data object clusters indicative of the set of associations. Abstract: Systems and methods to rotate security assets used to for secure communications are disclosed. The system includes initiating a communication session between two servers. Additionally, a server provides a first version of a first certificate to another server. The first version of the first certificate has identifying information including a first public key. The server receives a second certificate. The server determines that the second certificate is trusted by determining that the second certificate has identifying information matching the identifying information of the first version of the first certificate. In response to determining that the second certificate is trusted, the server encrypts the first public key. The server provides the encrypted first public key to the other server. The server then receives a verification of decryption of the encrypted first public key.

Abstract: Augmented reality, computer vision, and digital ticketing system techniques are described that employ a location determination system. In one example, the location determination system is configured to receiving at least one digital image as part of a live camera feed, identify an object included in the at least one digital image using object recognition, determine a location of the object in relation to a digital map of a physical environment, generate augmented reality digital content indicating the determined location in relation to the digital map, and render the augmented reality digital content as part of the live camera feed for display by a display device.
