  • Patent number: 10082913
Abstract: Embroidered sensor assemblies are described that are formed on a flexible substrate, such as a suitable fabric material. Conductive patterns are embroidered into the flexible substrate to form an array of sensors that can be configured in various ways and used in many different applications. A sensor assembly can implement touch sensitive sensors arranged to recognize input by measuring capacitance. The sensor assembly can also implement pressure and/or force sensitive controls for an input device, such as a keyboard. Other types of sensing are also contemplated such as detection of proximity, motion, flow, gestures, and/or strain. A conductive pattern can be formed in a single layer of material and/or via a single continuous run of conductive material. The embroidered sensor assembly is flexible and therefore can be shaped to conform to various different kinds of objects and form “smart” surfaces for those objects.

  • Patent number: 9977642
Abstract: The invention relates to an encoder and a decoder and methods therein for supporting screen sharing, where the screen sharing comprises encoding pictures F representing pixels of a shared screen, providing said pictures to a decoder where they are decoded. The method performed by the encoder comprises deriving information related to an object which is moved on the shared screen between two pictures Fn and Fn+1. At least part of the derived information is related to an intermediate position of the object, on the shared screen, between the two pictures Fn and Fn+1. The method further comprises providing said information to the decoder, thereby enabling the decoder to generate intermediate pictures, FIMD, in addition to the pictures, F, based on the provided information, wherein the object is generated in different positions in said intermediate pictures, FIMD, thus reconstructing the movement of the object between two provided pictures Fn and Fn+1.

  • Patent number: 9977546
Abstract: Groove analysis in a device having a tactile input surface suited to detect more than one tactile input at a time. Using groove analysis allows a touch screen device a more robust and efficient algorithm for distinguishing between two different tactile inputs. The touch screen device may include a touch screen controller that includes an analysis circuit for determining grooves between touch inputs. Generally, when a touch input is received at the surface of a touch screen device, the touch screen may register touch strength signals at each of a plurality of touch regions. A groove may be generally defined as a touch region that exhibits a touch strength signal that is less than surrounding touch regions. Once all touch regions are analyzed by a groove analysis, various touch regions determined to grooves may be eliminated from a further analysis to determine the XY coordinates of actual touch inputs.

  • Patent number: 9904055
Abstract: An HMD device is configured to check the placement of newly introduced objects in a virtual reality environment such as interactive elements like menus, widgets, and notifications to confirm that the objects are significantly present within the user's field of view. If the intended original placement would locate the object outside the field of view, the HMD device relocates the object so that a portion of the object is viewable at the edge of the HMD display closest to its original placement. Such smart placement of virtual objects enables the user to readily discover new objects when they are introduced into the virtual reality environment, and then interact with the objects within a range of motions and/or head positions that is comfortable to support a more optimal interaction and user experience.

  • Patent number: 9858034
Abstract: A display (101) is controlled by a display drive signal (S2) generated based on an input signal (S1) encoding a safety-critical quantity. A checksum (S4) is computed based on the display drive signal and is used to verify the rendering process by which the display drive signal has been produced. In order for the checksum to depend on the safety-critical quantity only, the checksum is computed based on a filtered display drive signal (S3) in which pixels with a certain value have been excluded. In embodiments of the invention, safety-noncritical quantities are represented using colors that are due to be excluded. Similarly, a checksum for verifying a given quantity can be made independent of other quantities represented in adjacent screen areas by representing the latter using excluded colors. In other embodiments, pixel values corresponding to particular pixel positions may be excluded from contributing.
