A messaging structure allows for adding, re-ordering and/or expanding data, within the printable character set of any language. One or more delimiters are defined and used to delimit data elements within the message structure. The data is interpreted based on templates which may be disseminated prior to the sending of messages and used as an abstraction so that the meaning of data need not be conveyed in the message.

In one embodiment, access is provided to voluminous card-holder transaction data detailing accurate-to-the-penny transaction amounts, twenty-four hour active customers, and a multi-year transaction history per customer. Furthermore, such data is captured in real-time, and due to the sample size, can provide granular, statistically significant information at a local level for client and merchant coverage.

Abstract: A processor-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product generates a recommendation for a worker to be included in a project team. A requisite skill set that is not presently needed, but will be needed in the future, by a project team is determined. Historical data that describe antecedent conditions, which caused a historical worker to obtain the requisite skill set, is received. A candidate worker's current skill set data is adjusted with skill set enhancers, which are available to members of the project team, to generate a predicted future skill set of the candidate worker. In response to the needed requisite skill set matching the predicted future skill set of the candidate worker, a recommendation is generated for adding that candidate worker to the project team.

Abstract: Computer systems and methods are disclosed for improving professional services delivery, such as services in a data management environment. In certain examples, computer systems comprise portals for transmitting and receiving information from parties involved in the performance and receipt of professional services. For instance, a first portal can receive data (e.g., from sales personnel) descriptive of a customer's product environment. A manager module populates a record with the data, and a second portal provides the customer with access to the record for review, correction and/or validation prior to the generation of a Statement of Work or other like project description. The second portal can also request additional information from the customer regarding the product environment. The manager module compares the data received through the first portal with the customer-entered information to identify and/or address discrepancies between the sets of data and customize the generation of the Statement of Work.

Abstract: A method for updating a forecast model is disclosed. The forecast model includes parameters that receives collected data representing historical dependent and causal data. The collected data are in different units of measure from one another. Based on the collected data, the forecast model is applied to determine a total error value from a calculation performed on the parameters in the forecast model. To update the forecast model, additional parameters are added, existing parameters are modified, or parameters are removed from the forecast model to determine a modified total error value. The modified total error value is then compared to the original total error value. The parameters are also converted to normalized values to be in a common unit of measure to facilitate the application of the forecast model to determine a total error value.

Each activity is derived from a different virtual data source.

Abstract: In general, the present invention provides a technique for IT estimation modeling of any organization. Although this estimation model is applied to SOA herein, it is not limited to solely estimating SOA activities; the maturity-based estimation modeling can be applied to other areas and disciplines, even beyond the IT industry. The maturity-based model of the present invention also offers executives and project managers a very effective estimating tool to analyze the impact of project variances. Resources do not need to be taken off projects and assigned to perform estimations, as this model acquires knowledge over time and delivers ever more precise estimates with each successive project. Executives and project managers may analyze the effects of additional staff, function changes, or other events to an overall project. Additionally, new projects may be estimated without utilizing current personnel with this adaptive learning model.

Abstract: A characteristic forecasting system is disclosed. The characteristic forecasting system may have a memory module and a processor. The memory module may store instructions, that, when executed, enable the processor to generate a forecast function that represents forecasted characteristics of a target item and includes one or more continuous functions and one or more attenuating functions. Each of the attenuating functions may attenuate forecast values generated by the continuous functions at periodic time intervals. The processor may also be enabled to forecast the characteristics of the target item using the forecast function.

Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for providing business process visibility at real time are described herein. One or more business activity events are received at a local business activity event manager. Further, business process binding information associated with the one or more business activity events is retrieved at the business activity manager from a business process model manager. A relationship of the one or more business activity events with a business process using the business process binding is identified at the business activity event manager. Upon determination, a business process log manager is triggered for logging a business activity log of a business process instance at real time. Furthermore, the business activity log is extracted to monitor and analyze the business process instance at real time.

Abstract: Weather information from one or a variety of locations is used to estimate costs for providing weather-dependent work, to audit weather-dependent work allegedly performed, and to improve billing and provide exception reporting for unbilled weather-dependent work such as snow removal and landscaping. A variety of stand-alone and networked computer systems, sensors, weather information sources, and historical data are used to provide such functions. To estimate costs to perform weather-dependent work at a first location, a weather information source providing weather information relating to a second location estimated to have weather similar to weather occurring at the first location is located, and a correlation is made between the weather information and a history of weather-dependent work at the first location to generate an estimated need for future weather-dependent work at the first location. Current weather information is used to perform auditing of invoiced work and to perform exception reporting.
