  • Patent number: 9588545
Abstract: Methods and devices for selectively presenting a user interface for a phone application are provided. More particularly, a change in the display mode of a multiple screen device can be determined. More particularly, a presentation of a user interface for an in-process call of a phone application can be retained after receiving a flick in an off-screen gesture area of the device. However, the user interface moves from a first screen to a second screen (or vice versa) in response to receiving the flick. The user interface provides detail information about a phone call that is currently in-process.

  • Patent number: 9582184
Abstract: A method of operating a data processing system having a touch enabled display screen to alter the value of a specified variable in the data processing system is disclosed. A value control is provided on the display screen to alter the variable. The value control has an increment tap region, a decrement tap region, and a drag region. The data processing system recognizes gestures in these regions and changes the variable in response to the gestures by an amount that is determined by the gesture. The drag gesture is characterized by a drag direction and a drag length, the drag direction depending on whether the drag gesture is performed toward the increment or decrement tap regions. The value control is advantageous for small display screens.

  • Patent number: 9582292
Abstract: Merging user interface (UI) object trees comprising UI trees from different technologies (e.g., host and one or more guest technologies) can involve registering guest technologies with a technology adapter layer, for example, used to manage UI tree merging. Further, identifying whether a UI object can be switched from a first technology to a second technology can comprise using a host technology provider to identify if a UI object can be switched, when navigating down the UI tree. When navigating up the UI tree, information stored by the technology adapter layer can be used to identify if a UI object can be switched. Additionally, identifying the second technology can comprise having the technology adapter layer request technology switching capability information from registered technologies for the UI object when navigating down the UI tree. When navigating up the UI tree, information stored by the technology adapter layer can be used to identify the second technology.

  • Patent number: 9545335
Abstract: A graphical user interface for use in phacoemulsification surgical systems that allows a user to select different pulse modes by touching portions of the display screen. The user interface includes first and second display elements. One display element includes a representation of the on-time of the pulses, and the other display element includes a representation of the off-time. The representations show how the on-time and off-time change relative to a position of a controller, such as a foot pedal. The representation show a constant time, or that a time increases or decreases as the foot pedal is pressed. To select a pulse mode, a user can scroll through different pulse representations by touching the screen at the display elements. The selected pulse mode can be continuous, pulse, burst, or a combination or derivation thereof.

  • Patent number: 9547431
Abstract: System and computer program product to consume data on a mobile device. Data records are outputted according to a columnar or row orientation in a first panel of an application. Four other panels, each initially hidden from view, are defined to receive data from the user via a predefined touchscreen gesture. If an orientation of the gesture matches the orientation of the data records, the set of data records is either archived or deleted to a respective panel, of the four other panels, according to a direction of the gesture and a predefined action associated with that direction. If the orientation of the gesture is transverse to the orientation of the data records, individual data records are archived or deleted to a respective panel, of the four other panels, according to a direction of the gesture and a predefined action associated with that direction.

  • Patent number: 9547409
Abstract: A service level management document is modeled by a multi-path, navigable graph. The graph is comprised of nodes connected by lines where each node represents part of a modeled service level management document and each line represents the relationship between connected nodes. Each node has a predetermined shape that corresponds to the role of each node in the graph, such as by designating whether the node is a root node, branch node, leaf node, or branch graph node. Moreover, the shape can distinguish whether the node is optional or required. The background color of each node is indicative of the state of the information within a configuration page linked to a corresponding node. The configuration pages of a graph collectively describe the content of the modeled service level management document.

  • Patent number: 9501293
Abstract: Various embodiments of systems and methods for automatic context passing during management application navigation are described herein. When management applications work with different managed entities, the managed context is preserved by following the relations between the managed entities. These relations are followed from a mediator framework during the navigation between the management applications. In this manner, a managed application passes context information for one entity type, and second managed application retrieves from the framework context information for different entity type, but the user context information will be preserved as the framework follows the relations between the passed entity and the requested entity types.
