Abstract: A videoconference system is described that generates a video for a room including multiple videoconference participants and outputs the video as part of the videoconference. The videoconference system is configured to generate the video as including a detailed view of one of the multiple videoconference participants located in the room. To do so, the videoconference system detects user devices located in the room capable of capturing video and determines a position of each user device. The videoconference system then detects a user speaking in the room and determines a position of the active speaker. At least one of the user devices is identified as including a camera oriented for capturing the active speaker. Video content captured by one or more user devices is then processed by the videoconference system to generate a detailed view of the active speaker.

Abstract: Techniques are described, as implemented by computing devices, to control access to transactions through use of tokenized reputation scores. This is performed by leveraging a blockchain such that a tokenized reputation score is generated or calculated based on an amount of reputation tokens associated with a blockchain account address associated with a service provider account, and by making transactional functionality available to the service provider account based on a comparison of a tokenized reputation score affiliated with the service provider account with a threshold score associated with a transaction.

Abstract: A set of images is accessed from a server. The set is analyzed to identify objects in each image using object recognition algorithms. A primary image that includes more of the identified objects than any of the other images of the set is determined. For each of the identified objects in the primary image, a secondary image that includes the identified object and has a higher magnification than the primary image is determined. Links are inserted into the primary image at locations including an identified object that is also in a secondary image. The primary image is displayed and, upon receiving a selection of one of the links, the secondary image that includes the identified object at the location of the selected link is displayed. The set of images is ordered based on relative positions of the identified objects in each image and then linked together based on the ordering.

Abstract: Technologies are shown for function level permissions control for smart contract execution to implement permissions policy on a blockchain. Permissions control rules control function calls at a system level utilizing function boundary detection instrumentation in a kernel that executes smart contracts. The detection instrumentation generates a call stack that represents a chain of function calls in the kernel for a smart contract. The permissions control rules are applied to the call stack to implement permissions control policy. Permissions control rules can use dynamic state data in the function call chain. If the dynamic state data observed in function call chains does not meet the requirements defined in the permissions control rules, then the function call can be blocked from executing or completing execution. The permissions control rules can be generated for a variety of different entities, such as a domain, user or resource.

Abstract: Access control to a digital event is disclosed. An access request to access a digital event is received from a first device. The access request may include an event identifier and a password. The event identifier may comprise a unique uniform resource locator associated with an electronic ticket for the digital event. It is determined that a second device is currently accessing the digital event, wherein the second device was previously authorized to access the digital event based on the unique uniform resource locator associated with the electronic ticket for the digital event. The first device is caused to receive a digital media stream associated with the digital event and the second device is caused to stop receiving the digital media stream associated with the digital event.

Abstract: In various example embodiments, a system and method for data mesh visualization are presented. An avatar representation of a user is generated. A user-specified change to the avatar representation is received and the avatar representation is changed based on the user-specified change. A current status of the user is determined, and an updated avatar representation is generated based on the current status of the user. The updated avatar is displayed in association with a communication of the user.

Abstract: One or more of the systems, apparatuses, or methods discussed herein can include a quality score for a plurality of item listings or collections of item listings. Data sparseness can be avoided, as the quality score is based on inherent properties of the listing. An item listing can be recommended to a user based on the quality score. In one or more embodiments, a method can include determining a plurality of quality scores including a quality score for each of a plurality of item listings or a plurality of collections of item listings, the quality scores determined independent of a user's attributes and independent of the user's contextual information, the contextual information corresponding to details of the user's access to a website, and recommending an item listing or collection of item listings to a user based on the quality scores and the contextual information.

Abstract: Technologies are described for generating visualizations that graphically represent an item being exposed to extreme environmental conditions while en route to a destination. An exemplary visualization may include a still graphic that shows a symbol of a detected environmental condition positioned adjacent to and/or superimposed over a graphic that represents the item. Another exemplary visualization may include an animation that includes a sequence of frames that, when sequentially displayed at a particular frame rate, animate the item being subjected to the detected environmental condition. Various implementations include receiving measurements of the environmental conditions that the item is exposed to from sensors that are proximate to the item while it is en route to the destination. Then, when thresholds are reached for specific environmental conditions (e.g., temperature, acceleration, etc.

Abstract: Technologies are shown for storing a data object in a distributed application architecture. Critical data in the data object is stored in an object data block on a blockchain. Noncritical data elements in the data object are stored in data block files at an address on a distributed file system, where the addresses are stored in the data block. The object data block is retrieved from the blockchain. The noncritical elements are retrieved from the file system using the address in the data block. The critical and noncritical elements are combined into a reassembled data object. The critical and noncritical data elements can be differentiated in a data definition for the data object or algorithmically analyzing data in the data object. Metadata for the data object can be stored in the object data block and utilized to combine the critical and noncritical elements into the reassembled data object.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for identifying a candidate product in an electronic marketplace based on a visual comparison between candidate product image visual content and input query image visual content. Embodiments generate and store descriptive image signatures from candidate product images or selected portions of such images. A subsequently calculated visual similarity measure serves as a visual search result score for the candidate product in comparison to an input query image. Any number of images of any number of candidate products may be analyzed, such as for items available for sale in an online marketplace. Image analysis results are stored in a database and made available for subsequent automated on-demand visual comparisons to an input query image. The embodiments enable substantially real time visual based product searching of a potentially vast catalog of items.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture, including computer program products, are provided for image cleanup. In some embodiments, there is provide a method which may include subsampling a first image to a first level image of a multiscale transform; performing, based on a machine learning model, an identification of a foreground portion of the first level image and a background portion of the first level image; generating, based on the identification of the foreground portion and the background portion, a first mask; upscaling the first mask to a resolution corresponding to the first image depicting the foreground item; applying the upscaled first mask to the first image to form a second image depicting the foreground item; and providing the second image depicting the foreground item to a publication system. Based on the first user being authorized, an identifier for the item is added to a list of recommended items that is accessible view the network-based social platform.

Abstract: Methods for determining which image of a set of images to present in a search results page for a product are described. Components of a server system may receive a set of images for a set of items associated with a product. Components of the server system may perform image ranking to rank the set of images to identify a representative image of the set of images for the product, based on a user interaction metric of each image of the set of images. The components of the server system may then receive, from a user device, a search query that may be mapped to the product, and the component of the server system may transmit, to the user device, the search results page that includes at least one item of the set of items and the representative image based on the interaction metric of the representative image.

Abstract: Technologies are shown for controlling a transaction on a digitally stored blockchain by creating a contract data block for a transaction involving entities and by event code executed after receipt of digital signatures from the entities. A refund transaction may be digitally signed by entities and linked to the contract block within the blockchain. A payment transaction block may also be digitally signed by entities and linked to the contract block. Code authorized to execute by the blocks executes based on receipt of digital signature events.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include a system comprising a machine-readable storage medium storing at least one program and computer-implemented methods for detecting a language of a text string. Consistent with some embodiments, the method may include applying multiple language identification models to a text string. Each language identification model provides a predicted language of the text string and a confidence score associated with the predicted language. The method may further include weighting each associated confidence score based on historical performance of the corresponding language identification model in predicting languages of other text strings. The method may further include selecting a predicted language of the text string from among the multiple predicted languages provided by the multiple language identification models based on a result of the weighting of the confidence score associated with the particular predicted language.

Abstract: Technologies are disclosed herein for distributing information. The disclosed technologies determine an application element configured to receive information that is updated at a variable rate, the information pertaining to an object. Feature data is received that is associated with the object and data associated with use of the application element. The feature data includes a time horizon for the object and supplemental information associated with the object. Based on the feature data and the data associated with use of the application element, a first rate is predicted for sending the information about the object to the application element. The information is sent to the application element at the first rate.

Abstract: Configuring device data streams (DDSs) of a mobile device is described herein. DDSs can include sensor data (captured from one or more sensors of the mobile device) and user-specific data (including application data from applications executed via the mobile device, as well as non-application data). DDS configuration parameters define modifications for the user-specific data and/or the sensor data of the DDS; these modifications can include removing or altering the user-specific data and/or the sensor data. DDSs can be sent to an external storage device via a network, and DDS modifications can be made at the mobile device or at the external storage device. Modified DDSs can be provided to requestors, and thus, the DDS configuration parameters allow a user to control what data is, or is not, included in a DDS for reasons related to privacy, data usage, etc.

Abstract: A system and method for conducting battery charge aware communications is disclosed. A system receives a content request from a client device, wherein the content request indicates one or more content items. The system retrieves the one or more requested content items from a content database at the system. The system determines whether the content request includes current remaining battery power data for the client device. In response to determining that the content request includes the current remaining battery power data for the client device, the system determines whether a current remaining battery power is below a predetermined threshold. In response to determining that the current remaining battery power is below the predetermined threshold, the system analyzes the one or more requested content items to determine core content sections. The system transmits the determined core content sections to the client device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide systems, methods, and computer storage media for implementing a nuanced-color search and recommendation system. Employing various techniques described herein, an improved search engine for categorizable items is provided to generate accurate color-based search results and recommendations that are relevant to a nuanced color provided as a search parameter. In various implementations, digital assets that depict categorizable items can be analyzed to characterize the depicted items with, among other things, a particular shade of a determined dominant color. In this way, categorizable items can be searched based at least in part on a selected shade of a particular dominant color to generate a primary search result. In further embodiments, other categorizable items can be generated as recommendations based on characteristics of the primary search result.

Abstract: Systems and methods for neural machine translation are provided. In one example, a neural machine translation system translates text and comprises processors and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor among the processors, cause the system to perform operations comprising, at least, obtaining a text as an input to a neural network system, supplementing the input text with meta information as an extra input to the neural network system, and delivering an output of the neural network system to a user as a translation of the input text, leveraging the meta information for translation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for public transport infrastructure facilitated drone delivery are provided. In example embodiments, a request to deliver a package to a drop-off destination using a drone is received. Public infrastructure information is accessed. A public infrastructure terminal from which the drone delivers the package is identified based on the public infrastructure information. An instruction is communicated to transport the package to the identified public. A drone delivery route from the identified public infrastructure terminal to the drop-off destination is determined based on the public infrastructure information. An instruction to deliver the package using the drone delivery route is communicated to the drone.

Abstract: Methods and systems for protecting seller privacy during an ecommerce transaction are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes, receiving, via an online listing configuration interface for a first session, one or more candidate pick up times and specific pick up locations for an item, determining a generalized version of the one or more specific pick up locations, displaying, via a second session, an online listing for the item, displaying, via the second session, the one or more candidate pick up times and the generalized versions of the one or more specific pick up locations, receiving, via the second session, a selection of one of the candidate pick up times and one of the generalized versions of one of the specific pick up locations, in response to receiving payment for the item, displaying a specific pick up location corresponding to the selected one generalized version.

Abstract: Various implementations described herein are able to leverage the interaction from one or more potential buyers relative to a digital image to automatically create a sales listing for items that appear to be of interest to the buyers. This reduces or eliminates all together the manual effort previously required of sellers in researching and collecting data on each item they wish to sell. Because of their technical nature, the innovative solutions described herein are also readily scalable which, in turn, greatly improves the seller's experience. Based on buyer interaction experiences, sales listings for each item for sale can be automatically created and listed.

Abstract: Various embodiments use a neural network to analyze images for aspects that characterize the images, to present locations of those aspects on the images, and, additionally, to permit a user to interact with those locations on the images. For example, a user may interact with a visual cue over one of those locations to modify, refine, or filter the results of a visual search, performed on a publication corpus, that uses an input image (e.g., one captured using a mobile device) as a search query.

Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting an electronic intrusion are described. The system receives a notification, over a network, from a first application server that is hosting a first electronic service that is hosting a first user account. The notification reports the detection of a user activity associated with the first user account. The first user account is monitored for user activity. Next, the system may identify the notification reporting the detection of the user activity associated with the first user account as a possible electronic intrusion into the first account.

Abstract: Technologies described reduce the amount of time between requesting content and receiving the requested content. In some embodiments, a client provides a search query. A search result page is generated and, prior to returning the search result page to the client, some or all of the search results are asynchronously pre-fetched and cached. The search query can include custom parameters that are also included in the pre-fetch requests. Web addresses in the search results page can be modified to indicate whether a prefetch operation was initiated. Once a user activates one of the search results, the responding web server uses the cached data while generating a response.

Abstract: A system and method for a trusted fulfillment agent network system is described. A network of trusted fulfillment agents is generated for a seller in an online marketplace. A transaction between a buyer and the seller corresponding to a listing of the seller in the online marketplace is accessed. A request is generated to the network of trusted fulfillment agents of the seller to fulfill a shipment of an item from the listing to the buyer on behalf of the seller.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include a navigation system and computer-implemented methods for proactively re-routing vehicles to control traffic flow. Consistent with some embodiments, the navigation system seeks to reduce traffic flow along primary navigation routes (e.g., routes with relatively short travel times) by re-routing vehicles to alternative navigation routes (e.g., routes with relatively longer travel times) using incentives. As an example, upon detecting a vehicle traveling along an alternative route instead of a primary route, the navigation system updates a data structure that represents a user account of a vehicle occupant to reflect an increased account balance. Consistent with some embodiments, the amount of value provided to an occupant of a vehicle traveling along an alternative routes may be obtained from user accounts of occupants of other vehicles that are traveling along a primary route.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing webpage calls via multiple module responses are described. A system may receive, from a client device, a first call for module data associated with a set of webpage modules for presentation in a webpage. The system may subsequently transmit, to the client device based on receiving the first call, a first response including first module data associated with a first subset of the set of webpage modules. The first response may additionally include a token identifying the webpage. The server may additionally transmit, to the client device based on transmitting the first response, a second response including the token identifying the webpage and second module data associated with a second subset of the set of webpage modules that differs from the first subset of the set of webpage modules.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for providing assistance to a user of a mobile application are described. A request to establish a session for a single mobile application executing on a mobile device is received on a remote device via an application programming interface (API) that is integrated with the single mobile application. Information from the single mobile application is received on the remote device via the API, the information including information about the single mobile application. A command is sent from the remote device to the mobile device, causing the mobile device to execute the command in the single mobile application.

Abstract: A system and method for unlocking devices associated with a carrying bag are provided. In example embodiments, biometric information of a user from a biometric reader is received by an authentication system. The biometric reader is located on a pull mechanism of a sliding fastening device for a carrying bag. The user is authenticated by verifying the validity of the biometric information. The authenticated user is associated with the carrying bag. Based on a set of pre-defined permissions, one or more devices associated with the carrying bag are unlocked.

Abstract: Linked packet tracing techniques for software load balancers are described, as leveraging a client identifier generated to link packet traces between packets of a service provider system. In one example, a client-side packet is received from a client device by a processing system. From this, a client identifier is generated by the processing system based on the client device. In response, a modified client-side packet is generated by the processing system by modifying the client-side packet to include the client identifier. The modified client-side packet is transmitted by the processing system to a server system. A server-side packet is then received by the processing system from the server system. In response, the server-side packet is detected as including the client-identifier. From this, the server-side packet is linked to at least the modified client-side packet based on the detecting, and the processing system outputs a result of the linked packets.

Abstract: Process flow graphs are generated from system trace data by obtaining raw distributed trace data for a system, aggregating the raw distributed trace data into aggregated distributed trace data, generating a plurality of process flow graphs from the aggregated distributed trace data, and storing the plurality of process flow graphs in a graphical store. A first critical path can be determined from the plurality of process flow graphs based on an infrastructure design for the system and a process flow graph corresponding to the first critical path provided for graphical display. Certain examples can determine a second critical path involving a selected element of the first critical path and provide the process flow graph for the second critical path for display. Some examples pre-process the aggregated distributed trace data to repair incorrect traces. Other examples merge included process flow graphs into longer graphs.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for accessing a plurality of inventory item listings accessible over a network, wherein each of the plurality of inventory item listings includes one or more text strings, and creating inventory word vectors for at least some of the text strings of the plurality of inventory item listings. The systems and methods further provide for receiving a user input including an input word, wherein the user input is input by a user to access a primary media content, creating an input word vector for the input word, calculating cosine similarities between the input word vector and the inventory word vectors, and analyzing the calculated cosine similarities to determine one or more keywords from the one or more text strings, wherein the one or more keywords are from the text strings having inventory word vectors with the highest cosine similarities to the input word vector.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes determining a set of target listings, retrieving a seed image associated with the seed listing, the seed listing is categorized within a first item category, and generating a seed item feature vector for the seed image using a convolutional neural network (CNN) trained with images of items. The method also includes identifying a plurality of feature vectors associated with the first item category, comparing the seed item feature vector to the plurality of feature vectors using a k-nearest neighbors (kNN) algorithm, and generating a set of nearest neighbor listings to the seed listing. The method further includes storing the set of nearest neighbor listings as associated with the seed listing, selecting one or more nearest neighbor listings from the set of nearest neighbors, and presenting the one or more nearest neighbor listings as a recommendation to a user of the online e-commerce system.

The item depicted in the image may have an attribute that describes a characteristic of the item and an attribute descriptor that corresponds to the attribute of the item and specifies a value of the attribute. The metadata extraction machine performs an analysis of the image. The analysis may include identifying the attribute descriptor corresponding to the attribute based on image segmentation of the image. The metadata extraction machine transmits a communication to a device of a user based on the identifying of the attribute descriptor corresponding to the attribute of the item depicted in the image.

Abstract: A system and method of displaying complementary content on one or more linked machines are disclosed. In some embodiments, the system and method may include a non-transitory, computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions and one or more processors in communication with the non-transitory, computer readable medium. When the computer-executable instructions are executed, the one or more processors may be configured to receive a linking instruction to link a display of second content of a website on a second machine to a selection of a portion of first content of the website by a first machine, cause a display of the first content on the first machine, receive the selection of the portion of the first content displayed on the first machine, and based on the portion of the first content being selected, cause the display of the second content on the second machine based on the linking instruction.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system and method is illustrated including receiving a feedback request identifying a particular user, retrieving a feedback entry in response to the feedback request, the feedback entry containing a first term, building a scoring model based, in part, upon a term frequency count denoting a frequency with which the first term appears in a searchable data structure, mapping the first term to a graphical illustration based upon a second term associated with the graphical illustration such that the graphical illustration may be used to represent the second term, and generating a feedback page containing the first term and the graphical illustration. The method may include assigning a value to the first term so as to identify the first term, assigning the first term to the searchable data structure, and extracting the first term from the searchable data structure based, in part, upon an extraction rule.

Abstract: An item sorting system is described. The item sorting system includes at least one bin that holds items to be sorted and a light source that illuminates the items stored in the at least one bin. In implementations, the at least one bin includes walls that direct light, received from the light source via a first surface, for emission via a second surface facing an interior of the at least one bin. The item sorting system further includes a recognition device that identifies the items for use in sorting the items. The item sorting system further includes an end effector that manipulates the items during sorting. In some implementations, the end effector includes tips that apply a gentle vacuum force to individually manipulate items in a manner that allows for efficient sorting without damaging the items.

Abstract: Fingerprinting physical items to mint NFTs is described. One or more features of a physical item are captured using a fingerprint capture system of a client device, and a fingerprint of the physical item is generated using the captured features of the physical item. The fingerprint of the physical item is provided to an authentication service to verify that the physical item corresponds to an authentic physical item by matching the fingerprint of the physical item to distinguishing features of the authentic physical item. Responsive to verification by the authentication service, a digital twin NFT is minted on a blockchain using the matched fingerprint. A combined listing for the physical item and the digital twin NET is then generated on a listing platform.

Abstract: Technologies are shown for trust delegation that involve receiving a first request from a subject client and responding by sending a first token having first permissions to the subject client. A second request from a first actor includes the first token and responding involves linking the first actor to the subject client in a trust stack and sending a second token to the first actor with second permissions, the second token being a first complex token that identifies the subject client and the first actor. A third request from a second actor includes the second token and responding to the third request involves linking the second actor to the first actor in the trust stack, and sending a third token to the second actor partner with third permissions, the third token being a second complex token that identifies the first actor and the second actor.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enabling a display of listings based on listing activity are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, activity information of a listing displayed among multiple listings is accessed. Whether the activity information of the listing conforms to one or more criteria is determined. A priority of the listing relative to the multiple listings is altered based on the activity information of the listing conforming to the one or more criteria. The listing is displayed among the multiple listings according to the altered priority of the listing.

Abstract: Risk assessment in an authentication service is performed where an authorization request is received from a third-party application. Risk assessment policies for the authorization request are determined based on a class of the third-party application. The risk assessment policies are applied to the authorization request to determine an action to be performed for the authorization request, such as sending an authorization message in response to the authorization request or taking a remedial action (e.g., suspending the application, limiting the available actions, or sending a notification to a trusted security application).
