Abstract: A decorative covering for covering a passageway gate, the covering including a sleeve bounding a gate-receiving area. The sleeve has a front, a back, and a perimeter between the front and back. The gate-receiving area is sized and shaped to receive and cover a gate between the front, back, and perimeter of the sleeve. The perimeter includes a bottom which is releasably coupled to the front of the sleeve to move between a closed position secured to the front of the sleeve and an open position away from the front of the sleeve, defining an entrance to the gate-receiving area sized to receive the passageway gate for application therethrough. Openings are formed in the perimeter in communication with the gate-receiving area.

Abstract: A fiber preform architecture and method of making, including a plurality of fiber bands. Each band of the plurality of fiber bands is placed at a time, at a predetermined position and orientation, to generate an interwoven and interlocking pattern between the fiber bands. Each of the plurality of fiber bands is formed of a plurality of fiber tows, positioned side by side at a predetermined spacing to define one or more gaps between each tow in the fiber band and define a secondary based interleaving within each of the fiber bands. The plurality of fiber bands are interwoven in an in-plane and out-of-plane orientation by interleaving each of the plurality of fiber bands with one or more of the plurality of fiber bands previously laid down and not in a common plane. The plurality of fiber bands include three or more different orientation angles and provide uniformity in coverage.

Abstract: Provided is an advanced grid structure manufactured by a lamination step of laminating a first tape prepreg group, a second tape prepreg group, and a third tape prepreg group repeatedly in the stated order on a forming die, in which grooves (2, 3, 4) in a lattice shape are formed in three directions, so as to provide crossing regions (7, 8, 9) in which two tape prepreg groups overlap each other, and a heating forming step of forming a laminate by heating under pressure. In the lamination step, the first tape prepreg group, the second tape prepreg group, and the third tape prepreg group are respectively laminated as one layer in crossing regions (7, 8, 9) so that a tape width is maintained, and laminated in non-crossing regions (2a, 3a, 4a) in a state of being folded as two layers in a width direction thereof.

Abstract: The present invention relates to both a material construction and manufacturing method resulting in low density materials, especially for use as subsea buoyancy and insulation. The products are made by an additive manufacturing process, printing thin layers of a polymer material while leaving voids of precisely predetermined shapes, sizes and distribution, with precisely predetermined thicknesses between the voids. The resulting products provide optimized strength, buoyancy and insulative value with minimal material usage and density.
Abstract: Process for producing a laminate being built of at least two monolayers of polymeric tapes, the polymeric tapes having a tensile strength of at least 200 MPa, said process comprises the steps of forming a first monolayer of polymeric tapes by pre-tensioning the polymeric tapes and subsequently positioning the polymeric tapes under tension in a unidirectional, parallel manner, forming at least a second monolayer over the first monolayer in the same manner the first monolayer is formed, thereby stacking the at least two monolayers of polymeric tapes in such a way that the direction of the polymeric tapes is the same in every monolayer and that the polymeric tapes of each monolayer are offset to the tapes of the adjoining monolayer above or below that monolayer consolidating the thus stacked monolayers of polymeric tapes to obtain a laminate.
