  • Patent number: 6517753
Abstract: A method and a device for continuous forming of a mat of particle lignocellulosic material by means of a batching unit (12) with a distribution chamber (15) in connection with the manufacture of board. The material is deposited on a continuous forming web (16), and the width of the mat is controlled by means of laterally movable partition walls (30) in the distribution chamber (15). The main part of the material is deposited on the forming web (16) between the partition walls (30), and the partial amount of the particle material dropping outside the partition walls (30) is diverted by means (32) and discharged separately in the distribution chamber (15) and re-used in the mat forming, in that it is directly placed as a surface layer of the mat by distribution means (35).

  • Patent number: 6499984
Abstract: A single pass, continuous, automated system for producing a pharmaceutical granulation includes multiple feeders to feed powders and liquids, a twin screw processor to granulate, a radio frequency or microwave based drying apparatus to dry the granulation, and at least one mill to process the dried granulation to desired particle sizes. The system incorporates means for monitoring key process parameters on-line, all of which are controlled by a controller provided with feedback at each component of the system. The granulation produced can be compressed into a tablet or incorporated into a capsule, both having a uniform distribution of the active ingredient. The system produces product having consistent properties even when production is scaled up for manufacture of the tablet in commercial volume.

  • Patent number: 6461549
Abstract: A method of producing a biodegradable product. which is intended, for instance, for only temporarily containing foodstuffs, or of producing objects such as a container for snacks, a beaker for hot or cold, drinks, etc., which product is. manufactured under pressure and heat in a mold from a basic material. The method is characterized in that the composition of the basic material consists of a moist granulate consisting of 50-250 parts by weight amylose-comprising flour derived from an edible crop plant, 10-85 parts by weight wood flour, 2-30 parts by weight natural wax and 50-250 parts by weight water and optionally a natural colorant as an additive.

  • Patent number: 6451235
Abstract: A method is disclosed for forming from a fiber slurry a three-dimensional fiber truss. The forming method involves compressing a fiber slurry or a fiber pulp between a pair of rigid foraminous dies to rapidly drive out most of the carrier fluid. The fiber retained between the dies is compacted into a pre-form fiber truss. The pre-form fiber truss is subsequently dried and consolidated in a heated press to produce a finished fiber truss. In panel applications, the fiber truss can be used by itself, or combined with other fiber trusses, to form a light-weight structural core for sandwich panels. Sandwich panels have numerous uses in packaging, material handling, construction, and furniture industries. Specific products include bulk bins, heavy-duty boxes, shipping containers, wall panels, roof panels, cement forms, partitions, poster displays, reels, desks, caskets, shelves, tables, and doors.

  • Patent number: 6409951
Abstract: A process for producing an inorganic molded product, which comprises a step of preparing a hardenable composition comprising 100 parts by mass of an acid metal phosphate, from 80 to 200 parts by mass of its hardener, and from 0.1 to 10 parts by mass of urea, a step of combining 100 parts by mass of the hardenable composition and from 5 to 100 parts by mass of an inorganic reinforcing material to obtain a molding material, a step of molding the molding material into a desired shape to obtain a semi-rigid material, and a step of heating the semi-rigid material at a temperature of at least 120° C. to complete hardening.
