  • Patent number: 11821374
Abstract: An internal-combustion engine includes a variable compression ratio mechanism for changing a mechanical compression ratio, and a variable valve timing mechanism for changing the valve timing of an intake valve. When acceleration is demanded, a target compression ratio is set to a lower compression ratio than the target value in a normal condition, and the valve timing is set to the advance angle side. Since the allowable combustion pressure decreases in a prescribed intermediate compression ratio region, if an actual compression ratio exists in the prescribed intermediate compression ratio region in the course of a compression ratio change accompanying acceleration, the variable compression ratio mechanism restricts the intake pressure by increasing a degree of opening of a wastegate valve or reducing a degree of opening of a throttle valve, for example.

Abstract: When an own vehicle changes lanes to another lane different from the traveling lane by override, a traveling control device for a vehicle generates a first travelable area in the traveling lane based on the predicted traveling trajectory in accordance with the override of the own vehicle and generates a second travelable area along the other lane. The traveling control device for the vehicle generates a third travelable area by connecting the first travelable area and the second travelable area, generates an own vehicle traveling trajectory within the third travelable area and controls a motion of the own vehicle so that the own vehicle travels along the own vehicle traveling trajectory.

  • Patent number: 11782438
Abstract: An apparatus for post-processing of a decision-making model of an autonomous vehicle receives a decision-making model including a plurality of states. The model is processed using multivariate data that comprises values for at least three observations of a vehicle operational scenario. A slice of the model decision space is generated by fixing values of all except two observations, and modifying the values of the two observations to obtain multiple alternative solutions for the model. The alternative solutions and the modified values form the slice. Each alternative solution is associated with a respective first value of a first observation and a respective second value of a second observation. The apparatus also generates a solution to a modified decision-making model that is the model modified by, for at least one state and at least one of the two observations, modifying a probabilistic transition matrix, a probabilistic observation matrix, or both.

Abstract: When a host vehicle enters a roundabout, a travel route of the host vehicle is communicated by a direction indicator to other vehicles surroundings the host vehicle. A controller computes a travel route over which a host vehicle and executes driving assist control so that the host vehicle travels along the travel route. In this driving assist method, whether or not the host vehicle has arrived at a roundabout is assessed. When the host vehicle is assessed to have arrived at a roundabout, a positional relationship between a host vehicle entrance for the host vehicle and a host vehicle exit for the host vehicle in the roundabout is assessed based on the travel route. When the host vehicle enters the roundabout, control of the direction indicator lights is performed in accordance with the positional relationship that was assessed.
