  • Patent number: 11533121
Abstract: A method for communicating a data packet, the method includes receiving a data packet that supports a packet wash operation. The method determines whether the data packet can be forwarded along a network path towards a destination node without any modification. If the data packet cannot be forwarded along the network path towards the destination node without modification, the method determines whether conditions are met for performing the packet wash operation on the data packet. If the conditions are met, the packet wash operation is performed to generate a washed data packet. The packet wash operation generates the washed data packet by modifying a size of a payload of the data packet based on a packet wash specification that associates attributes to a plurality of data payload portions of the payload of the data packet. The washed data packet is forwarded along the network path towards the destination node.

  • Patent number: 11533137
Abstract: A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may send a grant free transmission comprising a first and a second part, each of which may be associated with a priority. The first part's priority may be higher than the second part's priority. The WTRU may select a first back of value from a first range of back off values. The WTRU may determine whether the grant free transmission was successful. If the grant free transmission was not successful, the WTRU may send a retransmission of the grant free transmission, which may include the first part and may not include the second part. The retransmission may select a second back off value from a second range of back off values, which may be a larger than the first range of back off values. The second back off value may indicate the number of grant free resource to skip prior to sending the retransmission.

Abstract: A network switch is disclosed. The network switch includes an input port and an output port. The network switch further includes a rule logic and a memory for storing a configurable counter. The rule logic is configured to inspect a packet received via the input port and attempt to find a rule for the packet and if the rule is found, to reset the counter and process the packet according to a preconfigured follow up action associated with the rule and if the rule is not found, to route the packet according to a default rule. The rule logic is configured to identify the packet for a follow up action based at least on a subset of content of the packet including a header and a payload of the packet. The counter may hold a time value or the number of packets from a same source to a same destination, a number of bytes received from the same source to a same destination, or a user configurable parameter to control the rule validity period.

  • Patent number: 11522634
Abstract: Modulation schemes for 5G and 6G are disclosed that can be demodulated accurately even when two transmissions collide. The modulation states are configured to reveal the interference and, in most cases, provide an unambiguous determination of the original content. In other cases, when inevitable ambiguities remain, the number of possible states is greatly reduced, enabling rapid selection of the correct state using error-detection codes. The states of the modulation scheme may include phase modulation or amplitude modulation or both, and may be based on classical amplitude-phase modulation or pulse-amplitude modulation. Each state is structured so that any collision, between any two of the states, produces a readily identified amplitude-phase combination, from which the original message and the intruding message can be deduced. Enhanced network throughput and reliability, with fewer retransmission and dropped messages, may result. Many other aspects are disclosed.

The method also includes receiving a second RRC message from the network node, wherein the second RRC message configures a SLRB and maps the PC5 QoS flow to the SLRB. The method further includes transmitting a third RRC message to the network node if the PC5 QoS flow is deactivated or released, wherein the PFI of the PC5 QoS flow is removed from a second list of PC5 QoS flows included in the third RRC message.

  • Patent number: 11483203
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for enhancing packet scheduler fairness in a small-cell wireless communication network. In one embodiment, the methods and apparatus utilize “quasi-licensed” CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) wireless spectrum in conjunction with 3GPP wireless communication network (e.g. 4G LTE or 5GNR) for the delivery of services to a number of enhanced CPE (consumer premises equipment), such as fixed wireless apparatus (FWAe). The various FWAe report Channel Quality Indicator (CQI) data to their respective serving base stations over time, and each base station both builds a statistical characterization of each FWAe, and maps the CQI data to a prescribed configuration (e.g., to the Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS)) adaptively for the transmission of the data to the FWAe, and development of a scheduler priority for each FWAe. In one implementation, once the CQI values are stable for a given FWAe, CQI reporting is terminated for a period of time.

  • Patent number: 11467933
Abstract: Systems for distributed data storage. A method commences upon accessing a set of data items that describe computing nodes to be organized into a ring topology. The ring topology and distributed data storage policies are characterized by quantitative failure-resilient characteristics such as a replication factor. Various characteristics of the topology serve to bound two or more availability domains of the ring into which the computing nodes can be mapped. A set of quantitative values pertaining to respective quantitative failure-resilient characteristics are used for enumerating candidate ring topologies where the computing nodes are mapped into the availability domains. Using the quantitative failure-resilient characteristics, alternative candidate ring topologies are evaluated so as to determine a configuration score for candidate ring topologies. A candidate ring topology is configured based on a computed configuration score surpassing a threshold score.

  • Patent number: 11452128
Abstract: Methods for handling uplink transmissions between a user equipment (UE) and a base station in a 5G NR system are described. In implementations, a UE (110) receives, from the base station (120), a first radio resource control message (505) that includes a network-set SkipUplinkTxDynamic field indicating a first configuration for a skip uplink transmission function. The UE determines, regardless of the network-set SkipUplinkTxDynamic field, a user-equipment-set SkipUplinkTxDynamic field (510) that indicates a second configuration for the skip uplink transmission function. The UE transmits, to the base station, a radio resource complete message (515) that includes an indicator of the user-equipment-set SkipUplinkTxDynamic field to override the network-set SkipUplinkTxDynamic field. Afterwards, in various implementations, the UE processes uplink transmissions using the second configuration for the skip uplink transmission function.
