    Abstract: A method of controlling a vehicle includes determining a first projected path of the vehicle, receiving sensor data corresponding to a steering input, determining a first blended vehicle path resulting from a first blended steering command based on the first projected path and the sensor data, and determining when the first blended vehicle path satisfies a first criteria. When the controller determines that the first blended vehicle path satisfies the first criteria, the controller relinquishes control of the vehicle to an operator and when the controller determines that the first blended vehicle path does not satisfy the first criteria, the controller generates a second blended vehicle path resulting from a second blended steering command based on the first projected path and the sensor data.

A rotor assembly is rotatably mounted to the hosing adjacent the stator assembly. The rotor assembly includes a rotor core with one or more magnets mounted to the rotor core and spaced across an air gap from the winding(s). Select components of the outer housing, rotor assembly, and/or stator assembly have a target surface with an oleophobic surface treatment that reduces the non-target surface's wetted area and decreases the mass of coolant fluid contacting the non-target surface.

The backup network is configured such that current flow is directed along a first pathway when open circuit state occurs in the first portion of the battery pack, and the current flow is directed along a second pathway when the open circuit state occurs in the second portion of the battery pack. The backup network enables powering of a designated load and/or a designated function during the open circuit state.

    Abstract: A method for generating an occlusion map using crowdsourcing includes receiving occlusion data from a host vehicle. The occlusion data includes a plurality of virtual detection lines each extending from the sensor and intersecting an off-road area. The method further includes marking all non-occluded points that are located inside the off-road area and that are located within a predetermined distance from each plurality of virtual detection lines. The method further includes determining a non-occluded region inside the off-road area using the non-occluded points that have been previously marked inside the off-road area, wherein the non-occluded region is part of non-occlusion data. The method further includes generating an occlusion map using the non-occlusion data. The method further includes transmitting the occlusion map to the host vehicle. The method can also determine an occlusion caused by an elevation peak.

In response to receiving a start request indicative of a requested start event of the motor vehicle, the ECU executes instructions to initiate a cognitive response test via the sensors. The ECU determines a test score of a driver during the test while the motor vehicle remains off, compares the test score to baseline scores to determine a passing or failing test result, and executes a control action aboard the motor vehicle in response to the passing or failing test result. The ECU may disable or immobilize the motor vehicle in response to the failing test result.
