Abstract: A method performed by a user device includes displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) on a touch screen, where the GUI includes a stack having a plurality of items. Each of the plurality of items is at least partially exposed to permit selection by a user, and each of the plurality of items includes content or provides access to content. The method further includes detecting an area of the touch screen that is touched by an instrument, and determining whether the touched area corresponds to an area of the stack or an area of one of the plurality of items. The method also includes determining a gesture corresponding to the touched area, performing an operation, corresponding to the gesture, on the stack or on the one of the plurality of items, and displaying, on the touch screen, content associated with the operation.

Abstract: A system and method for accessing multimedia items using an electronic device determines a set of first level categories based on multimedia items associated with the electronic device. The system determines second level category graphics and first level category graphics corresponding to the set of first level categories. The first level category graphics are generated based on one or more second level category graphics associated with the first level category. The system displays a first view that comprises some or all of the first level category graphics. In response to a user input selecting a particular first level category graphic, the system shows a second view that simultaneously displays first level category graphics and second level category graphics associated with the selected first level category. In response to a user input selecting a second level category, the system displays accesses a multimedia item associated with the selected second level category.

Abstract: Various embodiments related to the correction of typographical errors on touch displays are disclosed. One disclosed embodiment includes a portable computing device comprising a touch-sensitive display device, a logic subsystem, and memory comprising instructions executable by the logic subsystem to perform a method of correcting typographical errors displayed on the touch-sensitive display device. The instructions are executable to identify a typographical error within text displayed on the display, and upon identifying the typographical error, highlight on the display the typographical error.

Abstract: This document describes tools for inputting data into a computer via the movement of features of a user as detected by a webcam or other input device. This is accomplished by a user moving his or her features in view of a webcam. The webcam or other input device then detects the presence and motion of the feature(s) and converts these motions into input signals to execute predetermined input instructions.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a computer-implemented method performed at a portable electronic device with a touch screen display includes simultaneously displaying a character input area operable to display text character input and emoji character input selected by a user, a keyboard display area, and a plurality of emoji category icons. In response to detecting a gesture on a respective emoji category icon, the method also includes simultaneously displaying: a first subset of emoji character keys for the respective emoji category in the keyboard display area and a plurality of subset-sequence-indicia icons for the respective emoji category. The method also includes detecting a gesture in the keyboard display area and, in response: replacing display of the first subset of emoji character keys with display of a second subset of emoji character keys for the respective emoji category, and updating the information provided by the subset-sequence-indicia icons.

In one example embodiment, a user interface for navigating structured content includes a grid and a plurality of multi-dimensional cells each having a unique position in the grid. Each cell is configured to display only a first dimension of structured content before selection and display one or more additional dimensions of structured content upon selection.

Abstract: A method for providing content related to a multimedia program on a display device where currently viewed multimedia programs are monitored so that content related to the currently viewed multimedia program may be retrieved from a content source and displayed on a flexible user interface on the display device upon request by the user, in which the user is able to adjust a size and position of the flexible user interface on the display device.

Abstract: System and methods to visually present assets and access platforms for the assets are provided. A particular method includes receiving asset data associated with an asset and user data associated with a user. The method includes determining available platforms for the asset from the asset data and the user data. The method includes generating a display including information identifying the asset and an icon corresponding to an access platform in the available platforms. The icon includes a first indicator when the user has an access right to the asset for the access platform. The icon includes a second indicator distinct from the first indicator when the user does not have an access right to the asset for the access platform.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide apparatuses and methods for providing a graphical user interface on the display device, where the graphical user interface includes a graph viewing tool for charting data. The graph viewing tool includes: (a) a first display area displaying a first axis and a second axis of a graph, the first axis representing a first parameter of the data over a first range of values; (b) a second display area displaying a third axis representing the first parameter over a second range of values; and (c) a first tool and a second tool displayed in the second display area proximate the third axis, wherein the first tool and the second tool are configured such that they can be moved relative to each other and relative to the third axis to increase or decrease the first range of values displayed along the first axis in the first display area.

Abstract: Quarantining data received while a computing device is locked. While the computing device is locked, content items such as images, notifications, voice memos, telephone numbers, and the like are stored in a first memory area. The content items are transferred to a second memory area, separate from the first memory area, based on transfer criteria associated with the content items. For example, images may be automatically uploaded to a web page after the computing device is unlocked, while a mail program executes to display any messages received while the display has been locked. In some embodiments, the user inputs the content items into a locked mobile computing device and further provides the transfer criteria for the content items.

Abstract: A computer readable medium storing a media editing application for creating media presentations is described. The application includes a graphical user interface (GUI). The GUI has (1) a composite display area for displaying graphical representations of a set of media clips that are part of the composite presentation and (2) a navigation tool including several selectable navigation markers associated with several navigable locations in the composite presentation. The selection of a navigation marker causes the composite display area to present the navigable location in the composite presentation that is associated with the selected navigation marker.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for facilitating detection of a presence or an absence of at least one underground facility within a dig area. Source data representing one or more input images of a geographic area including the dig area is electronically received at a first user location, which may be remote from the dig area. The source data is processed so as to display at least a portion of the input image(s) on a display device. One or more indicators are added to the displayed input image(s), via a user input device associated with the display device, to provide at least one indication of the dig area and thereby generate a marked-up digital image. In the case of a staged excavation project, the input image, or a plurality of associated images, may include indicia of multiple dig areas corresponding to multiple stages of the staged excavation project.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide system level information technology security requirements. A requirements component outputs prompts via a user interface, including questions regarding a type of data associated with a project application, how the project application authenticates and authorizes users, a processing and storage characterization of the project application and corresponding sets of selectable responses. The component receives selections of at least one of each set of selectable responses, identifies a set of security requirements for the project application based on the selections, and outputs the set of security requirements via the user interface to assist an application team in developing the project application. The component may identify a security test associated with at least one of the set of security requirements, and output the identification of the security test.
