Abstract: In an image-processing device, the controller determines a dot formation state of a target pixel in an image. The determination is performed alternately with a forward process and a reverse process while sequentially selecting each of pixel lines in an order progressing in a first direction. In the determination, each of the line processes is one of at least two of a first type line process, a second type line process, a third type line process, and a fourth type line process. Line processes are performed for a first unit area in a first pattern. Line processes are performed for a second unit area in a second pattern different from the first pattern.
Abstract: A system and method for enhancing fitness in an office environment includes receiving fitness goal data corresponding to a targeted fitness goal of at least one user. The user initiates a document processing request to commence processing on a networked document processing device. The user provides data identifying at least one electronic document desired for processing. Data relative to the user's location and the document processing devices is used, along with historical fitness information relative to the user and a user's fitness goal, to generate suggested document processing devices which are distanced so as to afford progress toward those goals.
Abstract: Methods and systems related to intelligent interruption handling by digital assistants are disclosed. In some embodiments, a first information provision process is initiated in response to a first speech input. The first information provision process comprises preparing a first response and a second response to the first speech input. After or concurrent with the provision of the first response to the user, but before provision of the second response to the user, an event operable to initiate a second information provision process is detected. The second information provision process is initiated in response to detecting the event. The second information provision process comprises preparing a third response to the event. A relative urgency between the second response and the third response is determined. One of the second response and the third response is provided to the user in an order based on the determined relative urgency.

The second sub-controller includes a second interruption information memory that stores second interruption information output from the second devices, and a second interruption controller that transmits an interruption signal upon storing of the second interruption information in the second interruption information memory, and reads and transmits the second interruption information.
Abstract: A first document image is scanned from a document in a first orientation, and a second document image is scanned from the document in a second orientation different from the first orientation. A wrinkle area candidate detecting unit rotates the first document image by a rotation angle between the first and second orientations, and detects as a wrinkle area candidate an object in a predetermined density range in the rotated first document image and the second document image. A similarity degree determining unit determines a similarity degree between the wrinkle area candidate of the rotated first document image and the corresponding wrinkle area candidate of the second document image. A wrinkle area removing unit removes the wrinkle area candidate as a wrinkle area if the similarity degree falls into a predetermined range.
Abstract: Provided is an image reading device including an irradiation section that irradiates a reading position with light, a color chart that includes plural color patches, and that is provided on a curved surface of a rotatable roller, an image capturing section that captures an image of the color chart at the reading position, and that outputs image signals which express the captured image, a correction section that corrects the image signals using a correction coefficient corresponding to the curved surface, and a calibration section that performs calibration using the image signals, which are corrected by the correction section, and representative color values of the plural color patches, the representative color values being stored in advance.
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a single-color image reading circuit and a fluorescent color area extracting circuit. The single-color image reading circuit reads an image on a document to create single-color image data. Abstract: An image processing device includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores computer-readable instructions therein. The computer-readable instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the image processing device to perform: acquiring a calibration value based on a plurality of test images that are printed on a recording medium, the calibration value indicating an amount of calibration; calibrating a target value by using the calibration value, the target value being used to determine a dot formation state of each pixel of an image in a halftone process; and generating print data by performing the halftone process on each pixel based on the calibrated target value.
Abstract: This document describes, among other things, a computer-implemented method. The method can include obtaining a plurality of text samples that each include one or more terms belonging to a first class of terms. The plurality of text samples can be classified into a plurality of groups of text samples. Each group of text samples can correspond to a different sub-class of terms. For each of the groups of text samples, a sub-class context model can be generated based on the text samples in the respective group of text samples. Particular ones of the sub-class context models that are determined to be similar can be merged to generate a hierarchical set of context models. Further, the method can include selecting particular ones of the context models and generating a class-based language model based on the selected context models.
Abstract: A control device suppresses modifying a program related to printer control when a connected printer is replaced with a printer having a different structure. A host computer has a print controller that can execute processes based on status data; a virtual second printing device that outputs response data when a control command output from the print controller is input; and a data processing unit that converts the input control command to a control command compatible with an inkjet printer and outputs to the inkjet printer when a control command output from the print controller is input, and when status data from the inkjet printer is input, converts the status data to data compatible with a thermal printer based on the structural differences between the inkjet printer and the thermal printer, and outputs to the print controller.
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for using a model of human speech quality perception to provide an objective measure for predicting subjective quality assessments. A Virtual Speech Quality Objective Listener (ViSQOL) model is a signal-based full-reference metric that uses a spectro-temporal measure of similarity between a reference signal and test speech signal. Specifically, the model provides for the ability to detect and predict the level of clock drift, and determine whether such clock drift will impact a listener's quality of experience.

Abstract: A system includes a processor and a non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions translatable by the processor. The instructions when translated by the processor cause the system to determine an exemplar reference which identifies a managed object stored in a repository residing in an enterprise computing environment. The system can determine a translation group utilizing the exemplar reference. The managed object may represent a content item. The translation group may include the content item and the content item may be multilingual enabled. The system can determine an effective locale for a request for content received from a client device communicatively connected to a web server in the enterprise computing environment, determine a language that is appropriate for the effective locale, and respond to the request for content with the content item or a translation of the content item that is in the language appropriate for the effective locale.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus receives print data from a client PC and analyzes a hierarchical structure relating to an item indicating a delimiter of a document included in the received print data. The image forming apparatus determines an insertion point at which an index sheet is inserted into a printed matter of the print data based on the results of analysis of the hierarchical structure. Then, the image forming apparatus inserts the index sheet into the printed matter at the determined insertion point and outputs the resulting printed matter.

Abstract: Spectral power distribution of an illumination is restored using color information in a region of the specific object in an input image and a pre-specified representative surface reflectance of the specific object. The surface reflectance in the region of the specific object is restored from the color information and the spectral power distribution of the illumination. The surface reflectance is corrected using three or more pre-specified reference surface reflectances of the specific object. The color in the region of the specific object is calculated from the spectral power distribution of the illumination and the corrected surface reflectance.
