  • Patent number: 11720968
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring use, determining risk, and pricing insurance policies for a vehicle having autonomous or semi-autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, a computer-implemented method for generating or updating usage-based insurance policies for autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles may be provided. A request to generate an insurance quote may be received via wireless communication, and with the customer's permission, risk levels associated with intended usage by the customer of an autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicle may be determined. An insurance policy may be adjusted based upon the risk levels and the intended vehicle usage. The insurance policy may then be presented on the customer's mobile device for review and approval. In some aspects, the vehicle may be rented, and the intended vehicle usage is measured in distance or duration of vehicle operation. Insurance discounts may be provided to risk averse vehicle owners based upon low risk levels.

  • Patent number: 11604071
Abstract: Using a planning circuit of a vehicle, a map is accessed that includes information identifying at least one lane on which vehicles can travel. Using the planning circuit and from the map, a graph representing a driving environment of the vehicle is generated. The graph includes multiple trajectories. At least one trajectory includes a lane change. Each trajectory is a path for the vehicle to move from a first spatiotemporal location to a second spatiotemporal location. The trajectory includes at least one lane alone which the vehicle can move. Using the planning circuit, a trajectory of the multiple trajectories for the vehicle to travel is selected based on an initial vehicle trajectory of the vehicle. The selected trajectory includes a stem. The stem is a portion of the selected trajectory to which the vehicle is configured to adhere. Using the control circuit, the vehicle is moved along the selected trajectory.

  • Patent number: 11578520
Abstract: A commercial vehicle used for parcel delivery is installed with a control module. The control module communicates wirelessly with a transmitter to give control to the vehicle operator. The vehicle operator can access the vehicle's cargo compartment through the bulkhead door and/or the rear door solely by using the transmitter as opposed to manually actuating the door latch. A door actuator is added to the bulkhead door such that when the bulkhead door is wirelessly actuated the door opens without operator assistance, and the process of the door opening does not damage the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicle operator can initiate the control module to allow a push-button start and stop of the vehicle's ignition system. Such elements contribute to time savings and cost savings for parcel delivery operators.

  • Patent number: 11580541
Abstract: A method and system are disclosed in an electronic payment network, for associating a payment card of a cardholder with a personal computing device of the cardholder, then authenticating the payment card in electronic transactions processed in the network. The card and a device activation code are input to the cardholder device by the cardholder, then communicated sent to a remote server for obtaining a card token. The server generates a device token and an authorisation token, stores the generated tokens together with the card token, and sends the card and device tokens to the cardholder device for storage. Whenever a transaction is processed in the network, the payment card is authenticated by inputting authenticating data to the cardholder device for generating an authorisation token, which is sent to the server with the stored card and device tokens, for a matching operation against the card, device and authorisation tokens at the server.

  • Patent number: 11568485
Abstract: Embodiments of the transmission latency leveling apparatuses, methods and systems provide an electronic bidding order management infrastructure, such as a “point-of-presence,” which receives and routes electronic trading orders from different trading entities at a server via a transmission medium to create a certain amount of transmission latency before the trading orders could arrive at and be executed at electronic exchanges to reduce latency arbitrage and/or order book arbitrage that may be experienced by high frequency trading participants. A similar transmission latency may be applied to the egress transmission of market data updates issued by an electronic exchange. Other techniques for facilitating electronic trading are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11562440
Abstract: A method that predicts business income from user transaction data. A multinomial classifier is trained, using a vector of features from data related to a historical transaction and a label associated with the historical transaction, to generate a probability that the historical transaction belongs to a specific classification with respect to income. Data related to a new transaction is split into a set of unigrams. A new vector of features is generated from the data related to the new transaction. The new vector includes a set of values that correspond and are assigned to the set of unigrams. A classification with respect to income is determined for the new transaction by applying the multinomial classifier to the new vector. The new transaction is labeled with the classification. One or more fields of a form that is maintained by an online service is populated using the classification.
