  • Patent number: 7814033
Abstract: The invention is related to a control method to make IC's operation mode to be provided with uncertainty, wherein a Genetic Random Number is produced with the first use of IC, and a Run-Time Random Number is produced with every use of IC, both numbers are produced from the Random Number pool in IC, and then produce a long serial number through hash function, which include a plurality of control bits to serve as the function control of data shuffle for IC data access, path and direction for data flow, etc. The said long serial number varies with the random number during each time of execution, thus the control method of the long serial number is various and the IC's operation mode is provided with uncertainty. As IC is applied to e-commerce, data security or encryption/decryption process, due to the uncertainty of IC's behavior, a hacker cannot catch the fixed IC's operation mode to break through it just through analysis to a single IC, therefore the data security can be protected.

  • Patent number: 7805396
Abstract: Normal and abnormal diurnal cortisol secretion patterns are identified from human saliva samples by an in vitro method. First and second saliva samples are taken from one human individual at first and second predetermined times during the same day. A first cortisol concentration is determined in the first saliva sample, and a second cortisol concentration is determined in the second saliva sample. An abnormal secretion pattern is then compared to a normal secretion pattern with the help of a fuzzy logic algorithm. A function of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis is then determined for the human individual. Optionally, a testosterone level is determined from one of the samples and is used in combination with the cortisol concentrations to provide a redefined determination.

  • Patent number: 7426500
Abstract: This processing is distributed among number of simple hexagonal units distributed in a honeycomb layer, consisting of a central hexagram surrounded by six receiving cells, each representing an invariable binary place fed into central hexagram's CPU controlled by a simple program. The activated receiving cells indicate the presence of a stimulus. The interconnected layers overlap so that the higher-level receiving cells get input from the lower-level central hexagrams and higher-level output modifies lower-level programs as well as sends input to other levels or Memory Units. Integration of layer output is achieved in 3D Memory Unit Complex consisting of truncated octagons, where each hexagonal side represents a binary number linked to 6 others through one binary place that makes adjacent numbers different. The input into each Memory Unit comes from the output of a Patch of central hexagrams a clocked input, other-layer output or a Memory Unit feedback.

  • Patent number: 7392231
Abstract: A user's preference structure in respect of alternative “objects” with which the user is presented is captured in a multi-attribute utility function. The user ranks these competing objects in order of the user's relative preference for such objects. A utility function that defines the user's preference structure is provided as output on the basis of this relative ranking. This technique can be used to assist a buyer in selecting between multi-attribute quotes or bids submitted by prospective suppliers to the buyer.

  • Patent number: 7369902
Abstract: A network system is constructed by connecting a safety PLC constituting a master unit and safety slaves 2 to each other through a safety network 3. The safety slaves each have a device information storage unit 25 for storing individual information and status information of the safety devices connected. The individual information is acquired and stored in advance, while the stored contents of the status information are updated based on the result of monitoring the status of the safety devices in operation. These processes are executed by a MPU 23. In response to a request from the safety PLC, the device information stored are transmitted, so that the safety PLC can collect and manage the device state as well as the normal state of the slave units.

  • Patent number: 7349863
Abstract: A dynamic planning method (DPM) generates a DPM project planning model. The DPM project planning model provides an activity pre-structured process model for activities of a DPM project plan. The DPM project planning model also provides a relationship pre-structured model for activity time precedence relationships of the DPM project plan. The DPM project planning model is dynamically adjusted to generate a DPM project plan, whereby reliability buffers are associated with one or more activities of the plan. Time precedence relationships are associated with the reliability buffers and with the activities. A variety of DPM simulation outputs are also generated. The DPM simulation outputs provide a comparison of the DPM project plan with conventional project plans generated by conventional project planning models.

  • Patent number: 7340443
Abstract: A method and computer product is disclosed for arbitrating the outputs of a plurality of recognizers to select a hypothesis associated with a given input from a plurality of hypotheses. Fuzzy membership states are assigned to respective candidate outputs of the plurality of recognizers. At least one rule is selected according to the assigned fuzzy membership states. A selected rule provides a determined amount of support mass for an associated one of the plurality of hypotheses and a determined amount of uncertainty mass. A support value for each hypothesis and an overall uncertainty are determined from the provided mass values. A hypothesis having a highest support value while having an acceptable low level of uncertainty is selected.

  • Patent number: 7340441
Abstract: In performing a pattern search algorithm to find an optimal solution for an optimization, using a set of positive basis vectors that is non-maximal like a set of minimal positive basis vectors as search directions can sometimes causes the algorithm to converge at a non-optimal solution, like a horse saddle. The present invention provides a method to overcome this deficiency by rotating the vectors and hence increase the number of search directions.

  • Patent number: 7340060
Abstract: The present invention is a computer system that analyses the factual and behavioural data of a group of subjects, extracts the common behavioural patterns from the collection, and is capable of forecasting the behaviour of a new subject when his or her factual data are inputted to the system. It does so by first taking a collection of both the factual data and behavioural data from a group of subjects. A clustering engine is employed to compute a set of exemplars that concisely represent the population. Afterwards, the factual data of a subject, and the corresponding behavioural exemplar that he or she belongs, are fed to a learning module so that it can learn the mapping between the subject's factual data and behavioural exemplar. After learning, the system is able to predict the behaviour patterns when factual data of a new subject is presented.

  • Patent number: 7337019
Abstract: Semiconductor wafers are processed in conjunction with a manufacturing execution system using a run-to-run controller and a fault detection system. A recipe is received from the manufacturing execution system by the run-to-run controller for controlling a tool. The recipe includes a setpoint for obtaining one or more target wafer properties. Processing of the wafers is monitored by measuring processing attributes including fault conditions and wafer properties using the fault detection system and one or more sensors. Setpoints of the recipe may be modified at the run-to-run controller according to the processing attributes to maintain the target wafer properties, except in cases when a fault condition is detected by the fault detection system. Thus, data acquired in the presence of tool or wafer fault conditions are not used for feedback purposes. In addition, fault detection models may be used to define a range of conditions indicative of a fault condition.

  • Patent number: 7333961
Abstract: An artificial vision system traning method starts by forming (S2) a feature matrix including feature sample vectors and a corresponding response sample vector including response sample scalars. The method then uses an iterative procedure to determine a linkage vector linking the response sample vector to the feature matrix. This iterative procedure includes the steps: determining (S4) a response sample vector error estimate in the response sample vector domain; transforming (S6) the response sample vector error estimate into a corresponding linkage vector error estimate in the linkage vector domain; determining (S7) a linkage vector estimate in the linkage vector domain by using the linkage vector error estimate; transforming (S8) the linkage vector estimate into a corresponding response sample vector estimate in the response sample vector domain. These steps are repeated until (S5) the response sample vector error estimate is sufficiently small.

  • Patent number: 7333966
Abstract: Hyperlinking or associating documents to other documents based on the names of people in the documents has become more desirable. Although there is an automated system for installing such hyperlinks into judicial opinions, the system is not generally applicable to other types of names and documents, nor well suited to determine hyperlinks for names that might refer to two or more similarly named persons. Accordingly, the inventor devised systems, methods, and software that facilitate hyperlinking names in documents, regardless of type. One exemplary system includes a descriptor module and a linking module. The descriptor module develops descriptive patterns for selecting co-occurent document information that is useful in recognizing associations between names and professional classes.
