  • Patent number: 10129858
Abstract: Certain aspects relate to methods and apparatus for latency reduction for UEs in a RRC connected mode. During contention-based uplink access by groups of UEs within a subframe, an eNB may decode the received uplink transmission based, at least in part, on the assigned group of resources assigned to the UE and used for transmission. Additional orthogonalization techniques such as reduced TTI size can be used to reduce collisions among different users performing contention-based transmissions. Furthermore, when the eNB fails to successfully decode the uplink transmission, the eNB may identify the UE that sent the uplink transmission based on a detected reference signal and may transmit an uplink assignment to the identified UE.

  • Patent number: 10111185
Abstract: A communication device receives a signal during a backoff period of a backoff procedure, wherein the communication device is part of a first communication network. In response to determining that i) the signal is valid, ii) the signal is from another communication network, and iii) the power level of the signal does not meet a threshold that is higher than a default threshold, the communication device continues a count of a backoff timer during reception of the signal. In connection with comparing the power level of the signal to the threshold higher than the default threshold, the communication device sets a transmit power level to a reduced power level that is lower than a default power level. The communication device transmits at a transmit power level that is less than or equal to the reduced transmit power level in response to the backoff timer expiring.

  • Patent number: 10057910
Abstract: Multiplexed unequal error protection for wireless networks is disclosed. A device may determine reliability associated with a first subcarrier of a channel including the first subcarrier and at least one second subcarrier. The reliability of the first subcarrier may be determined based on the position of the first subcarrier relative to each at least one second subcarrier. High priority data may be assigned to the first subcarrier for transmission if the first subcarrier is determined to have a higher reliability than the at least one second subcarrier. For example, the channel may be an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) channel and higher reliability may be associated with a first subcarrier that is in a middle position of the plurality of subcarriers within the OFDM channel. In another example, higher reliability may be associated with a first OFDM subcarrier that is adjacent to an unused OFDM channel bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 10044625
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for hash level load balancing for removal of duplicate network packets to form deduplicated packet streams. Hash values for input packets are used in part to select deduplication engines to receive hash data associated with received input packets, and this hash data is then forwarded to the selected deduplication engines for deduplication processing. The hash level load balancing reduces bandwidth requirements within the deduplication processing as compared to prior packet-based load balancing solutions for deduplication systems. Additional embodiments utilize port identifiers in addition to hash values to allow for increased flexibility in deduplication of packets from multiple input ports.
