  • Patent number: 9809289
Abstract: A hull mounted, steerable marine drive system having trim actuation is both steerable through 360 degrees and is trimmable. The marine drive system includes a watertight enclosure assembly for sealing the hull, which is adapted for keeping much of the marine drive system from being exposed to water. The enclosure includes a gasket flange plate, a retention plate and a folded gasket. The gasket flange plate closely follows the contour of the hull and enhances the hydrodynamic and wake performance of the present marine drive system. Further, marine drive system includes a forward-neutral-reverse (FNR) transmission assembly, a drive unit assembly having a trimmable upper unit and a steerable lower unit, a steering actuator assembly, a trim actuator assembly, and, preferably, trim foils for providing enhanced negative and positive trim and for providing enhanced positive and negative lift.

  • Patent number: 9802677
Abstract: A floating module includes an upper half and a lower half. The upper half includes one edge from which a flange extends downwardly, while the lower half includes an opposite edge that includes an upwardly facing flange. Modules can be interconnected to one another by engaging the upper flange from one with the lower flange from another. A cavity and channels are formed in the lower surface of the module such that water will become entrapped in the cavity and channels when the platform is placed in water. Through use of one way check valves positioned in fluid communication with the cavity and channels, a hydro-lock is formed that prevents the water from escaping the cavity and channels while it is placed in water.

  • Patent number: 9796454
Abstract: A cylindrical receiver has an upper region with female screw threads, a lower region, and a centrally located washer. A cylindrical sleeve has an upper end with male screw threads threadedly coupled to the female screw threads of the receiver. A cylindrical passageway is formed between the receiver and the sleeve. A cylindrical stake is slidably received in the sleeve. A tether line couples the stake to a movable patch whereby when the movable patch is coupled to a fixed patch, the stake will be in a raised orientation and whereby when a user separates the movable patch from the fixed patch, the weight of the stake will lower the stake into a lower orientation into a sandy or rocky bottom.

  • Patent number: 9796453
Abstract: A method and structure for mooring seaworthy craft against boat landings is disclosed. The structure comprises a fender (4) with a layer of compressible material having an exposed surface, mounted on the craft. Anchor points (12) are secured at laterally spaced locations on the craft, as are two draw mechanisms (14), one associated with each anchor point (12). A tie (10) is provided for extending from each anchor point (12) to its associated draw mechanism (14), and each mechanism is operable to draw its respective tie from an anchor point around a pylon thereby urging the fender (4) against both pylons. In the mooring process, the craft is first steered to the boat landing to engage the fender (4) against the pylons (6), and the ties (10) are withdrawn from each draw mechanism (14) and taken around one of the pylons. Each tie is then attached to an anchor point (12) on the craft, and the mechanisms (14) are activated to draw the ties (10) around the pylons to urge the fender (4) against them.
