  • Patent number: 9894167
Abstract: A computer system may notify a user about personally attended services satisfying temporal-spatial criteria. The computer system may use a user location and/or information on already scheduled events to determine whether a personally attended service satisfies the temporal-spatial criteria. Travel time may be determined and included when determining whether the personally attended service conflicts with an already scheduled event. The temporal-spatial criteria may also include availability of the personally attended service. A user profile and/or third party information may be used to determine if a user is available and/or would be receptive to a personally attended service. The user profile may be generated from third party information, such as contained in an online social network, and/or learned. The user may be able to reserve the personally attended service through the computer system.

  • Patent number: 9894457
Abstract: Devices, computer readable media, and methods for supporting services at an application service layer (ASL) are disclosed. The ASL may be a machine-to-machine (M2M) services capability layer (SCL). Content functions may interpret the data to generate a semantic description of the data. Semantic information associated with data may be stored. Context aware functions may process the semantic description of the data to generate lower level contextual cues. Context aware reasoning functions may process the lower level contextual cues to deduce higher level context. An application or a second ASL may use the contextual cues and the situational context to trigger an action. The ASL may create a trigger condition based on a received message. The ASL may invoke a function based on detecting a trigger condition. The ASL may perform a command based on a received command. The ASL may use a objective function and feedback to control a device.

  • Patent number: 9852450
Abstract: Location-blocking and identity-blocking services that can be commercially offered by a service promoter, e.g., a cellular service provider or a web advertiser. In the identity-blocking service, the service provider may disclose the current physical location of a mobile subscriber (i.e., a cellular phone operator) to a third party (e.g., a web advertiser) subscribing to the identity-blocking service. However, the service provider may not send any identity information for the mobile subscriber to the third party. On the other hand, in the location-blocking service, the service provider may disclose the mobile subscriber's identity information to the third party, but not the current physical location of the mobile subscriber. Blocking of the mobile subscriber's identity or location information may be desirable for privacy reasons, to comply with a government regulation, or to implement a telecommunication service option selected by the mobile sub scriber.

  • Patent number: 9838839
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for maintaining user anonymity in content statistics. A system can first receive a media content request from a client device. The media content request can include a user account identifier and a content identifier. The content identifier can be different and separate from the user account identifier and a device identifier associated with the client device, and the content identifier can identify content presented at the client device. Next, the system can store the user account identifier and the content identifier in separate locations without attributing the content identifier to the user account identifier. In response to the media content request, the system can transmit a media content item to the client device based on the user account identifier. The system can also report the content presented at the client device with the content identifier and without the user account identifier.
