The system includes a vacuum pump, a number of pipes, and the sap lifter. The sap lifter includes a body; an inlet for conveying sap towards the sap lifter; a first outlet for conveying the sap away from the sap lifter; and a pump operatively coupled to the pipes and adapted to pump the sap away from the body once a maximum level of sap is reached, and wherein the maximum level of sap is set to leave an air space in the body and in the pipes for maintaining the level of constant vacuum. The sap lifter and the pipes alternatively define a closed-circuit with no fluid communication with ambient air for maintaining the level of constant vacuum.
Abstract: A laying nest is provided with an improved ejection system, in which the risk of expelling eggs together with the hens is suppressed. The floor of the laying nest can rotate in both directions. Thanks to this arrangement, at first it can be rotated in a first direction for inclining it towards the egg collection area and ensuring that all the laid eggs are removed; next, it can be rotated in a second, opposite direction for inclining it towards the hen coop and thus expelling the hens from the laying nest. In a preferred embodiment, the driving arrangement of the ejection system of the laying nest is entirely arranged below the floor of the laying nest, so as to not occupy room in the laying nest and to be protected from manures and dirt that may be present in the laying nest.
Abstract: A flower protector includes a tubular translucent shield having a ventilated topside face and a plurality of supporting base arms. A locking mechanism secures the shield in place. The shield is capable of being manipulated between a fully extended state and a fully collapsed state to effectively cover the foliage.
Abstract: An apparatus and method deliver fluid treatments to a targeted plant. The apparatus comprises a two-piece protective shell joined on one side by a spring-hinge. When the two piece outer protective shell is open, a fluid treatment is applied to a liquid retaining material within the protective shell. A portion of a targeted plant is placed within the open outer protective shell. The two piece outer protective shell is then closed, creating a sealed containment environment that is immediately protected from environmental disturbance, prevents distribution of fluid treatment to non-treated plant materials, and will retain, store, and prevent leakage of the fluid treatment. The closed outer protective shell also clasps the plant portion, forcing contact of the target plant portion with fluid treatment residing on and within the liquid retaining material. The apparatus remains attached to the targeted plant while the fluid treatment is absorbed through systemic plant processes.
Abstract: A grow plant enclosure to maximize plant density for a given growing area has a perimeter frame, a first pane, and a second pane. The first pane and the second pane are removably attached to the perimeter frame about opposite sides to form a hollow enclosure. A plurality of plug holder openings traverses through the first pane and the second pane, wherein each of the plug holder openings is designed to receive one of a plurality of plant holders for growing various plant types. A plurality of supply tubes traverse into the perimeter frame through a plurality of supply tube openings and each has a plurality of spray nozzles to deliver nutrient solution to the root zone of the plants retained in the plurality of plant holders. Excess nutrient solution is released through a drain tray and a drain fixture positioned about the bottom of the perimeter frame.
Abstract: Plants are optimally grown under artificial narrowband Photosynthetically Active Radiation (“PAR”) of multiple colors, and color palettes, applied in but partially time-overlapping cycles. As well as a long, growing season, cycle, the colored lights are cyclically applied on a short, diurnal, cycle that often roughly simulates a peak-season sunny day at the earth latitude native to the plant. Bluer lights are applied commencing before redder lights, and are likewise terminated before the redder lights. Infrared light in particular, is preferably first applied at a time corresponding to early afternoon, and is temporally extended past a time corresponding to sunset. The colored lights and light palettes preferably rise to, and fall from, different peak intensities over periods from 10 minutes to 2 hours, and relative peak intensities of even such different colors as are used at all vary up to times two (×2) in response to differing PAR requirements of different plants.
Abstract: An aquafarming system is provided that includes a cultivating barrel with a multi-floor net assembly for the cultivation of shellfish creatures or the like.
