Abstract: The present invention provides a glove having both high softness and high air tightness. A glove of the present invention has a fiber-made base having a shape of a hand of a person and a coating formed on a surface of at least a portion of the base, where a burning treatment is applied to the base, air tightness of a portion of the glove which has been applied with the burning treatment is maintained even when pressure of 9 kPa or higher is imparted to inside of the base, and the fiber-made base is formed of filament yarns.
Abstract: Ballistic collar may include a bellows shaped member, which is arranged to surround a human's neck, including bellows plies being mainly perpendicular to the axis of the collar or of the human's neck. Free standing, the structure stands up around the neck to provide ballistic protection. The structure may be formed by folding a sheet of ballistic rated body armor fabric including strong synthetic fibers, e.g. from aromatic polyamide fibers, or ultra high molecular weight polyolefin, e.g. polyethylene polypropylene, fibers. For manufacturing the ballistic collar, a plurality of sheets may be piled-up and the whole may be submitted to transformation in a mold at a temperature and pressure at which the sheets remain mainly loose from each other. Preferably parts of the collars or bellows shaped members are made, which are assembled afterwards e.g. by stitching, welding etc.

Abstract: This invention provides a helmet shield attaching mechanism capable of relatively easily and relatively accurately performing an adjustment operation for satisfactorily bringing the inner surface of a shield in a substantially fully-closed state into close contact with the window opening rim portion of a head protecting body. The holding position of stopped means of a movable base member, whose position is held by stopper means of a stationary base member in an at least substantially fully-closed state of the shield, can be selected from one of a plurality of portions of the movable base member substantially in the back-and-forth direction.
Abstract: A self-disinfecting personal protective garment comprises a plurality of pockets covered by a porous external layer. Each pocket contains (or can be filled with) a disinfecting solution. Applying compression to the flexible chamber of the pocket (such as by inflation of adjacent inflatable chambers) causes pressurization of the disinfecting solution and forces the solution to flow from the pockets across and through the porous external layer and ultimately to spread over the external surface of the protective garment—so as to eradicate the pathogens on the surface and disinfect the protective garment. Also described is a conversion kit configured to add a self-disinfecting feature to a conventional protective garment. The protective garment of the invention may be used by healthcare workers treating Ebola patients or patients with other highly contagious infections—to extend the time of garment usage, simplify garment removal procedure and increase their personal safety.
