  • Patent number: 11066857
Abstract: A motor vehicle actuation device includes a functional element supported on a carrier housing for rotation about a rotational axis and movement between a standby position and an operating position, a drive device disposed on the carrier housing, and a control element in a drive connection with the drive device, which is designed to move the functional element from the standby position into the operating position when the drive device is activated. The control element is moved from a home position into a final actuation position via an initial actuation position when the drive device is activated. The control element forces the functional element from the standby position into the operating position when it moves from the home position into the initial actuation position. The control element retains the functional element in the operating position when it moves from the initial actuation position into the final actuation position.

  • Patent number: 11047150
Abstract: An exemplary strike box is configured for use with a lockset including a bolt operable to move in an extending direction and a retracting direction. The strike box includes a housing having an opening sized and configured to receive the bolt, and further includes a bolt-slowing mechanism mounted in the housing. The bolt-slowing mechanism is configured to engage the bolt as the bolt moves in the extending direction, and to exert a force urging the bolt in the retracting direction. The force exerted by the bolt-slowing mechanism slows the extension speed of the bolt, such that the strike box reduces noise generated during such extension.

  • Patent number: 11041333
Abstract: A door security system is provided which is used to prevent a door, which separates first and second spaces, from opening. The door security system includes a security apparatus which is configured to be engaged with the floor within a first space. If the door is to be opened into the first space, the security apparatus blocks the door from opening into the first space. If the door is to be opened into the second space, an attachment assembly of the door security system acts in concert with the attachment assembly to block the door from opening into the second space. The door security system further includes a release mechanism which can be manipulated from the second space to disengage the security apparatus within the first space, thereby allowing for the door to be opened into either the first or second spaces, as appropriate.

  • Patent number: 10961754
Abstract: A gate hold open device is configured to hold the gate open at any point along the swing of the gate. A mounting bracket hingedly secures one end of a prop leg to the gate. A sliding handle hangs from the gate to secure the prop leg to the gate when the gate is in a closed position and the device is disengaged or stored. The sliding handle is lifted from the gate such that the prop leg can pivot or rotate about the mounting bracket and fall to the ground. The gate can then be flung open, and the prop leg will drag along the ground until the gate begins to swing back toward the closed position. The prop leg jams into the ground, holding the gate open until a user lifts the prop leg and hangs the sliding handle back on the gate.

  • Patent number: 10927575
Abstract: A fireplace latch system has a pivotable latch retained within a latch retainer. One or more springs between the pivotable latch and latch retainer bias the latch towards two stable positions, an opened position and a closed position. In the closed position, one or more surface contacting elements extend through the latch retainer and exert a force on a frame for a glass panel to secure the glass panel and frame to the fireplace. The latch system allows the glass panel and frame to move outwards to release pressure in the event of an explosion within the combustion chamber of the fireplace.

  • Patent number: 10920469
Abstract: An adjustable stop limits sliding sash window/door travel between a closed position and a safe position, where the safe position is a position less than a full-open position. The stop can be installed upon window/door master frames during initial manufacturing, or as an after-market option while the sash windows/doors are in service in a building. The safety stop may be comprised of a housing and a tumbler being pivotally mounted within a cavity in the housing, with a spring to bias the tumbler out of an opening in the housing. Mounting is by a flange extending from the housing, with spacers of varying thickness that are capable of removably attaching thereon to accommodate sash to master frame height differences. A safety member may be added to either the tumbler or housing to create a double action stop, requiring disengagement of the safety member, prior to toggling of the stop.
