  • Patent number: 10680771
Abstract: Techniques are provided for combining different types of reference signals. A wireless communications network may be configured to allow a user equipment (UE) to combine multiple demodulation reference signals (DM-RSs) to support demodulation of a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH), and/or other downlink transmissions, transmitted from a base station to the UE. The base station may provide explicit signaling that reference signals transmitted in two or more transmission time intervals may be combined, or a determination that reference signals transmitted in two or more transmission time intervals may be combined may be made implicitly based on system configuration and previous transmissions. Based on the explicit signaling and/or implicit determination, a UE may combine reference signals included in each of two or more reference signals for use in demodulation of downlink transmissions.

  • Patent number: 10630577
Abstract: A differentiated routing system includes a computer-executable system to receive a request from a first network gateway of a native network for establishing a communication service from a calling party terminal to a called party terminal. Upon receipt of the request, the system determines that policy information is not known for the calling party terminal that has originated the request, and therefore append a tag to the request in which the tag indicates that the requested communication service is to be established using one or more generic policies. The generic policies include one or more default policies to be used for establishing the communication service. The system then transmits the request to a routing device, wherein the routing device determines how the communication service is routed through the native network according to the one or more generic policies.

  • Patent number: 10567300
Abstract: A network device, including ports that receive/send data packets from/to a network, receives data packets of multiple traffic flows, and populates a queue in memory with the data packets. The network device periodically updates a fair rate for the multiple traffic flows to converge a length of the queue to a reference length. Specifically, the network device determines a length of the queue, a change in the length from a previous length, and a deviation of the length from the reference length. The network device detects an increase in the change in length above a threshold that is based on the reference length. If the increase is not above the threshold, the network device derives the fair rate from a previous fair rate using proportional integral control. The network device identifies elephant flows among the multiple traffic flows, and sends the fair rate to a source of each elephant flow.

  • Patent number: 10499316
Abstract: A method for controlling access to a wireless Access Network (AN) by a wireless communication device. The device stores a Device Access Priority (DAP) level based on characteristics of the device. When the device has data to send, the device receives an overhead message from the AN containing a Network Access Priority (NAP) parameter defining a minimum priority level for initiating network access. The device determines whether its DAP level is equal to or greater than the NAP parameter. If not, the device periodically repeats the receiving and determining steps until the stored DAP level is determined to be equal to or greater than the NAP parameter received from the AN. When the stored DAP level is equal to or greater than the NAP parameter, the device initiates network access. The device may perform and pass a Persistence Test before transmitting the data on an access channel (ACH).
