  • Patent number: 9635485
Abstract: A method for setting up data sessions in a communication system is provided. The method comprises registering at least one user equipment with a service provider where after information about media capabilities is communicated between the at least one user equipment and the service provider and then stored. The method comprises further sending a request for a data session with at least one user equipment and using the stored information when setting up the requested data session. A communication system, an application server and a user equipment configured to operate accordingly are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8892645
Abstract: A system for selective sharing of flagged information in a group chat (i.e. instant messaging) that generates a user interface object enabling a flag setting participant to indicate which of the other chat participants can see a visible flag they are setting in association with selected content of the chat session. The flag is then visible only to those indicated other participants, both during the chat session and within copies of the saved chat transcript. A user interface object (e.g. a context window) provides chat participants with the ability to conveniently identify information about individual flags in the chat session, such as the identity of the participant that set a flag, when the flag was created, the priority associated with the flag, and/or other information. The system further enables chat participants to filter the contents of a chat transcript, so that only a subset of the chat transcript is displayed, based on flags contained in the transcript.

  • Patent number: 8886808
Abstract: A communication protocol specification is divided into subsets of parameters based on patterns established by equipment vendors. A combination of subsets is selected based on parameters and features supported by particular network devices installed in a network. A user interface facilitates convenient creation or modification of a configuration file, which instructs a network device how to format a communication message and what information is to be contained therein. After the configuration file is loaded into a device, it controls software switches in the device such that features and parameters corresponding to the parameters selected with the user interface and controlled by the switches are either enabled or disable based on the parameters selected. Supported parameter combinations for popular equipment may be prestored so that selection with the interface of a particular piece of equipment automatically edits the configuration file according to the features and parameters supported by said equipment.

  • Patent number: 8819215
Abstract: A system for providing step-ahead computing may include a client and a server. The client may include a communication element, a user interface element and a processor. The communication element may be configured to receive a set of pre-computed actions. The set of pre-computed actions may be based on at least one possible future state of the client. The user interface element may be configured to receive a user input corresponding to a particular action. The processor may be in communication with the communication element and the user interface element. The processor may be configured to determine whether the set of pre-computed actions include an action corresponding to the particular action and to execute the action in response to a determination that the set of pre-computed actions include the action corresponding to the particular action. The server may include a processing element, a pre-computing element and a server side communication element.

  • Patent number: 8745181
Abstract: The present invention provides a technique to define objects and object instances in a dynamically modifiable table within the confines of a management information base definition. With the invention, new objects and object instances may be added to the table without changing the management information base definition at a managed device or network management system. The managed device can change the table, yet allow the network management system to access the table using an associated object identifier. The network management system can systematically step through the various objects or object instances, which may correspond to rows and columns of the table, to detect additions or modifications to the table. The various objects and object instances in the table may be individually accessed, once identified, using a unique object identifier.

  • Patent number: 8521803
Abstract: To reduce the call cost for user messages of a few tens of bytes through a mobile telephone network (3), and to avoid having to set up a call channel as is necessary for transmitting data of several thousands of bytes, spare fields in signaling messages are used to convey the user messages, a call then taking place via signaling messages, and without a dedicated call channel being set up.

  • Patent number: 8495136
Abstract: A system and method is provided for initiating batch processing on a computer system from a terminal. The method generates a message from the terminal, where the message defines a transaction to be performed on a computer system. The transaction schedules and runs a program that extracts data from the message. The message is then transmitted to the computer system. The data is then used to generate batch job control language and a batch job is run on the computer system. The output of the batch job is then routed back to the terminal.

  • Patent number: 8495144
Abstract: In one embodiment, a support vector machine is employed to compute a spam threshold and weights of tokens and heuristic rules. An incoming e-mail is parsed to determine if it contains one or more of the tokens. Tokens identified to be in the e-mail are then used to determine if the e-mail satisfies one or more heuristic rules. The weights of tokens found in the e-mail and the weights of the heuristic rules satisfied by the e-mail may be employed in the computation of a spam score. The spam score may be compared to the spam threshold to determine if the e-mail is spam or legitimate.

  • Patent number: 8412801
Abstract: Each of servers in a global list server system includes a local list of music piece data stored by the each server and a global list of the music piece data stored by the servers. A client requests an arbitrary server to provide the global list and the server transmits the global list to the client upon receiving the request. The client refers to the global list and requests a server storing desired music piece data to transfer the music piece data. The server transmits music piece data to the client upon receiving the transfer request for the music piece data.
