  • Patent number: 11024522
Abstract: The present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for temperature sensing and control during substrate processing. Substrate temperatures during processing, which are difficult to measure directly, may be determined by examination of deposited film properties or by measuring changes in power output over time of the substrate heating apparatus. Temperatures are determined for many substrates during processing, showing how substrate temperatures change over time, and the temperature changes are then used to build models via machine learning techniques. The models are used to adjust heating apparatus setpoints for future processing operations.

  • Patent number: 11014295
Abstract: A system and method for optimizing an additive manufacturing process in which a reinforcement material is randomly introduced to a fabrication bed. An image of the fabrication bed is captured. The image is analyzed by code in a computer to identify the actual arrangement of the randomly deposited reinforcement material relative to the object being manufactured. Based on the image data showing the reinforcement material, a toolpath is dynamically determined that incorporates the random reinforcement material. Accordingly, the toolpath incorporates the reinforcement material into the structure of the object, which can result in a reduction of the total amount of raw material is fused to create the object being manufactured.

  • Patent number: 11000716
Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a distance-learning safety retraction device (DLSRD) mechanically coupled to a fixed anchor point on a boundary-mapped surface, the DLSRD including two receivers in operable communication with a transmitter borne on a user. The DLSRD may include, for example, an extraction detector detecting an extracted length of the lanyard. The DLSRD may determine user proximity to a safe operating area boundary based upon a difference of a current extracted length of the lanyard to a learned extracted length associated with a current angle of the lanyard, for example. Various DLSRDs may be configured in a run-mode to apply a braking effect to the lanyard and/or to activate a warning device based upon the user's proximity to the boundary.
