  • Patent number: 6481154
Abstract: Terminal buds or axillary buds of trees of genus Swietenia is cultured on a B5 medium containing 3-indole butyric acid (IBA) and benzylaminopurine (BAP) or its modified medium to induce multiple shoots; the multiple shoots are transplanted to a similar medium containing IBA and BAP to the above and cultured by liquid gyratory culture to efficiently propagate the multiple shoots; then the propagated multiple shoots are transplanted to a similar medium containing IBA and BAP to the above and subjected to liquid stationary culture to efficiently elongate a large number of the shoots; and the elongated shoots are transplanted to a similar medium containing IBA to the above to promote shoot elongation and rooting, thereby producing a large number of young plantlets of trees of genus Swietenia.

  • Patent number: 6474265
Abstract: An adjustable aquarium divider for dividing an aquarium into separate sections while allowing water flow between the sections. The adjustable aquarium divider includes a first panel and a second panel. Each of the panels is rigid and has a first side and second side. Each of the panels has a generally rectangular shape. The panels each have a plurality of apertures therein extending through first and second sides. A fastening member removably fastens the first panel to the second panel such that the first and second panels are partially overlapping and a wall is defined. The first and second panels have aligned upper and lower edges. The wall has a pair of lateral side edges. The panels are positioned in an aquarium such that each of the lateral side edges is abutting one of a pair of opposite walls in the aquarium.

  • Patent number: 6443100
Abstract: A debris separating system for separating debris in a fish tank is formed by a standpipe extending up through the bottom of tank at the center of tank and terminating in an open end. A cover covers the opening and is spaced therefrom to provide an inlet opening positioned above the bottom of the tank. A transition zone is formed at the bottom of the tank surrounding the standpipe and a debris outlet is provided from this zone through the bottom of the tank for removal of debris separated in the transition zone. Cleaned water from the transition zone flows up around the standpipe, through the inlet opening and into the standpipe for removal from the tank.
