Abstract: The present device relates to an apparatus and system used in lighting or illuminating signs, logos or sidewall letters using fluorescent lights or lamps, alone or in combination with reflective coating which can be applied to the sign interior, and reflective surfaces added in the sign interior, to deflect, disperse, reflect and direct the light emitted form the fluorescent lamps to a sign front. The apparatus and system comprises a back panel having sidewalls proximate the perimeter of the back panel and which extend upwardly to form a light channel. Sockets for receiving fluorescent lamps and their corresponding ballasts are mounted separately to the back panel such that the distance between the fluorescent lamps and the top of the light channel is maximized and the distance between the socket and the back panel is minimized. The distribution, number and relative position of the sockets and corresponding ballasts on the back panel can be adjusted to achieve the desired light illumination.

Abstract: A suspension device for attaching a sheet-shaped information medium to a wall including a first end wall element and a second end wall element carrying an end pulley each configured to be mounted onto a surface. The device further includes an upper bar carrying a pair of bar end pulleys disposed at opposed first and second end portions thereof and a lower bar cooperating with the upper bar to support the sheet-shaped information medium. An intermediate pulley system is provided that includes a pair of intermediate bar pulleys carried by the upper bar, and an intermediate wall element carrying an intermediate element pulley arranged to be positioned between the first and second end wall elements. A cord is provided that is secured to the first end wall element and extends through the plurality of pulleys carried by the upper bar and wall elements.

Abstract: A sign assembly 10 that implements electronic paper to display an animated image. The sign assembly includes a controller 12, a power supply 14, a pair of substantially transparent, electrically conductive sheets 16, 18, and a sheet of electronic paper 24, which is sandwiched between sheets 16, 18. Image layers 20, 22 are imprinted on the sheets 16, 18, or are alternatively held frictionally adjacent to sheets 16, 18 by a frame assembly 56. Image layers 20, 22 include substantially transparent regions 36, 38, 40 and 42 in which sheet 24 is visible. The conductive sheets 16, 18 are connected to controller 12 which provides an electronic signal which is varied over time resulting in the display of an animated or changing image which may be visible when viewed from one or both sides of the sign assembly 10.

Abstract: An improved display device is disclosed for holding an advertisement or the like in a card or sheet-like form upon a shopping cart. The display device comprises a base panel having a substantially rectangular body and a plurality of longitudinal slots formed therethrough, the slots extending across the body of the base panel in separate radial and tangential directions to provide multiple areas of access to the shopping cart wall for balanced mounting of the device. Each of the slots is further provided with a support post extending centrally across the width of the slot to provide support for the attachment to the shopping cart wall by means of conventional cable ties. A cover frame adapted to releasably engage the base panel around the periphery thereof is formed having a substantially rectangular outer configuration and a rectangular aperture through the thickness thereof to provide a viewing window for the advertisement displayed through the frame.

Abstract: A product information display apparatus is provided to display primary and secondary product information. The display apparatus generally comprises a label holder and a sign holder. The label holder includes a sleeve having front and rear walls defining an interior pocked sized to receive a label having primary product information. The sign holder is structured for selective attachment to the label holder to position a sign adjacent the front wall of the sleeve, the sign having secondary product information. Preferably, the sign holder has a general C-shape with the free ends of the C-shape defining a throat sized smaller than a height of the sleeve. Also, the general C-shape is preferably defined by a pair of rear walls connected by a front wall, the front wall spaced from the pair of rear walls a distance similar to a thickness of the sleeve to securely position the sign.

Abstract: A flat, substantially transparent lens lying in a flat plane retains a designation card within a recess in a surface. The lens is made of flexible sheet plastic with means at either end for securing the lens in the recess. At one end, a tab is integral with the lens and has an attachment end which joins the lens. The tab extends away from the plane of the lens to a geniculation spaced from the lens plane. At the geniculation, the tab reverses direction and extends toward the lens plane to return generally to that plane, where it terminates in a finger grip.

Abstract: An ice fishing hole simulator system for visually simulating an ice fishing experience based about an ice fishing hole. The ice fishing hole simulator system includes a housing having an upper opening, an upper mirror positioned about the upper opening, a tube extending downwardly from the upper mirror, a lower mirror positioned within the bottom portion of the housing opposite of the upper mirror, and a plurality of lights surrounding the tube. The tube is comprised of a translucent material such as plastic or glass. The tube preferably includes a length of clear portion and a length of opaque portion encompassing the tube in a spiraling manner thereby recreating the inner surface appearance of an ice hole created by an ice auger. The upper mirror is comprised of a two-way mirror structure with the reflective surface facing the lower mirror and the viewing surface facing upwardly to allow an individual to look into the simulated ice hole.

Abstract: A picture frame assembly for enhancing the display of a picture and other viewable objects in a display frame and to a method of framing the picture and objects. The assembly includes a housing having a back wall, an annular side wall projecting from the back wall, a front opening circumscribed by the side wall; a two-dimensional background scene mounted within the housing adjacent to the back thereof; a two-dimensional picture mounted within the housing in front of and in viewing association the background scene; a three-dimensional motif mounted within the housing in front of and in viewing association with both the scene and the picture, the motif and the background scene suggesting a theme related to the picture; and a magnifying lens mounted in the opening of the housing and providing a common field of view for the scene, the picture and the motif.

Abstract: A lid for a casket includes a cover including longitudinally spaced-apart first and second end edges, transversely spaced-apart first and second side edges, and a dome extending between the first and second side edges and between the first and second end edges, and an end cap including an end panel and a rim appended to the end panel. The end cap is coupled to the cover adjacent to the first end edge. The rim extends from the end panel to cover a portion of the cover adjacent to the first end edge.

Abstract: A fire simulating assembly is provided having a light source, a vertical screen having a diffusing surface and a partially reflective surface, and a rear mirror having a reflective flame pattern. The assembly also includes a rotatable flicker element for reflecting light transmitted by the light source onto the rear mirror so that the light irregularly varies in intensity, so that a simulated flame effect results from the reflection of the light from the rear mirror onto the diffusing screen. The assembly also has a simulated fuel bed, positioned so that the simulated flames appear to arise from the simulated fuel bed. The flicker element also alternately obscures, partially obscures, and permits light transmitted by the light source to pass to a front reflector so that the light irregularly varies in intensity. The front reflector reflects the light onto the front of the simulated fuel bed so that the simulated fuel bed appears to include glowing embers.

Abstract: A signage display attachment system for mounting a sign to a substrate is disclosed. The signage display attachment system comprises a frame having a pair of vertical sides and a pair of horizontal sides. Each pair comprises a pair of base plates mounted to a substrate and a corresponding pair of tensioning plates having a plurality of recesses thereon. Each of the plurality of recesses is an elongated rounded trench shape. Further, each of the tensioning plates is adapted to mount to the pair of base plates. A securing device is adapted to releaseably hold the tensioning plate to the base plate. An insertion bead mounted to the edge of a sign is adapted to engage one of the plurality of recesses.

Abstract: A portable signpost assembly having a portable base structure and a frangible support post coupled to the portable base structure. The frangible support post includes a plurality of corners, wherein at least one of the corners, when viewed in cross section, includes a notch formed therein that promotes localized fracturing of the frangible support post upon contact from a motor vehicle. This enables the frangible support post to be broken away from the portable base structure upon impact from an errant vehicle to permit the sign and support post to travel over the vehicle without entering the passenger compartment.

Abstract: A backlit display apparatus mounts to an exterior surface, including an automobile, wherein plain paper designs, digital photographs on plain paper or transparencies may be displayed between a white translucent dispersing panel and a clear front panel, with the front panel and the dispersing panel having a weather-proof seal. A high lumen light source, which could consist of a single bulb or a plurality of low lumen light sources, is located behind the dispersing panel, powered by either an internal DC electrical power source, an external DC electrical power source or an external 110 volt AC power source, the high lumen light source having a variable illumination control mechanism to select from a constant illumination, a flashing illumination or a passive illumination, such passive illumination derived from the external power source, including the brake light electrical system or the running light electrical system of an automobile to which the apparatus may be attached.

Abstract: A trailer hitch display apparatus having readily attachable/detachable display panels. Generally comprising a housing, a display panel and a connecting assembly. The housing generally carries a left turn signal, a right turn signal, a left tail light, a right tail light, a brake light, a protective cover and the display panel, wherein the turn signals, the tail lights and the brake light are electrically connected to the wiring of the vehicle to allow another rearwardly traveling vehicle to observe through the trailer hitch display apparatus any traffic signals or tail lights. The connecting assembly comprises a trailer-hitch attaching member dimensioned to be received within the receiving trailer-hitch member of the vehicle. A plurality of throughholes is provided in the trailer-hitch attaching member for inserting a retention pin to secure the two members together.

Abstract: An improved identification holder suitable for use in environments conducive to sign deterioration, and having changing subject applications and particular viewing requirements, and that permits easy insertion, and intentional removal and replacement of a flexible information sheet, while substantially preventing intentional or accidental removal or displacement of the information sheet by either small children and the like or elements such as sleet, hail, wind, rain, and other such elements.

Abstract: An identification band and method for fitting the same to an individual's wrist. The ends of the band overlap when the band is applied around an individual's wrist. The band is constructed so the band can be adjusted to fit different sizes of wrists and allow the end to overlap without requiring that one of the ends be cut to size the band.

Abstract: An elongated shell and internal gripper assembly for gripping and supporting sheet-like posters or pictures for display purposes in a readily exchangeable manner. The assembly comprises an elongated, extruded gripper clip has a planar backing base pivotable distal-most poster receiving edge. The assembly includes an elongated, extruded receiving shell with a gripper clip receiving channel centrally arranged therein and an edge slot at a lowermost portion of the shell members. The gripper clip is slidably received within the receiving channel. The gripper clip has its distalmost receiving edge extending distally beyond the edge slot of the shell to permit display and exchange of a poster or picture therefrom.

Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a portable display is formed of a plurality of assembleable panels, each of panels having a plurality of edge portions secured together with corner connectors to form a rectangular framework. Panelar sheet material extends over two side of the framework and polyurethane foam in injected into the interior space. Panel connector portions, either of the sliding type, or the peg or plug-in type secure the panels together to form the display. In a preferred embodiment, each panel has four corners each with corner components that engage with the edge portions, preferably by insertion into receiving openings in said edge portions. Said corner components having a receptacle exposed at each corner to permit either connection with plug-in components, for example, panel connectors for vertical stacking of panels or accessory brackets.

Abstract: An adjustable mirror frame removably attachable to a computer monitor. The frame has a base attachable to a computer monitor and a mirror frame removably attachable to the base in any one of three positions. The mirror frame may be pivoted about the base to provide a desired picture frame position relative to the base and computer monitor.
