  • Patent number: 11983337
Abstract: A mouse accepts button press inputs at a button on the mouse upper surface to detect an input with a switch coupled to a first support. When pressure is applied by an end user to the button after the button activates the switch, the first support rotates towards a second support and a pressure sensor detects the amount of pressure applied at the button as an input with a value that varies in a range. The pressure sensor comprises a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film with integrated silver electrodes that form upper and lower layers of capacitor electrodes to detect strain of a spring that biases the first support away from the second support.

  • Patent number: 11983333
Abstract: An optical sensor system that uses focused (not collimated) light optics and produces effective tracking on a variety of surfaces while having looser manufacturing and/or operational tolerances than prior focused optics systems. Embodiments provide an optical sensor system for a mouse moveable on a surface. An LED and a light sensor are coupled to a substrate. An illumination lens directs light at a first angle to the surface, with the light focused on a focal point below the surface. An imaging lens focuses light reflected at an angle generally equal to the first angle on the light sensor. The focal point is sufficiently below the surface so that that the diameter of a produced spot of light on the surface is more than 40% larger than a field of view (FOV) of the light sensor, and less than 400% larger than the FOV of the light sensor.

  • Patent number: 11907442
Abstract: An information handling system mouse includes a motion power switch that applies power to the mouse when the mouse is moved in a powered down state to restart the mouse processing resource and position sensor. When a mouse is inactive for predetermined conditions, such as an idle time, the processing resource enables the motion power switch and cuts off power to the mouse. The motion power switch consumes no power until motion of the mouse closes a circuit that reactivates the processing resource to manage the mouse power state. The result is a mouse idle state with no power use and a rapid wake to an operational state.

  • Patent number: 11893174
Abstract: An information handling system mouse autonomously provides a rapid visual image transition from a first display to a second display in response to a predetermined condition detected at the mouse, such as a left click that an end user performs when on the visual image title bar accompanied by a gesture or a hot key input. The mouse responds to the inputs by commanding an acceleration of movement of the cursor coordinates so that the information handling system rapidly moves the visual image from the first display to the second. In various embodiments, the movement can include a selection to go to a full screen presentation or to keep the visual image size the same. The visual image transfer is performed without any coordination with the information handling system other than commanding cursor coordinate movements.
