  • Patent number: 10136377
Abstract: The invention is directed to optimization of a seamless transition of a mobile device from a 3G eHRPD network to a 4G network in a failure scenario. The mobile device is authenticated and attached to the 3G eHRPD network. Upon the mobile device initiating a first handoff attempt to access and access the 4G network, the subscriber profile database is accessed to determine whether a packet gateway identifier is stored on the database. If the identifier is not stored on the database, the first handoff attempt of the mobile device to access the 4G network is denied. Upon being denied, the packet gateway is triggered to communicate the packet gateway identifier in an authorization request so that the identifier can be stored in the subscriber profile database. A subsequent attempt of the mobile device to handoff to the 4G network is allowed, as the packet gateway identifier is now stored on the database.

  • Patent number: 10034211
Abstract: The disclosure describes is a channel switching strategy and corresponding protocol for a mesh network which comprises a segment controller (SC) and a large number of outdoor luminaire controllers (OLCs) or other network nodes. A channel switching process is initiated and managed by the SC which transmits a channel switching command to all nodes in the system. Following the actual channel switch, the SC delegate's responsibility to request an orphan node to switch to the new channel to a selected delegate node which is a neighbor node of the orphan node. The selection of the delegate node may be based on a prioritization. When an OLC does not receive any messages for a specified, prolonged period of time, it may scan available frequency bands to find the (new) channel in which the networked system operates at that time.

  • Patent number: 9979650
Abstract: A device may receive a packet with a destination address, and may input, to a probabilistic filter, prefixes associated with the destination address. A prefix may include one or more most significant bits of the destination address. The device may identify candidate prefixes associated with a response from the probabilistic filter. The device may identify a longest candidate prefix of the candidate prefixes, and may perform a lookup to determine that a memory component includes a parent prefix that matches the longest candidate prefix. The parent prefix may be associated with a child prefixes that include the parent prefix and one or more additional bits. The device may identify a longest matching prefix, of the parent prefix and the child prefixes, that matches one or more most significant bits of the destination address and that corresponds to an output component. The device may output the packet via the output component.

  • Patent number: 9974065
Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate requesting blanking over control resources from one or more interfering eNBs or devices. An eNB, such as a macrocell, femtocell or picocell eNB, can transmit a downlink control blanking message to a UE directing the UE to perform blanking (e.g., for uplink control resources) or request the blanking from the interfering eNBs or devices (e.g., for downlink control resources). The downlink control blanking message can specify the desired control resources and/or information to determine the control resources. Thus, dynamic control blanking is provided such that blanking is requested to mitigate interference over control resources for the small scale eNB. The small scale eNB can subsequently communicate control data to the UE over the control resources; the control data can include a resource blanking message that similarly directs the UE to request blanking of general data resource from the interfering eNBs or devices.

  • Patent number: 9967880
Abstract: A method of data transmission over guard sub-carriers is provided in a multi-carrier OFDM system. Adjacent radio frequency (RF) carriers are used to carry radio signals transmitted through adjacent frequency channels. A plurality of guard sub-carriers between adjacent frequency channels are aligned and identified for data transmission in a pre-defined physical resource unit. The identified guard sub-carriers do not overlap with normal data sub-carriers of the radio signals transmitted through the adjacent frequency channels. At least one of the identified guard sub-carriers is reserved as NULL sub-carrier. A flexible multi-carrier transceiver architecture is also provided in a multi-carrier OFDM system. Different multi-carrier and/or MIMO/SISO data transmission schemes are implemented by adaptively reconfigure same hardware modules including common MAC layer module, physical layer entities, and RF entities.

  • Patent number: 9967879
Abstract: Provided is a radio communication base station device which can prevent lowering of use efficiency of a channel communication resource for performing a frequency diversity transmission when simultaneously performing a frequency scheduling transmission and the frequency diversity transmission in a multicarrier communication. In the device, a modulation unit (12) executes a modulation process on Dch data after encoded so as to generate a Dch data symbol. A modulation unit (22) executes a modulation process on the encoded Lch data so as to generate an Lch data symbol. An allocation unit (103) allocates the Dch data symbol and the Lch data symbol to respective subcarriers constituting an OFDM symbol and outputs them to a multiplexing unit (104). Here, when a plurality of Dch are used for a Dch data symbol of one mobile station, the allocation unit (103) uses Dch of continuous channel numbers.

  • Patent number: 9949294
Abstract: A client station (STA), when operating in a wireless network, receives data sent by an access point (AP) on a first channel comprising at least one subchannel. During reception of the data on the first channel, the STA monitors channel availability of an additional set of one or more subchannels. In response to a detected availability of at least one newly-available subchannel, the STA sends at least one notification to the AP identifying STA-side availability of the newly-available subchannel(s). The STA subsequently receives data from the AP on the newly-available subchannel(s), which is sent in response to the at least one notification. The AP, when communicating data to the STA, receives the at least one notification from the STA and, in response thereto, initiates data transmission on one or more of the newly-available channel(s).
