Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, apparatus, article of manufacture, method and/or computer program product embodiments, and/or combinations and sub-combinations thereof, for recommending content based on user behavior tracking and analysis. Tracking data for a user indicating how the user interacted with a menu structure of a streaming media application is determined. A group from a plurality of user groups into which to group the user is selected based on the tracking data, wherein each group comprises data from a plurality of users. A plurality of content available for recommendation selection is determined. A first one of the plurality of content is selected as a content recommendation based on previous viewing patterns associated with the plurality of users of the selected group. The content recommendation is provided via the menu structure.

Abstract: A method for auditing an advertisement impression in which a first advertisement was presented in conjunction with first media content is disclosed. The method generally comprises transmitting to a plurality of second computing devices a plurality of randomly generated first cryptographic proofs; receiving, a first message from a second computing device indicating that the first advertisement was presented in conjunction with the first media content; and evaluating the first targeting model for the first advertisement based on the at least one media content classifier.

Abstract: A content selection menu is generated and provided to a user. The content selection menu includes a plurality of audiovisual (AV) programs that are provided for user selection. The AV programs may be positioned in the content selection menu in accordance with their associated score for content attributes. Upon providing the content selection to a user, the user may select a program for viewing or the user may indicate interest in a program. If the user indicates interest in a program a second content selection menu is generated based at least in part on the attributes of the program of interest.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed herein that increase a match rate for over-the-top media. An example apparatus includes an audience measurement interface to receive a first signature of media monitored by a panelist meter and a media element analyzer to compare the first signature to a reference signature stored in a reference database, in response to the first signature not matching the reference signature, compare the first signature to a preliminary signature stored in a preliminary database, determine a number of hits associated with a media element based on the second comparison, and when the number of hits meets a threshold, generate a second signature of the media element, the second signature having a greater duration than the preliminary signature, wherein the second signature is an expanded version of the preliminary signature.

Abstract: A live broadcast is depicted, in this case a golf tournament. The broadcast is depicted on a television screen of a user, substantially in real time. In a television studio, which may be close to the site of the live broadcast, or may be remote therefrom, a commentator or pundit records segments of video analysis. The video image is sent to a server. The video clip of the commentator is then downloadable by the user using a device such as a mobile phone or tablet. The user can then view the additional content—the video segment of the commentator—on his device. Using the techniques of positioning and anchoring as described herein, the user can enjoy the video segment as though the commentator were present in the room, by viewing the room through a camera of the device.

Abstract: A method of supporting Adaptive Bit Rate, ABR, video resolution shaping of a video data stream of a video session transferred by a User Plane Function, UPF, in a Service Based Architecture, SBA, domain. The video resolution shaping is performed by the UPF implementing a Reinforcement Learning Agent, RLA, operating with an observation space having a determined video resolution of a received video data stream, a reward space having a reward referring to a required video resolution, and an action space having video resolution shaping levels to be applied at the received video data stream. Complementary methods and devices for performing such a method in an SBA domain deployed in a telecommunications system are disclosed.

Abstract: A playout system for providing playout of fragmented video content is provided. The system includes a non-transitory data store and a processor. The processor is configured to playout content for video origination using a fragmented format. The processor can receive a playlist and generate a plurality of video fragments from source content. A transcoder can process video fragments based on one or more program scheduling requirements from the playlist to generate new video fragments. A manifest is updated to reference the new video fragments. The process can output a video stream based on the new video fragments.

The device control module identifies media devices in a local network, such as a LAN. The device control module selects a media device from the identified media devices. Next the device control module selects content to be displayed on the selected media device. Abstract: Methods and apparatus to measure exposure to streaming media are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a processor, and memory including machine readable instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to: extract a series of tags associated with media playing on a presentation device, different ones of the tags in the series of the tags embedded in the media at different temporal positions within a duration of the media; identify a first tag from the series of tags to report to a central facility, the first tag identified based on a temporal proximity of the first tag to an event associated with the media playing on the presentation device; and transmit the identified first tag to the central facility, other tags in the series of tags not being transmitted to the central facility.

Abstract: A digital content recording network controller device determines a first content of a set of content to be more likely to be requested by a user of a content access device than a second content of the set of content based on monitored behavior of the user. The device stores the first content in a first storage device of a tiered group of storage devices and stores the second content in a second storage device of the tiered group of storage devices wherein the content access device is located closer to the first storage device than the second storage device. This balances storage load with accessibility, resulting in a faster responding system that does not require as much storage.

Abstract: A system and methods are disclosed that enable advertisers, publishers, and consumers to interact to provide well-targeted advertisement impressions, while preserving consumer privacy. Particularly, the system and methods enable accurate and reliable targeting of advertisements without the need for privacy-invasive tracking and collection of consumer information by advertisers or publishers. Instead, the consumer retains complete control of his or her own private information, even while that private information is used for programmatic targeting of advertisements. The system and methods disclosed herein advantageously utilize blockchain as a tool for arbitrating data, which accounts for and helps to eliminate fraud, costly arbitrage, and brand safety concerns by providing the programmatic advertising ecosystem with trust, permanence, transparency, and auditability.
