  • Patent number: 11357482
Abstract: A urine collector (1) and a method for mounting the urine collector to a toilet bowl. The collector is made of paper sheet and comprises a central collection area (20), a front flap (4), a rear part (23), two side wings (3 A, 3B) each extending from the central collection area (20) and further two rear wings (2 A, 2B) extending from the rear part (23). Each of the wings (2 A, 2B, 3 A, 3B) and the front flap (4) are provided with sticky material (6) for fastening them to the toilet bowl (5). The urine collector (1) is mounted onto a toilet bowl (5) by fastening the front flap (4) to the front part of the bowl opening (5C), and fastening the wings (2A, 2B, 3A, 3B) to the edge of the toilet bowl opening (5). After urine collection in the collection area (20), the front flap is detached from the front of the toilet bowl and lifted, while the side wings and rear wings are still attached. This causes the collected urine to flow over the rear part into a separate sampling container.

  • Patent number: 11305052
Abstract: A suction-based medical dressing assembly and method of dermal irrigation provides a flexible tube that is fluidly coupled to at least two bifurcated tube portions defined by a plurality of apertures. The tube has a proximal end opening for discharging ambient fluid. The length of the bifurcated tube portions is surrounded by an absorbent gauze material covered substantially with an occlusive sheet material, and having an adhesive strip thereon. A vacuum assembly creates a negative pressure in the tubes. The ambient fluid is absorbed by the absorbent material, and the negative pressure sucks the fluid through the apertures in the bifurcated tube portions for discharge through the opening in the tube. In operation, a patient applies the adhesive side of the occlusive device to the skin where liquid removal is desired and activates the vacuum-inducing source, thereby causing fluid runoff from the patient to be effectively removed for disposal.

  • Patent number: 11298453
Abstract: An apparatus and method for cleansing and applying therapy or prophylaxis to wounds, in which irrigant fluid, which may contain a physiologically active material, and wound exudate from the dressing are moved by a device for moving fluid through a flow path which passes through the dressing. A means for fluid cleansing may also be provided to recirculate fluid back to the dressing. The cleansing means removes materials deleterious to wound healing, and the cleansed fluid, still containing materials that are beneficial in promoting wound healing, is returned to the wound bed. The apparatus may also provide means for distributing such materials in a precise and time-controlled manner over the wound bed. It may also contain a means for providing simultaneous aspiration and irrigation of the wound.

  • Patent number: 11285292
Abstract: A sterile closed intermittent urinary catheter system which is an easier to use by virtue of ergonomic shaping to facilitate advancement and retrieval of the catheter from the collection bag. The bag may have a closed internal hole adjacent an indent in one edge that creates a narrow channel through which the catheter passes. The narrow channel is located near to and in alignment with an outlet assembly so that the catheter extends from the narrow channel directly to the outlet. A user may easily grasp the catheter from outside the bag at the narrow channel and urge the catheter forward or backward to alternately extend and retract it through the outlet. A flexible pusher sleeve with gripper features may be added around the narrow channel to further facilitate catheter advancement.

  • Patent number: 11253640
Abstract: In one example embodiment, a vibration apparatus can augment and enhance negative-pressure therapy systems. The apparatus can be attached to an external surface of a dressing, fluid conductor, or other components. The apparatus can generate low-amplitude vibrations, which can be transmitted through the components. Kinetic energy of the oscillations can agitate fluid in the components, which can lower the viscosity of the fluid and reduce the frequency of blockages in fluid conductors. Vibrations may also agitate a tissue site, which can encourage blood flow and granulation.
