Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for use in locating one or more merchant terminals based on transaction data associated with the terminals. One exemplary method generally includes accessing, by a computing device, transaction data for a transaction to a payment account between a merchant and a consumer at a merchant terminal where the transaction data includes a terminal ID for the merchant terminal, a merchant ID of the merchant, an acquirer ID for an acquirer associated with the merchant, and a temporal indicator. If no network connection is available to a transaction blockchain, the merchant device stores a record of the transaction until such network becomes available and later sends the record of the transaction to the transaction blockchain.

The method includes identifying an association rule for the aggregate merchant, including one or more antecedents. Each antecedent includes a model value for the antecedent associated with the aggregate merchant. The method also includes identifying one or more merchant data values associated with the merchant. Each of the one or more merchant data values correspond to one of the one or more antecedents. The method further includes applying the association rule to the one or more merchant data values by comparing the model value for each antecedent with a merchant data value associated with the corresponding antecedent, thereby generating a confidence score for the merchant. The confidence score represents a likelihood the merchant is associated with the aggregate merchant. The method also includes outputting the confidence score.

The encrypted transaction code can be generated and sent to the point-of-sale terminal by a mobile device that runs a mobile application associated with the mobile wallet provider. The mobile device receives from a point-of-sale terminal an identifier of the first entity, a transaction amount of a transaction, and a transaction identifier for the transaction, receives an authorization from a user of the mobile device for the transaction while the user is at the point-of-sale terminal, and determines that the mobile device is unable to communicate with the mobile wallet provider.

It is also determined using the sensors that the first individual has consumed at least a portion of the first item.

The method includes storing a first tip amount and a second tip amount corresponding to a first merchant and a second merchant, respectively. Then, categorizing the first tip amount and the second tip amount into a lower weighted category or higher weighted category. The method also includes generating, using a weighted model that includes machine learning logic: a first score for the first merchant based on the first tip amount and the category of the first tip amount; and a second score for the second merchant based on the second tip amount and the category of the second tip amount. Tip amounts in the higher weighted category carry more weight in generating scores than those in the lower weighted category. Then, either the first merchant or the second merchant is recommended based on the scores.
