Abstract: Many herbicidal compositions have been developed and are presently used. However, weeds to be controlled are various in types and their emergence extends over a long period. Accordingly, it is desired to develop a herbicidal composition which has a broad herbicidal spectrum, a high activity and a long-lasting effect. The present invention provides a herbicidal composition comprising (A) flazasulfuron or its salt and (B) at least one protoporphyrinogen oxidase inhibitor selected from the group consisting of a phenylpyrazole compound, a triazolinone compound, a N-phenylphthalimide compound, a pyrimidindione compound, an oxadiazole compound, an oxazolidinedione compound, a thiadiazole compound, pyraclonil, profluazol, flufenpyr-ethyl and their salts. According to the present invention, a herbicidal composition which has a broad herbicidal spectrum, a high activity and a long-lasting effect can be provided.
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling and/or preventing infestation of a woody plant by one or more species of pests are provided. In one particular but non-limiting form, a composite member is positioned at a locus near a woody plant that is susceptible to damage by one or more wood-destroying pest species such as termites. The composite member includes a pesticide and a bait material palatable to the one or more wood-destroying pest species. In one aspect, the composite member includes an extruded mixture of the pesticide and bait material. Further embodiments, forms, features, and aspects shall become apparent from the description and drawings.
Abstract: The invention provides an inoculant comprising Pseudomonas diazotrophicus and a carrier, which is useful for enhancing plant growth. The invention also provides a method of producing a plant which comprises applying an inoculant comprising Pseudomonas diazotrophicus and a carrier to plant or the growth medium of the plant.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a water-soluble granule formulation of 2,4-D salt, comprising components in the following weight percent: 5-80% 2,4-D salt (calculated as 2,4-D acid), and a water-soluble filler as the balance. The water-soluble granule formulation of 2,4-D salt has an outstanding control efficiency on annual or perennial Poaceae weeds and some broadleaf weeds in fields of soybean and other Fabaceae plants, for example, such weeds as amaranth, knotweed, lamb's-quarters night shade, siberian cocklebur, barnyard grass, foxtail grass, digitaria sanguinalis, broomcorn millet and the like. The formulation is environment-friendly, and has the advantages of being free of organic solvents and dusts and being easy to measure in comparison to conventional emulsifiable formulation, wettable powder formulation and suspension formulation. The present invention also discloses the preparation method of the formulation. The production process is simple, economical and safe.

Abstract: Provided is a method for seed priming comprising the steps of treating seed with a seed priming composition comprising sieved compost, hydrogel and water in a ratio of sieved compost:hydrogel:water of from about 5:1:4.75 to about 9:1:11 by weight in an amount sufficient to result in priming of the seed. In some embodiments, the seed is treated with from about 2 to about 39 grams of the seed priming composition per gram of seed. In preferred embodiments, the seed composition and the seed priming composition are free of soil or sand. In further preferred embodiments, the seed is blended with the seed priming composition at a temperature of about 5° C. to about 25° C.
