Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for content cache invalidation using cache tags are provided. A first proxy hop may receive a request from a client device for a content object originating from a content source. A cache tagging script is executed to add a query parameter to the request to create a modified request. The query parameter specifies a cache tag version for the content object. The modified request is transmitted through one or more subsequent proxy hops to the content source to retrieve the content object. The content object, tagged with a cache tag specifying the cache tag version, is cached as a cached content object within a cache. The cache tag is associated with an expiration timestamp after which the cached content object is designated to be invalid.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for improving interactions with and between computers in content searching, hosting and/or providing systems supported by or configured with devices, servers and/or platforms. The disclosed systems and methods for efficiently monitoring and following up on delivered messages for which a user expects and/or requires a reply. The disclosed functionality provides a fully automated, personalized, easy and efficient way to identify and manage outgoing mail messages that require reply by marking outbound messages as RSVP messages, which are those messages determined to require a reply. Such functionality is based on the ability of the disclosed framework to distinguish between a “satisfactory response” (i.e., a response that includes the required information) and a response that is not.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for generating voice renderings of machine-generated electronic messages. The disclosed systems and methods provide a novel framework for organizing often fragmented machine-generated electronic messages and providing mechanisms for a virtual assistant to produce voice-renderings data extracted from electronic messages. The disclosed system may implement steps for receiving user queries via virtual assistants, extracting data from machine-generated electronic messages, converting the extracted data to purposeful organizational schemas, and generating human perceivable voice renderings based on the user queries and extracted data.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a statistical approach, a win share approach, used to assign a win share value to content items. User interaction with content items is tracked, and a win share value is assigned to content items in response to a “winning” action performed by a user. Win shares associated with content items are used to identify content items that are to be presented, and can further be used to identify an optimal presentation, e.g., layout, presentation frequency, etc., of content items that is to be presented.

Abstract: A method and system for generating recommendations across multiple product or service domains are disclosed. The system includes a plurality of domain servers for handling user events and for interfacing with users via the Internet, a database for storing the user events, and a recommendation engine. The recommendation engine further includes one or more computer programs containing instructions for collecting the user events across a plurality of product or service domains in the database, receiving a triggering event for recommendations, analyzing the user events to formulate correlations between the user events in the database, and generating recommendations in response to the triggering event in accordance with the correlations between the user events in the database. The disclosure uses user input data from different domains for producing recommendations in any of those domains. The disclosure allows for access to a greater amount of user input data which in turn improves the quality of recommendations.

Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for determining whether requests for content are fraudulent are provided. A request for content may be received from a first device. A first user profile associated with the first device may be identified. The first user profile may comprise activity information associated with the first device, demographic information associated with the first device and/or interest information associated with the first device. A user profile database may be analyzed to identify a set of user profiles similar to the first user profile. A relevance score associated with the request for content may be generated based upon the resource, the set of user profiles and/or the first user profile. The relevance score may be compared with a threshold relevance to determine whether the request for content is fraudulent.

Abstract: The present teaching relates to analyzing user behavior associated with web contents. Information related to user interactions associated with a content item placed on a reference property is first obtained. A measurement associated with each user interaction of the content item is determined based on the obtained information. An analyzing model for the content item which characterizes statistics of the measurements associated with the content item is further constructed. A measurement threshold to be used to determine a cost of placing the content item on a target property is further determined using the constructed analyzing model.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for improving interactions with and between computers in a content system supported by or configured with personal computing devices, servers and/or platforms. The systems interact to identify and retrieve data across platforms, which data can be used to improve the quality of data used in processing interactions between or among processors in such systems. The disclosed systems and methods determine a breaking news story and track breaking developments in such story. The present disclosure can construct a breaking news storyline from the developments in the detected breaking news story, whereby a user can view the storyline as individual breaking news messages or as a complete timeline of events displayed on a provided page.

Abstract: In an example, sets of event information associated with events may be identified. The events may include intentional click events, accidental click events and/or skip events. Accidental click probabilities associated with the accidental click events and/or the skip events may be determined. Machine learning model training may be performed, using the sets of event information associated with the events and labels associated with the events, to generate a first machine learning model. The labels may include second labels associated with the intentional click events and/or third labels associated with the accidental click events and/or the skip events. The second labels may correspond to an intentional click classification. The third labels may be based upon the accidental click probabilities. Click probabilities associated with content items may be determined using the first machine learning model. A content item may be selected for presentation via a client device based upon the click probabilities.

Abstract: A content delivery system for generating personalized content for a user. The system maintains an interest graph that shows the user's current attachment to one or more topics. When a user performs an action, a topic is determined for the action and the user's interest graph is modified based on the action. The system also receives content and analyzes the language of the content to determine a topic of the content. A similarity between the user's interests and the content is determined. The content is also analyzed to determine the popularity of the content. The user's interest level and the popularity of the content are then used to provide the user with a personalized content, such as a content recommendation or enhanced content.

Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for generating time-preserving embeddings are provided. User trails of user activities performed by users are generated. Frequencies at which the activities were performed are identified. Indices are assigned to a set of activities identified from the activities as having frequencies above a threshold. Activity descriptions of the set of activities are mapped to the indices to generate a vocabulary. A model is trained using the user trails, timestamps of the activities, and the vocabulary to learn a set of time-preserving embeddings.

The plurality of events may be associated with first entities corresponding to a first entity type and second entities associated with a second entity type. A first network profile associated with the first entities and the second entities may be generated based upon the event information. An iterative process may be performed to identify a coalition network associated with fraudulent activity. The iterative process may include analyzing the first network profile to identify a first set of entities, of the first entities, that are related to an entity of the second entities, and/or analyzing the first network profile to identify a second set of entities, of the second entities, that are related to the first set of entities. Multiple iterations may be performed to identify the coalition network.

Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for mailbox-based coupon display are provided. For example, a plurality of email messages stored in a mailbox of a first email account of a first user may be identified, and may be evaluated to identify a plurality of coupons. The plurality of coupons may be analyzed to determine one or more coupon features. User data and/or activity data associated with the first user may be analyzed to determine one or more user features. A predictive model may be tuned based upon the one or more coupon features and/or the one or more user features. A set of scores may be generated for the plurality of coupons based upon the predictive model. A graphical user interface may be controlled based upon the set of scores to display one or more coupons.

Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for facilitating communications with service providers using disposable email addresses (DEAs) are provided. A first email, associated with a requested service, may be received from an email account. A set of service providers may be determined based upon the requested service. A DEA corresponding to the email account may be generated. A second email, comprising an indication of the DEA, may be generated based upon the first email. The second email may be transmitted to a set of email accounts associated with the set of service providers. Emails received from the set of email accounts that are addressed to the DEA may be transmitted to the email account. Responsive to receiving a request to deactivate the DEA from a device associated with the email account and/or responsive to determining that the requested service is completed, the DEA may be deactivated.

Abstract: A method for presenting personalized content to a user includes receiving user data corresponding to a user having a user profile, the user data including at least one or more messages in a user mailbox and a user web browser history within a network, extracting one or more data tags from the received user data, associated at least one data tag with a message, finding information in the network that corresponds to the associated data tag, generating a notification for the user, the notification including the found information in the network, and outputting the generated notification to a user interface of a device of the user.

Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for video encoding are provided. For example, a video file may be segmented into at least a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may be analyzed to determine that the first portion is associated with a first level of complexity, and the second portion may be analyzed to determine that the second portion is associated with a second level of complexity. A first bitrate associated with the first level of complexity may be determined, and a second bitrate associated with the second level of complexity may be determined. The first portion may be encoded at the first bitrate to generate a first encoded portion, and the second portion may be encoded at the second bitrate to generate a second encoded portion. The first encoded portion and the second encoded portion may be assembled to generate an optimized video file.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for automatically deleting messages from a recipient's inbox. The disclosed systems and methods provide the ability for automatic actions to be taken on delivered messages based on a passage of time. This enables a sender of messages, email service provider and/or email platform to exert control over sent messages to limit the number and type of operations that may be performed on such messages. For example, operations such as saving, forwarding, printing, copying, or otherwise duplicating the message and/or message data can be prohibited and all together rendered impossible. The disclosed systems and methods enables the purging of messages and associated message data from a recipient's inbox at a certain specified time, after the passage of a pre-determined amount of time, or upon the detection of a specified event.

Abstract: In an example, a companion user account is generated without a user specifying a username of the companion user account, wherein the companion user account is different than a primary user account of the user. A first interface, that provides access to resources associated with the primary user account, is displayed via a client application. A second interface, that provides access to resources associated with the companion user account, is displayed via the client application. A content targeting profile associated with the companion user account is generated based upon activity associated with the companion user account and/or one or more interests selected by the user. A subset of content items is selected, from among a plurality of content items and based upon the content targeting profile, for presentation via the second interface associated with the companion user account. A content item of the subset of content items is displayed via the second interface.

Abstract: The present teaching relates to a method, system, and programming for encrypted searching. In a search session, a uniform resource locator (URL) is received, wherein a portion of the URL is encrypted via a first key. A second key associated with the first key is obtained. A determination is made regarding whether a time-related criterion associated with the second key is satisfied. In response to the time-related criterion being satisfied, the portion of the URL is decrypted based on the second key to obtain a keyword, one or more search results are obtained based on the keyword, and a webpage including the one or more search results to be provided to a user is generated.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for improving interactions with and between computers in content providing, searching and/or hosting systems supported by or configured with devices, servers and/or platforms. The disclosed systems and methods provide a framework for delivering electronic messages to a recipient in an optimized manner based on current real-world and digital activities associated with the recipient. Once a message sent by a sender is received by the message platform, the message and information related to a user's activity is analyzed, and a delivery condition is determined by the messaging platform. The platform then sends the message according to that delivery condition, such that it is delivered to the user only upon the platform relaying the message thereon when the condition is satisfied or occurs.

Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for controlling an output device are provided. For example, features are extracted from data points of an object. A set of data points are identified from the data points based upon the set of data points having features corresponding to target features. Marker elements are assigned to the set of data points. A mapping structure is used to assign output indicators to the marker elements. The output device is controlled to provide output indicators assigned to marker elements as the marker elements become a current focus of the user navigation.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for providing batch performance using a stream processor. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising receiving an event that includes a plurality of fields and extracting needed fields from the plurality of fields. The method then serializes the plurality of fields and generates a new event that includes the set of needed fields and a hidden field, the value of the hidden field comprising the serialized fields. The method then transmits the new event for processing using at least one processing stage of a stream processor. In response, the method reserializes a processed event generated by the stream processor and outputs the reserialized event to a downstream consumer.

Abstract: The present teaching, which includes methods, systems and computer-readable media, relates to providing query suggestions based on a number of data sources including person's personal data and non-personal data. The disclosed techniques may include receiving an input from a person, obtaining a first set of suggestions based on information from a first data source, presenting the first set of suggestions to the person, and presenting, to the person, a second set of suggestions obtained from a person corpus when a portion of the person corpus relevant to the input is accessible. The person corpus may be from a second data source that is private to the person.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for opting-out of targeted advertising in online advertising environments. One method includes receiving an opt-out verification request, the opt-out verification including an IP address of a user device and HTTP header fields of an HTTP request of the user device; determining a geographic area of the user device based on the IP address of the user device; accessing an opt-out database having entries of user devices that opted-out of receiving targeted advertising based on at least one HTTP header field of the HTTP request; determining whether the user device has opted-out of receiving targeted advertising based on the determined geographic area of the user device, the HTTP header fields of the HTTP quest, and the entries of user devices of the opt-out database; and transmitting a verification acknowledgement when the user device is determined to have opted-out of receiving targeted advertising.

In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising receiving a stream of events, where each event comprises a header including an event type field and a timestamp. and identifying that the header of a given event in the stream of events includes at least one secondary event in a list of secondary identifiers included in the header. A flag is set in a distributed database for the at least one secondary event, then writing the given event to a table in the distributed database occurs, the table selected based on a respective event type field and timestamp associated with the given event. Deduplicating the given event and the at least one secondary event in response to a close of books (COB) signal occurs, after which writing at least one deduplicated event to a storage device occurs, the at least one deduplicated event selected from the group consisting of the given event and the at least one secondary event.

Abstract: The present teaching relates to method, system, medium, and implementations for machine learning. A check is performed on a level of available bidding currency for bidding a training sample that is used to train a model via machine learning. A bid in an amount within the available bidding currency is sent, to a source of the training sample, for the training sample. The training sample is received from the source when the bid is successful. A prediction is then generated in accordance with the training sample based on one or more parameters associated with the model and is sent to the source.

Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments for providing batch performance using a stream processor. In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising completing a first audit for a primary event type, the first audit generating a set of primary events and completing a second audit for a secondary event type, the second audit generating a draft set of secondary events and an auxiliary feed of un-joined secondary events. The method then performs a join audit check on the auxiliary feed of un-joined secondary events and a set of flags, each flag in the set of flags indicating that a respective un-joined secondary event was properly joined. Based on the results of the join audit check, the method replays a subset of the un-joined secondary events in the auxiliary feed upon determining that the join audit check failed.

Abstract: The present teaching relates to method, system, and programming for evaluating expressions. An expression indicative of conditions and metadata associated therewith is obtained. A determination is made as to whether the expression corresponds to a modified version of an earlier expression based on the metadata. In response to a determination that the expression is the modified version of the earlier expression, a query associated with the modified expression is transmitted to a forecasting cluster so that the modified expression is to be evaluated by the forecasting cluster. In response to a determination that the expression does not have a corresponding earlier expression, the expression is evaluated.

Abstract: One or more computing devices, systems, and/or methods for time series trend root cause identification are provided. In particular, an overall trend of multi-dimensional time series data and element trends for measured elements of dimensions within the multi-dimensional time series data is identified. Weighted correlations between the element trends of the measured elements and the overall trend are calculated. The weighted correlations of the measured elements and aggregate weighted correlations of measured element combinations are evaluated to identify a set of measured elements having a threshold correlation to the trend.

In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising generating a tree representing a plurality of datasets; parsing the tree into an algebraic representation of the tree; identifying a plurality of terms in the algebraic representation, each term in the terms comprising at least two factors, each of the two factors associated with a dataset in the plurality of datasets; generating a metadata object of the plurality of terms; serializing the metadata object to generate serialized terms; and storing the serialized terms in a metadata file associated with the plurality of datasets.

The users' interactions thus recorded over time are analyzed to determine if the users have a balanced information intake. A reading habit score is determined for a user based various criteria. The user's reading habit score is analyzed to determine if the user's habits indicate a balance in the user's content consumption. If the user's reading habit score indicates an imbalance in the user's content consumption, suggestions are provided to the user for achieving a more balanced reading habit and thereby improving the user's reading habit score.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for sorting elements, such as bids in an auction environment or marketplace for the display of an advertisement on a web page. According to one implementation, a plurality of elements may be received over a network. For example, the plurality of elements may comprise a plurality of bids, each of which may include, for example, a bid price, a bid allocation, and a bid target. The received set of elements may be recursively partitioned into a plurality of element subsets. For example, the element set may be partitioned about a pivot selected from a sample set of elements chosen from the element set. A subset of elements may be identified from the element set as eligible elements (e.g., bids eligible for selection as a winning bid). Once the set of eligible elements has been identified, the recursive partitioning of elements may be terminated.

Abstract: The present teaching relates to streaming data querying and providing query results. In one example, a query is received for events happening after receipt of the query. A plurality of data records are obtained, where each of the data records corresponds to an event happening after receipt of the query. For each of the plurality of data records, it is determined whether the data record matches the query. Based on the determining, one or more query results are determined and provided as a response to the query.

Abstract: In an example, an article may be analyzed to identify entity terms. Entity term relevance scores associated with the entity terms may be determined based upon the article and the entity terms. One or more first entity terms may be selected based upon the entity term relevance scores. One or more sets of reference position information associated with the one or more first entity terms may be determined. A first set of reference position information is based upon one or more positions, in the article, of one or more references to a first entity term. One or more second entity terms of the one or more first entity terms may be selected based upon the one or more sets of reference position information. A set of one or more salient entity tags associated with the article may be generated based upon the one or more second entity terms.

Abstract: A system for generating an advertisement is provided. The system may receive an advertisement request from a client device and select an advertisement from a database in response to the advertisement request. The system may identify an advertiser web server associated with the advertisement, for example a landing page. The system may retrieve a picture from the advertiser web server and integrate the picture with the advertisement to generate an enhanced advertisement. The system may serve the enhanced advertisement to the client device.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for graph data modeling. In accordance with one implementation, a method is provided that includes operations performed by at least one processor. The operations of the method include receiving raw data and determining a model for the raw data, wherein the model defines the graph structure for the raw data. The method also includes converting the raw data to fit the model, and generating at least a portion of a graph based on the raw data and the model, wherein the graph produces modeled data. The method also includes archiving the graph.

Abstract: Information is collected about a user, e.g., the user's interests, from the user's interaction with digital messaging content. Information collected about the user can be used to identify an interest of the user. The identified interest(s) can be used to select content to be presented to the user. Abstract: Techniques for identifying and validating online content items for presentation to users are disclosed. Disclosed systems and methods use a sentiment analyzer to determine a sentiment of a candidate content item and collateral content items identified using keywords associated with the candidate content item, determine a measure of agreement in sentiment using the sentiments determined for the candidate content item and collateral content items, and provide at least a portion of the candidate content item in a display at a client computing device, the display including a consensus belief indicator representing the measure of agreement in sentiment.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are provided for determining a bid value for placing an advertisement onto advertising space available through an electronic marketplace. A method is used for calculating the option value of maintaining the advertisement in the advertising space during one or more periods of time. The option value may be based on expected profits and the estimated future value of maintaining the advertisement. The option value may then be used to calculate the bid price for placing the advertisement.

Abstract: The present teaching generally relates to providing optimized access control rules. A request may be received from a client device. A determination may be made, based on the request, that an update is needed for access control rule information for the client device. Rule data may be generated. The rule data may include a plurality of data buckets each including one or more access control rules, each data bucket of the plurality being associated with a range of destination port numbers, and where each of the one or more access control rules comprise a set of tuples having a common source network and source port number, and one or more destination port numbers associated with the common source network and source port number. The rule data may be sent to the client device.

Abstract: Methods for creating and updating rules for distribution of an online advertising inventory. The methods can include generating a rule conditions section of a GUI that is configured to display a plurality of parameters of a rule condition of a rule for distribution of an online advertising inventory. Each displayed parameter of the rule condition can be graphically represented by a basic shape (e.g., a hexagon). And, each basic shape of the rule condition can be labeled with an alphanumerical indication of the graphically represented parameter and can also be clustered together in the GUI. The methods can also include generating a rule summary section of the GUI that is configured to display a plurality of rule conditions of a rule. The methods can also include generating a rules list section of the GUI that is configured to display a plurality of rules for distribution of inventory.
