Abstract: Portable, mobile, lightweight, removable, low cost, easy to manufacture, easy to ship, easy to transport, easy to store, and easy to use optical adapters that provides an effective means of videoconferencing over a mobile phone or other mobile device with a camera. Embodiments include landscape and portrait adapters that can be easily applied, used and removed while maintaining a professional and aesthetic appearance. Small mirrors within the optical adapter allow light from the front of the mobile device to enter the adapter and be conditioned and redirected into the built-in lens of the camera on the back of the mobile device. Novel embodiments include a lens reverser and/or a re-lens. Optical adapters also provide for self-imaging or surveillance. Various protective cases and adapter embodiments are configured to match specific mobile devices.

Abstract: A method at a computing device includes obtaining time-varying teleconferencing data of a teleconference session with two or more participants, where the teleconferencing data includes one or more of audio data and video data, determining one or more participant quality signals for at least one of the participants based on the teleconferencing data, where at least one of the participant quality signals varies over time; determining for at least one of the participants participant quality metrics based on the participant quality signals; and providing to at least one of the participants information corresponding to the participant quality metrics, where the information is provided in one or more of graphical, textual, and audible form.

Abstract: Agencies issue multiple devices to personnel for maintaining distinct identities over the course of assigned investigations. To provide flexible capabilities to agencies, a phone is converted for use with multiple attached telephone numbers. Accordingly, a single phone may be used to manage multiple identities over the course of one or more investigations. Using a multiple attached number, a given device can place and receive calls over the network to and from contacts. In addition to providing multiple attached numbers, calls using the multiple attached numbers may be monitored live and recorded to establish evidence.

Abstract: A dynamic voice user interface system is provided. The dynamic voice user interface system interacts with a user at a first level of formality. A content-provider can purchase or otherwise acquire the rights to insert their user-specific content into another content provider's user-generic content. Both the user-specific and user-generic content can be provided to the user by means of a voice-controlled device associated with a cloud-based profile of the user. A user can interact with the personalized content to receive supplemental information.

Abstract: An online conferencing system that provides an automatic mechanism to broadcast an online conference. A video gathering component gathers video streams for each of at least some of the current participants in the online conference. A broadcast start triggering component allows one or more of the participants to trigger operation of a broadcasting component. The broadcast component that, when triggered, causes a resulting video stream comprising at least a composite of at least some of the gathered video streams to be published to a plurality of viewers. In some embodiments, pre-processing of the video streams to create the resulting video stream also occurs. Such pre-processing could include, for instance, composing a stream from multiple video streams, altering one or more of the video streams, applying augmented reality to the video stream, and so forth.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for sharing object information which executes a video-chat session between an agent and a mobile client using an application hosted by a server. There is presented a view in common executed by a server application to both the agent and the mobile client for viewing objects captured by the mobile client during the video-chat session. There is identified by the agent a viewed object captured by the mobile client where the captured objected has been viewed by the agent in the common view during the video-chat session. The captured objected may be selected by the agent during the video-chat session and the agent may retrieve information remotely about the selected object to send to the mobile client.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments relate to uses of face detection for modifying the background of a video. By detecting the portion of the video shot that corresponds to a face, it can also determined which portion of the shot do not correspond to the face (e.g., the background of the video). The thus-detected background may be replaced with a movie, event, or other material. Different types of materials may be targeted at different users based on user affinities or preferences. In some embodiments, a user may manually select and apply a background during a video call. When applying a custom background, the system can transmit a control signal and the background. The client recognizes the control signal and, in response, applies the background.

Abstract: A videoconferencing endpoint can provides a caller with the ability to make unscheduled video calls to a callee without having knowledge of dialing information of a videoconferencing endpoint where the callee is currently located. The videoconferencing endpoint searches a location database using an identity of the callee provided by the caller, where the location database can store dialing information of a videoconferencing endpoint where the callee is known to be located. The videoconferencing endpoint can collect biometric data from a user and determine the identity of the user by matching the collected biometric data to biometric data stored in a biometric database. If a match is found, the videoconferencing endpoint updates the location database such that the location database indicates the videoconferencing endpoint as the current location of the user.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure involve systems, methods, computer program products, and the like, for routing one or more requests to join or initiate a collaboration conference based on at least an identifier of a requesting device. In one embodiment, a telecommunications network obtains an identifier, such as the telephone number, of a device requesting to join or initiate a collaboration conference. The identifying information is then compared to a database of user accounts maintained by the network. The network may then prompt the user of the requesting device to join a particular conferencing bridge or provide particular conferencing features based on the one or more preferences associated with the user's account. A response to the prompt may be received and then acted upon by the network to connect the requesting device to a collaboration conference and/or provide the one or more conferencing features to the requesting device.

Abstract: A system for virtual auditing of a auditee by an auditing servicer having an organizer computer system that communicates through an electronic communications network with a microprocessor device at a remote auditee facility connected to a display and an imaging and sound device, whereby the organizer computer system remote from the auditee facility directs the imaging by the microprocessor device thereat for electronic face-to-face interaction of video, sound and exchange of electronic documents by the auditing servicer with personnel at the auditee facility. A method for virtual auditing of an auditee by an auditing servicer is disclosed.
