The tab has a recess. The second tab has a second recess. In an encapturing configuration, the recesses form an aperture to encapture an arrow shaft when portions of the tabs are substantially in plane. In a discharge configuration the aperture releases the arrow shaft when the portions are substantially parallel. The drive mechanism rotates the first and second arms from the encapturing configuration to the discharge configuration.

This first limb is free-floating against the first riser portion. A second limb and a bowstring are connected to the bow as well. Tension in the bowstring is transferred to the first and second limbs. Limbs such as the first limb store energy across more of the length of the limb, have less concentrated stresses, and can be supported and dampened close to the proximal end of the limb.

Each vertical post creates a pivot point at its bottom end, such that each vertical post is urged apart from the other post to create tension or leverage between the opposite top side bar supports or T-units or L-units, thus creating a net opening with a more realistic goal shape and reducing sag at the top edge.
