  • Patent number: 11974013
Abstract: Systems and methods of combining digital video are described. A system can receive digital video comprising frames. The system can analyze the frames to identify a subset of consecutive frames that have a static portion defined by a spatial region with matching pixels across two or more frames. The system can tag the digital video with an indication of the subset and a trigger that causes transmission, at a temporal offset during playback prior to the subset, of a request for content used to overwrite the static portion. The system can receive the request from the client device, the request transmitted by the client device based on the temporal offset during playback prior to the subset. The system can select and transmit a content item responsive to the request to cause the client device to render the content item at the static portion of the subset.

  • Patent number: 11972616
Abstract: The technology relates to factors regarding the external environment around a vehicle that are used to trigger enhanced driving directions for use by the driver. The factors can include issues such as adverse weather conditions, low light conditions and temporary obstacles or other obstructions that may prevent or reduce the ability of the driver to see street signs or other landmarks that are part of an initial set of driving directions. Upon determination of one or more relevant factors, the system is able to modify or otherwise enhances directions in real time. This allows the driver to be able to quickly and easily identify other visible landmarks and use such information to navigate to a desired destination. This approach employs one or more on-board cameras configured to detect objects and conditions in the environment adjacent to or otherwise nearby the vehicle, such as within line of sight of the vehicle's front end.

  • Patent number: 11971925
Abstract: Implementations are described herein for leveraging digital media files retrieved and/or created by users to predict/determine topics of potential relevance to the users. In various implementations, digital media file(s) created and/or retrieved by a user with a client device may be applied as input across trained machine learning model(s), which in some cases are local to the client device, to generate output that indicates object(s) detected in the digital media file(s). Data indicative of the indicated object(s) may be provided to a remote computing system without providing the digital media file(s) themselves. In some implementations, information associated with the indicated object(s) may be retrieved and proactively output to the user. In some implementations, a frequency at which objects occur across a corpus of digital media files may be considered when determining a likelihood that a detected object is potentially relevant to a user.

  • Patent number: 11972226
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, that facilitate generating stable real-time textual translations in a target language of an input audio data stream that is recorded in a source language. An audio stream that is recorded in a first language is obtained. A partial transcription of the audio can be generated at each time interval in a plurality of successive time intervals. Each partial transcription can be translated into a second language that is different from the first language. Each translated partial transcription can be input to a model that determines whether a portion of an input translated partial transcription is stable. Based on the input translated partial transcription, the model identifies a portion of the translated partial transcription that is predicted to be stable. • Patent number: 11972238
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for propagating reduced-precision on computation graphs are described. In one aspect, a method includes receiving data specifying a directed graph that includes operators for a program. The operators include first operators that each represent a numerical operation performed on numerical values having a first level of precision and second operators that each represent a numerical operation performed on numerical values having a second level of precision. One or more downstream operators are identified for a first operator. A determination is made whether each downstream operator represents a numerical operation that is performed on input values having the second level of precision. Whenever each downstream operator represents a numerical operation that is performed on input values having the second level of precision, a precision of numerical values output by the operation represented by the first operator is adjusted to the second level of precision.

Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) device, such as AR glasses, may include a microphone array. The sensitivity of the microphone array can be directed to a target by beamforming, which includes combining the audio of each microphone of the array in a particular way based on a location of the target. The present disclosure describes systems and methods to determine the location of the target based on a gaze of a user and beamform the audio accordingly. This eye-tracked beamforming (i.e., foveated beamforming) can be used by AR applications to enhance sounds from a gaze direction and to suppress sounds from other directions. Additionally, the gaze information can be used to help visualize the results of an AR application, such as speech-to-text.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium for asynchronous live migration of applications between two or more servers. The computer readable medium includes computer-executable instructions for execution by a processing system. Primary applications runs on primary hosts and one or more replicated instances of each primary application run on one or more backup hosts. Asynchronous live migration is provided through a combination of process replication, logging, barrier synchronization, checkpointing, reliable messaging and message playback. The live migration is transparent to the application and requires no modification to the application, operating system, networking stack or libraries.

  • Patent number: 11966518
Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to effectuating device arbitration in a multi-device environment using data available from a wearable computing device, such as computerized glasses. The computerized glasses can include a camera, which can be used to provide image data for resolving issues related to device arbitration. In some implementations, a direction that a user is directing their computerized glasses, and/or directing their gaze (as detected by the computerized glasses with prior permission from the user), can be used to prioritize a particular device in a multi-device environment. A detected orientation of the computerized glasses can also be used to determine how to simultaneously allocate content between a graphical display of the computerized glasses and another graphical display of another client device. When content is allocated to the computerized glasses, content-specific gestures can be enabled and actionable at the computerized glasses.

Some of those implementations are directed to adapting an assistant client application, where the assistant client application interacts with remote assistant component(s) to provide automated assistant functionalities via the assistant client application of the feature phone. Some implementations are additionally or alternatively directed to determining whether an invocation, of an assistant client application on a feature phone, is a request for transcription of voice data received in conjunction with the invocation, or is instead a request for an assistant response that is responsive to the transcription of the voice data (e.g., includes assistant content that is based on and in addition to the transcription, and that optionally lacks the transcription itself).

Rather than implementing operation-specific circuits for each data-dependent operation, the XPU can be configured to perform different operations in response to input signals configuring individual operations performed by processing cells and crossbars arranged as a stacked network in the XPU. Each processing cell can receive and process data across multiple data processing lanes. Aspects of the disclosure include configuring the XPU to use a vector sort network to perform a duplicate count eliminating the need to configure the XPU separately for sorting and duplicate counting.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for assembling/evaluating automated assistant responses for privacy concerns. In various implementations, a free-form natural language input may be received from a first user and may include a request for information pertaining to a second user. Multiple data sources may be identified that are accessible by an automated assistant to retrieve data associated with the second user. The multiple data sources may collectively include sufficient data to formulate a natural language response to the request. Respective privacy scores associated with the multiple data sources may be used to determine an aggregate privacy score associated with responding to the request. The natural language response may then be output at a client device operated by the first user in response to a determination that the aggregate privacy score associated with the natural language response satisfies a privacy criterion established for the second user with respect to the first user.
