Abstract: A medical device system is disclosed including a high-density arrangement of transducers, which may be configured to ablate, stimulate, or sense characteristics of tissue inside a bodily cavity, such as an intra-cardiac cavity. High-density arrangements of transducers may be achieved, at least in part, by overlapping elongate members on which the transducers are located, and varying sizes, shapes, or both of the transducers, especially in view of the overlapping of the elongate members. Also, the high-density arrangements of transducers may be achieved, at least in part, by including one or more recessed portions in an elongate member in order to expose one or more transducers on an underlying elongate member in a region adjacent an elongate-member-overlap region.

Abstract: Disclosed are thermoregulatory systems. In particular, thermoregulatory devices are incorporated into garments for warming and cooling a user's body. Thermoregulatory devices are waterproof and breathable, which allow thermogenerators such as hot packs and cold packs, to remain dry while still allowing air flow such that thermogenerators using air-activated chemical reactants remain active. Thermoregulatory devices are particularly useful with garments maintaining the thermogenerators close to the body's core where they will be most effective. The thermoregulation systems advantageously allow a user to selectively position thermoregulatory devices in different regions of the user's body to self-regulate core body temperature.

Abstract: A clamp electrode apparatus comprises first and second clamps which are mechanically connected to form a single integrated device and arranged side by side such that a first edge of the first clamp faces a second edge of the second clamp. A channel is defined between the first and second edges for aligning a visible mark feature of a limb, such as a malleolus or ulnar head, within the opening or channel when the first and second clamps clamp the limb. When the limb is clamped with the clamp electrode apparatus multiple times, the visible mark feature can be aligned with reference to the channel. Thus, electrodes attached to the clamps contact generally the same locations even if the clamp electrode apparatus is removed after each measurement and is not kept on the limb throughout the multiple measurements.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a neural implant comprising a biomaterial having an outer surface with a stochastic nanoroughness (Rq), and the application of said stochastic nanoroughness in the diagnosis and/or treatment of a neurological disorder, such as, for example, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, glioblastoma and/or for disrupting and/or preventing glial scars in the context of mammalian mechanosensing ion channels selected from the family of PIEZO-1 and PIEZO-2 ion channels.

Abstract: The electrode equipment of the present disclosure includes a first electrode, a second electrode having a different electrical polarity from the first electrode, and a sensor for detecting a vertical direction. The electrical polarities of the first electrode and the second electrode are determined based on output of the sensor.
Abstract: A hand tool has a pivot connection pivotally attaching a first arm to a second arm, with the pivot connection fixed relative to the first arm and movable to first and second positions relative to the second arm. A spring urges the pivot connection into the first position. When jaws on the front ends of the arms clamp tissue with force greater than a pre-set threshold, the spring force is overcome and the jaws may move linearly apart, allowing for more uniform clamping of the tissue. The first arm may have an arm spring extending between a front segment pivotally attached to a rear segment of the first arm.

Abstract: Treatment systems, methods, and apparatuses for improving the appearance of skin and other treatments are described. Aspects of the technology are directed to improving the appearance of skin by reducing a vascular structure. A non-invasive cooling device can cover and cool the vascular structure to affect the blood vessels of the vascular structure.
Abstract: Non-invasive “drawable”, or “paintable”, electrode for electrical stimulation or biological signal sensing comprising a pervious and electrically conductive layer (1), at least one electrically insulating element (2) for maintaining the electrically conductive layer (1) separated from the skin (11), and a conductive material (3) that is deposed using a delivery system (4) on desired areas (5) of the electrically conductive layer (1). The conductive material (3) can penetrate the electrically conductive layer (1) and any other part of the electrode underlying the desired areas (5), thus reaching the skin. The conductive material (3) creates an electrical connection between the desired areas (5) of the electrically conductive layer (1) and the skin. Therefore, the shape of the desired areas (5) electrically connected with the skin, can be customized by the user deposing (or “drawing”) the conductive material (3).
