  • Patent number: 11063892
Abstract: Techniques are described that allow a user to control and/or restrict dissemination of content by other users related to an account of the user. For example, a request may be received, from a first user account, to restrict presentation of content having a characteristic and received from a second user account. An item of content having the characteristic may be received from the second user account. A first instruction to present a first representation of the item of content is sent to a first computing device associated with the first user account and based at least in part on the request to restrict presentation. A second instruction to present a second representation of the item of content is sent to a second computing device associated with the second user account, the second representation of the item of content being different than the first representation of the item of content.

  • Patent number: 11044634
Abstract: Systems, methods, computer-readable media, and devices are disclosed for collecting access point telemetry. A first access point is identified that is associated with a single instance on a pod. A hash identifier is identified, where the hash identifier identifies a radio frequency (RF) neighborhood of the first access point based on a geographical location of the first access point. Subsequent access point members of the RF neighborhood are dynamically determined by dynamically assigning a second access point to the RF neighborhood, the dynamic assignment based on the second access point being within a threshold geographical location to the first access point. Telemetry from the second access point is directed towards the single instance on the pod, where the pod receives telemetry for all access points in the dynamically determined RF neighborhood.

  • Patent number: 11025564
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for implementing direct memory access in a virtualized computing environment. A new mapping of interfaces between RNIC Consumer and RDMA Transport is defined, which enables efficient retry, a zombie detection mechanism, and identification and handling of invalid requests without bringing down the RDMA connection. Techniques are disclosed for out of order placement and delivery of ULP Requests without constraining the RNIC Consumer to the ordered networking behavior, if it is not required for the ULP (e.g., storage). This allows efficient deployment of an RDMA accelerated storage workload in a lossy network configuration, and reduction in latency jitter.

  • Patent number: 11005950
Abstract: A method, implemented in a communication device, of indicating a service supported by the communication device. A hash value is generated, using a hash function, based on a service identifier associated with the service. Respective portions of the hash value are mapped to respective bit locations in a bit string that represents membership of the service in a set of services supported by the communication device. The bit string is generated at least by setting the bit locations in the bit string to values that indicate that the service is supported by the communication device.

  • Patent number: 10979782
Abstract: System and methods for selecting one of the alternative streams of encoded media from a group of alternative streams of encoded media for use during start-up of playback of the encoded media in accordance with embodiments of this invention are disclosed. The systems and methods begin by determining an estimated stability period for a current bandwidth of a communicative connection between the playback device and a remote system providing the alternative streams of encoded. A test process is then performed on the streams of encoded media to select one of streams of encoded media that provides portions of said encoded media such that an underflow condition does not occur during the estimated stability period. The streaming of encoded media is then commenced by requesting the portions of encoded media be transmitted from the remote server using the selected stream.

  • Patent number: 10972574
Abstract: A method for stream-processing biomedical data includes receiving, by a file system on a computing device, a first request for access to at least a first portion of a file stored on a remotely located storage device. The method includes receiving, by the file system, a second request for access to at least a second portion of the file. The method includes determining, by a pre-fetching component executing on the computing device, whether the first request and the second request are associated with a sequential read operation. The method includes automatically retrieving, by the pre-fetching component, a third portion of the requested file, before receiving a third request for access to least the third portion of the file, based on a determination that the first request and the second request are associated with the sequential read operation.

  • Patent number: 10972341
Abstract: Systems and methods for stretching a subnet that do not require level 2 (L2) communications to be handled are provided. A user may gradually migrate VMs or applications instead of migrating an entire subnet at one time, may fail-over specific VMs without failing-over an entire subnet or renumbering IP addresses, may deploy applications to the cloud without the need to create a VPN, or may enable hybrid network connectivity without modifying routes or (re)configuring edge routers, among other benefits. The domains over which the subnet are stretched include a virtual gateway which is associated with the layer-3 (L3) addresses of the other domains. L3 communications within the domain are routed within that domain, and L3 communications within the subnet in another domain are intercepted by the local gateway, are passed to the remote gateway of the other domain, and are forwarded to the destination while leveraging L3 communications.
