The latch mechanism retains the door in a closed orientation and in response to operation of the latch mechanism the door is released for movement to an open orientation. The reinforcement bracket is fixedly attached to structures of the vehicle door. The jamming bracket is fixed to the reinforcement bracket and has a locking portion that extends to an area adjacent to a release lever of the latch mechanism. With the door in a non-deformed state, the release lever is movable between a door opened orientation and a door closed orientation. In response to deformation of the door resulting from an exterior impact force, the locking portion of the jamming bracket moves toward the release lever preventing the release lever from moving to the door opened orientation.

  • Patent number: 11608048
Abstract: A system includes a battery, an engine, and a processor. The processor is configured to plan, according to a model, an activation action of the engine of a vehicle for a next road segment subsequent to a current road segment; and activate, for the next road segment, the engine according to the activation action. The model includes a state space that includes a navigation map, which includes the current road segment of the vehicle, a current charge level of the battery, and whether the engine is currently on or off. The activation action is selected from a set comprising a first action to turn on the engine to charge the battery and a second action to turn off the engine.

  • Patent number: 11603128
Abstract: A steering control method controls the steering of a vehicle having a steer-by-wire steering mechanism. A steering reaction force is set that includes a restoration component for restoring a steering angle of the steering wheel to a reference angle, a viscous component corresponding to a steering angular velocity of the steering wheel, and a friction component corresponding to the steering angular velocity. An actuator is controlled to apply a rotational torque to the steering wheel for generating the steering reaction force. A turning angle of the steered wheel is controlled in accordance with the steering angle. A target travel path is set upon determining the driver is not operating the steering wheel. The actuator is controlled such that the steering angle becomes a target steering angle for causing the vehicle to travel along the target travel path to suppress the friction component of the steering reaction force.

Abstract: A steering control method for a vehicle including a steer-by-wire type wheel-turning mechanism in which a steering wheel and steered wheels are mechanically disconnected, the method including: detecting an actual steering angle of the steering wheel; calculating a target steering angle of the steering wheel on a basis of a target wheel-turning angle of the steered wheels; applying a steering reaction force to the steering wheel according to an angle deviation between the actual steering angle and the target steering angle; detecting a steering operation of the steering wheel by a driver; and when the steering operation by the driver is detected, reducing the steering reaction force according to the angle deviation compared with when the steering operation by the driver is not detected.
