Abstract: An object of the present disclosure is to make it possible to measure an IP flow corresponding to time-varying, high-speed traffic. The present disclosure is a device that monitors traffic in a network, the device comprising a memory that records, for each flow in the network, metadata and flow information to be used in measurement, wherein a traffic state is forecasted using a packet flowing in the network; and a recording area for the metadata and the flow information in the memory is set based on the forecasted traffic state.

Abstract: A congested network link is identified. Applications that are contributing to the congestion are also identified. The contribution of each of the identified applications to the congestion is then determined in order to determine whether the application's usage of the network should be throttled. A control signal is generated in order to indicate to the application that it is to perform an application-specific throttling operation to reduce the network bandwidth consumed by the application. If the application-specific throttling does not sufficiently reduce network congestion, a more aggressive throttling operation is performed.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for reporting user equipment activity during a 5G Media Streaming (5GMS) uplink streaming session are provided, which may include initializing contribution reporting based on selected user preferences during media streaming during the 5GMS uplink streaming session, and transmitting a contribution report associated with the media streaming during the 5GMS uplink streaming session. The approach may further include generating a final contribution report associated with the media streaming during the 5GMS uplink streaming session in response to receiving a signal to stop media streaming.

Abstract: A network quality detection method and device, a network element device, a computer device, and a computer readable medium. The method comprises: separately sending a subscription command to an ingress network element device and an egress network element device of a service flow, the subscription command comprising at least a detection type and a reporting period, so that network element devices bearing the service flow send data according to the detection type and the reporting period; receiving the data sent by the network element devices; determining the path of the service flow according to the data; and detecting the network quality of the path according to the data and a predetermined indicator threshold.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for delivering notifications to a device or accessory based on the context. A host device may be wirelessly coupled to one or more accessories that are available to receive a notification. The host device may analyze a context for transmitting a notification, such as analyzing user attention and accessory state. Analyzing user attention and accessory state may be done by analyzing sensor data, such as audio input, image sensors, proximity sensors, etc. The host device may determine a content type, such as text, e-mail, news, or download, content classification, such as urgent, sensitive, or reminder, and a notification type, such as visual, audio, or haptic. The host device may select at least one of the accessories based on the context. The host device may transmit the notification to the selected accessory.

Abstract: A method for handling large-scale host failures on a cloud platform includes: configuring a corresponding failed host queue for each host group; setting initial priority values and evacuation count thresholds for cloud hosts; arranging failed hosts in failed host queues according to priorities of the failed hosts, and arranging the cloud hosts in the failed hosts according to priority values of the cloud hosts; handling, by the host group, the failed hosts the cloud hosts and in the corresponding failed host queue according to an arrangement order; when evacuation of a cloud host fails, re-determining a priority value of the cloud host; detecting evacuation capability of the host group corresponding to each failed host queue, and disabling a failed host queue having poor evacuation capability; arranging failed hosts in the disabled failed host queue into remaining failed host queues; and enabling a failed host queue meeting a condition.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to systems and methods for providing a smart cache. In embodiments, a variable time to live (TTL) may be calculated and associated with data as it is stored in a cache. The variable TTL may be calculated based upon reputation and/or category information related to the source of the data. The reputation and/or category information may include TTL modifiers for adjusting the TTL for data from a particular data source that is stored in the cache. In further embodiments, a feedback method may be employed to update reputation and/or category information for a particular data source.

In some embodiments, a method for a network node includes grouping, at an open systems interconnection, OSI, layer 2, L2, codeblocks, CBs, based at least in part on a hardware property associated with an OSI layer 1, L1, processing engine; and sending the grouped CBs to the OSI L1 processing engine. In some embodiments, a method for a network node includes receiving, by an open systems interconnection, OSI, layer 1, L1, processing engine, a group of codeblocks, CBs, the CBs being grouped together based at least in part on a hardware property associated with the OSI L1 processing engine; and performing CB group-level encoding on at least the received group of CBs.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory, machine-readable media to facilitate streaming in a local network are disclosed. A primary media device may be configured to: operate as a server in a local network, receive audio/video (A/V) content, and provide the A/V content to a first display. A secondary media device may be communicatively connected to the primary media device and may be configured to: operate as a client with respect to the primary media device in the local network, receive the A/V content from the primary media device, and provide the A/V content to a second display. The primary media device and the secondary media device may use multiple subnets in the local network. The primary media device and/or the secondary media device may select a first subnet of the multiple subnets to use based at least in part on a type of content to communicate via the first subnet.

Abstract: An IP address assigning device can reduce registration information required for controlling traffic by calculating, for traffic between a plurality of user terminals and a plurality of services in a past period, a statistic of the traffic for each of a plurality of combinations of a user terminal, a service, and a time period, and extracting a plurality of patterns relating to the traffic based on a plurality of the statistics; classifying the plurality of user terminals into a plurality of groups based on the patterns; and assigning IP addresses belonging to a subnetwork to corresponding ones of the plurality of user terminals for each of the plurality of groups.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for providing automated admission control services for a RAN system. The method receives a trigger alert that includes an application identifier for an application, a dRIC identifier associated with a dRIC to which the application is to be deployed, and a set of configurations for the application that are in a first format. The method converts the set of configurations from the first format to a second format and sends the set configurations in the second format to an FCAPS management pod deployed to the dRIC. Upon receiving positive acknowledgment indicating successful implementation of the set of configurations from the FCAPS management pod, the method updates a configuration table stored in a database of the RAN with a set of admissions control information for the application. The method sends a notification to an API server for the RAN indicating the set of configurations have been successfully implemented for the application.

Abstract: A multi-point videoconferencing system includes video conferencing terminals in communication with a multipoint conferencing node (MCN). A method includes defining at least a first virtual studio and a second virtual studio, each of the at least first and second virtual studios having a policy for each of a set of the tags; initiating a first multi-point videoconferencing session according to the first virtual studio, such that each of the video conferencing terminals in the first multi-point videoconferencing session is connected to the MCN according to the first virtual studio policy of at least one tag of the video conferencing terminal; and reconfiguring, upon switching to the second virtual studio, the first multi-point videoconferencing session according to the second virtual studio, such that each of the videoconferencing terminals in the first multi-point videoconferencing session is connected to the MCN according to the second virtual studio policy for at least one tag.

Abstract: A system and method to manage a surge network traffic targeting a service-hosting platform are disclosed. For an offer of goods and/or services, the platform provider generates a static package that is placed in networked storage that is accessible through a web service interface. The package contains the information required to instantiate and render the interface of the service-hosting platform using the processor and resources of the computer that accesses the package via a browser. Based on the contents of the package, the rendered interface presents the services of the service-hosting platform using resources of the customer's computer without making any calls to a server to query a protected backend system. Access to the protected backend resources and platform resources is gated by threshold actions taken by the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for routing packet data for transmission via a plurality of communication links are described. A method may include dividing a usage cycle for the plurality of communication links into a plurality of timeslots. Packet data traffic demands for the packet data for transmission via the plurality of communication links may be received. Based on a mixed integer linear programming model, an allocation of the packet data traffic demands to the plurality of communication links during the usage cycle may be determined using binary constraints of the mixed integer linear programming model. The binary constraints may prioritize respective subsets of the plurality of timeslots for at least some of the plurality of communication links. For each of the plurality of timeslots, an allocation of the packet data traffic demands to each of the plurality of communication links may be determined using the mixed integer linear programming model.

Abstract: Methods and system of traffic load balancing between a plurality of Points of Presence (PoP) of a cloud computing infrastructure are described. A first PoP of multiple PoPs of cloud computing infrastructure that provides a cloud computing service receives a packet. The packet includes as a destination address an anycast address advertised by the first PoP for reaching the cloud computing service. The first PoP identifies a network address of a second PoP that is different from the first PoP. The first PoP forwards the packets as an encapsulated packet to the second PoP to be processed in the second PoP according to the cloud computing service.

Abstract: A data transaction processing system includes a quarantine system that delays messages configured to accept a delay before being processed by the data transaction processing system. During periods of heavy network traffic, the imposed delay reduces network congestion by distributing/load leveling messages according to available computing resources. Separating messages over time also reduces the processing latency of the data transaction processing system. Messages that are routed and delayed through the quarantine system may be executed at a better transactional value than other non-delayed messages.
