Abstract: The present invention discloses an apparatus and a method for automatically designing a jig comprising at least one part. In this apparatus and method, the kind of a jig and the kind of a workpiece to be worked on are first specified, a basic linkage mode which basically shows a linkage between the parts of the specified jig is then searched for, and structural models of the parts forming the jig are successively generated by using at a starting point data with respect to a position of the workpiece to be worked on by the jig on the basis of the basic linkage model searched for.
Abstract: A predetermined figure element (C.sub.2) already defined is designated, and a figure definition statement of the designated figure element (C.sub.2) is revised to produce a figure element (C.sub.2 '). When an error occurs in the figure definition statement of another figure element (S.sub.1) owing to the revision of the above-mentioned figure definition statement, the figure definition statement (M) in which the error has occurred is displayed on a display screen (106) to make revision possible, namely the another figure element (S.sub.1) specified by the figure definition statement in which the error has occurred and a figure element (C.sub.3) defined using the another figure element (S.sub.1) are displayed in colors that differ from each other, and the figure definition statement in which the error occurred is revised.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the delignification process by monitoring and minimizing variations in the Kappa Number and the digester residual chemical concentration. A parameter representative of the H factor for the delignification process and a measurement of the initial chemical concentration are utilized to produce signals representative of the actual Kappa Number and the residual acid concentration in the digester. The expected perturbations in Kappa Number and the residual chemical concentration are compared with target values for same to produce estimated errors due to mismatch which are compared with actual measured errors for these parameters to produce compensated control errors for same.

Abstract: A system for retail trading comprises an image storing arrangement storing images of items being traded (e.g. carpets), an image index arrangement connected with the said storage arrangement and containing identifiers for the images therein, an image retrieval arrangement and display means (e.g. a video screen) for displaying retrieved images. A transaction data processing arrangement includes a data input arrangement by which the displayed image identifier is automatically input from the input arrangement. Composite images can be handled.
Abstract: An apparatus for reducing image artifacts in NMR imaging matches elements of a set to values of a substantially periodic function so that the values exhibit a predetermined relationship to the elements. The matching is performed by evaluating the relative probability of the values of the substantially periodic function from the samples in the growing database of the values and assigning the values to the elements by using the evaluated relative probability, so as to maximize the probability that subsequent valves may be assigned the remaining elements according the predetermined relationship. A method for correcting the matching of values with elements freezes the database and acquires additional values which are substituted for earlier matched values based on the frozen database.
Abstract: Parallel accumulation of the density functions of image picture elements is done for a number of elements located at the same radial distance from the axis of rotation for the fan-beam scanner. This allows the computation of weighting factor to be done in common for these elements, as well as the computation of interpolation coefficients for ray sums not registering exactly with x-ray detectors.
Abstract: An apparatus for debugging a data flow program simulates functions corresponding to a plurality of structural portions of a processing apparatus in accordance with a data flow program stored in a program file. The state of execution corresponding to respective lines of a source program of the executed plurality of functional portions are stored in a PS file and the processes in respective functional portions and the states of execution employed for the execution of the source program are stored in a data packet file. A debug information file (22) stores the debug information indicative of the corresponding relation between the respective lines of the source program and respective nodes of the data flow program. A display displays debug information in association with respective lines of the source program in accordance with the execution of respective nodes of the data flow program.
