  • Patent number: 12002189
Abstract: The technology disclosed herein involves using a machine learning model (e.g., CNN) to expand lower dynamic-range image content (e.g., SDR images) into higher dynamic-range image content (e.g., HDR images). The machine learning model can take as input the lower dynamic-range image and can output multiple expansion maps that are used to make the expanded image appear more natural. The expansion maps may be used by image operators to smooth color banding and to dim overexposed regions or user interface elements in the expanded image. The expanded content (e.g., HDR image content) may then be provided to one or more devices for display or storage.

  • Patent number: 12003586
Abstract: In described examples, ownership of a network protocol-based session is distributed across multiple entities. A session is established between a remote entity and a first processing node on a local device, such that the first processing node is the session owner of the session on the local device. During the session, ownership of the session is transferred from the first processing node to a second processing node on the local device, such that the second processing node becomes the session owner of the session on the local device. The session is then operated between the remote entity and the second processing node as the session owner.

  • Patent number: 12002136
Abstract: Hairstyle transfer is challenging due to hair structure differences in the source and target hair. Latent Optimization of Hairstyles via Orthogonalization (LOHO) is an optimization-based approach using GAN inversion to infill missing hair structure details in latent space during hairstyle transfer. Hair is decomposed into three attributes: perceptual structure, appearance, and finer style, and includes tailored losses to model each of these attributes independently. Two-stage optimization and gradient orthogonalization enable disentangled latent space optimization of the three hair attributes. Using LOHO for latent space manipulation, users can synthesize novel photorealistic images by manipulating hair attributes either individually or jointly, transferring the desired attributes from reference hairstyles.
