  • Patent number: 9432922
Abstract: Apparatuses (including user equipment (UE) and modem chips for UE), systems, and methods for reducing false alarms (FAs) and miss-detections (MDs) in cell search results are described. In one method, the minimum of a value for the accumulated metric for a first short code and a value for the accumulated metric for a second short code is used as a pruning metric for each candidate cell. One or more thresholds are applied to the pruning metric to determine whether the candidate cell will be pruned from the final candidate cell list.

  • Patent number: 9396436
Abstract: A system and method for providing targeted content to a surfer is disclosed. Exemplary embodiments of the present invention seek to provide novel solutions for determining which content object, taken from a group of content objects, will be best suited for presentation in association with a link on a web page that has been requested by a certain surfer. Exemplary types of content objects may comprise the text, topic, font, color or other attribute of an external advertisement or internal advertisement. Still other content objects may comprise the specific design of the object, an image, the design of the page in which the object is presented, etc. The decision process for selecting a content object can be based on predictive information that is associated with the request, such as a common HTTP request, or historical information about the surfer.

  • Patent number: 9369510
Abstract: A plurality of input data streams, from a plurality of data sources, are identified. The input data streams are in a plurality of different formats. For each of the input data streams, one of a plurality of transcoders is selected, to obtain a transcoding plan. Each of the plurality of transcoders has an associated transcoding cost. A potential output for each of the plurality of transcoders has an associated storage cost, and the selecting step includes jointly reducing the overall cost, subject to appropriate constraints. The method can be employed, for example, for designing a new system or efficiently utilizing an existing system. The plurality of streams can be transcoded in accordance with the plan.

  • Patent number: 9363697
Abstract: A method of a transceiver arranged to operate in a cellular communication system comprising cells is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a transmission from a first cell; determining an interfering signal and its occupation in time and/or frequency; determining reduced values in the received signal corresponding to the occupation in time and/or frequency of the interfering signal; and measuring a quotient between desired signal and non-desired signal of reference symbols of the received signal. A channel quality index, CQI, is formed taking into account reduction of values performed at the reducing, and the CQI is reported to the communication system. A transceiver and computer program for the same are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9350853
Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring communication of mobile communication terminals, such as cellular phones. An off-air monitoring system reconstructs both directions of a call conducted between two mobile terminals by receiving only downlink channels. The off-air monitoring system receives multiple downlink transmissions transmitted by base stations in a wireless communication network. The system uses the received downlink transmissions to reconstruct the bidirectional call content of calls conducted between wireless terminals. In order to reconstruct the bidirectional content of a given call, the system identifies and correlates the two downlink transmissions of that call from among the multiple received downlink transmissions.

  • Patent number: 9336213
Abstract: A computerized file system is accessible over the Internet or other type of network, in which certain “triggering events” pertaining to the operation of the file system automatically generate a notification message to users. Once a user has been authenticated, this user's access rights are determined. An Automatic Notification function checks to see if any “triggering” events have occurred when a user performs a particular task. The Automatic Notification function defines what type of event will become a triggering event, and also defines what will be the triggering action, once the triggering event occurs, and stores this information in a database. The Auto-notification function can comprise programs that are launched to perform certain tasks. The precise type of auto-notification message is fully configurable for each component in the file system.

  • Patent number: 9312931
Abstract: In a case where, although a radio base station (eNB 1-1) has established an SRS transmission frequency band, a serving radio terminal (UE 2-1) has transmitted, to the radio base station (eNB 1-1), an SRS by use of only a frequency band that is a part of the SRS transmission frequency band, the radio base station (eNB 1-1) allocates a downstream resource block the frequency band of which is included in the SRS transmission frequency band and further the frequency band of which is identical with the frequency band of the SRS received at the latest; then establishes, for the downstream resource block, a transmission weight based on the SRS received at the latest; and then uses the downstream resource block to transmit a radio signal.
