Abstract: An integrated process for increasing C.sub.6 to C.sub.8 aromatics content in reformate prepared from C.sub.9.sup.+ aromatics-containing feed comprises:1) pretreating a raw naphtha feedstream containing C.sub.9.sup.+ aromatics and sulfur by contacting with a) a hydrodesulfurization catalyst under hydrodesulfurization conditions to produce a hydrodesulfurized feedstream and thereafter b) cascading said hydrodesulfurized feedstream over a noble metal- and/or Group VIA metal-containing porous crystalline inorganic oxide catalyst comprising pores having openings of 12-member rings under conditions sufficient to effect conversion of C.sub.9.sup.+ aromatics, thereby providing a pretreated effluent stream of enhanced C.sub.8.sup.- aromatics content relative to that obtained in the absence of said cascading; and2) reforming at least a portion of said pretreated effluent stream to provide a reformate stream.
Abstract: Finely divided, wet-ground, dispersant-free calcium carbonate filler or pigment compositions are disclosed in which the particles of calcium carbonate are distributed in particular amounts in a particular fashion--broadly stated: in fine particle size distribution. Such compositions are useful in aqueous slurry or dry form as opacifying fillers for paper.

Abstract: Disclosed is a process for reducing the fouling in a heat exchanger in which a hydrocarbon stream is heated or cooled as it passes through the heat exchanger. From 1 to 500 parts per million of an alkylamino alkylphenol is added to the stream to reduce fouling.
Abstract: A process for treating used motor oil or synthetic crude oil comprising: (i) contacting said used motor oil or synthetic crude oil with an effective amount of (A) a polyfunctional mineral acid and/or the anhydride of said acid and (B) a polyhydroxy compound to react undesired contaminants contained in said used motor oil or synthetic crude oil with components (A) and/or (B) to form one or more reaction products; and (ii) separating said reaction products from said used motor oil or synthetic crude oil. A process for reclaiming used motor oil is also disclosed.
