Abstract: The present invention provides a foam body suitable for producing a cultured meat having a good texture. The foam body of the present invention includes alginic acid and/or an alginate. The foam body has an elastic modulus M, as determined by a test, of 8×104 Pa or less. In the test, the foam body is immersed in 22±3° C. water for 4 hours to prepare a specimen having a post-immersion thickness of 5±1 mm. Stress and strain caused in the specimen are measured by applying a load to the specimen for 5 seconds to compress the specimen in a thickness direction at 0.5 mm/sec. A stress caused in the specimen when the specimen is compressed by 10% of an initial thickness is determined, and a value obtained by dividing the stress by a corresponding strain is determined as the elastic modulus M.
Abstract: A stitched article includes a substrate and a first strand portion formed from a bundle of fibers. The substrate has a first region and a second region. The first strand portion is attached to the substrate in the first region and in the second region via a series of stitches formed with a thread and forms a first layer on the substrate. The article has a first concentration of the stitches in the first region along a first length of the strand portion and a second concentration of the stitches different than the first concentration in the second region along a second length of the first strand portion.

Abstract: A confection mold conveying system and methods for manufacturing of confection products, the system including a first conveyor segment and a second conveyor segment. The first conveyor segment has a first pusher bar and a series of spaced apart first pusher fingers extending therefrom. The first pusher fingers are oriented to engage confection mold trays while the first pusher bar is translated in a first direction. The first pusher fingers are re-oriented to avoid engagement with the confection mold trays while the first pusher bar is translated in a second direction opposite the first direction. The second conveyor segment receives the confection mold trays from the first conveyor segment and can include a first rotatable shaft with a first helical channel to receive a first tab of one of the confection mold trays. Rotation of the rotatable shaft thereby continuously advances the respective confection mold tray in the first direction.

Abstract: A breathable waterproof sheet, which interposes a support layer having a plurality of holes formed therein, thus preventing a waterproof air-permeable layer from colliding with a pressure sensor by a water pressure. The breathable waterproof sheet includes a waterproof air-permeable layer formed of a film having elasticity, an adhesive layer having one surface adhered to one surface of the waterproof air-permeable layer, and a support layer having a plurality of air-permeable holes formed therein and having one surface adhered to the other surface of the adhesive layer.
Abstract: A laminated surface covering including a facing material made of vinyl and a backing material comprising a rubber component. The rubber component comprising at least a matrix of bonded rubber granules. A bonding material disposed between the facing material and the backing material. The facing material configured to melt at a temperature between 165° F. and 248° F. infiltrating the backing material thereby essentially encasing the rubber granules of the matrix and providing fire retardation and smoke suppression qualities.
Abstract: Liquid thickener compositions are provided. The compositions may be used to thicken foods and other products. The compositions include at least one gum or thickener and one or more hydration or swelling inhibitors. The inhibitors decrease the viscosity of the concentrated thickener composition, but then permit the composition to function as a thickener upon dilution. Such compositions may provide for thickener compositions that are readily flowable and that require decreased mixing compared to other thickener compositions.
Abstract: A friction damped insert for highly stressed engineering components is disclosed. The disclosed inventive concept provides a method and system for increasing the damping capacity of an engineering system by adding a non-flat solid, highly damped insert to a system component that contributes most to the system's dynamic response. The insert can either be embedded into a system component during casting or be fastened to the system component outer surface. The insert is made of the single layer of flexible material by forming it into a rigid elongated body. The layer of material can be turned over on itself without folding to create a cylinder or can be folded over a number of times to create a prismatic bar. The layer of material may be shaped into a corrugated panel. The layer of flexible material may have a number of relatively small openings or perforations with a uniform spatial distribution.
Abstract: A food with an extended shelf-life and a method of extending shelf-life of food is provided herein. The extended shelf-life is provided by treating the food with at least one shelf-life extender selected from a group consisting of an isothiocyanate, a non-aromatic cyclic ketone, a boronic acid, a ligand and their precursors.
