  • Patent number: 10045244
Abstract: A multi-antenna device configured for addressing connection performance issues in UL/DL imbalance scenarios is described. The device may identify a potential UL/DL imbalance scenario and select signal measurements associated with either a primary antenna or a diversity antenna for mobility procedures and/or mobility measurement reporting based on the detected imbalance. In one example, the device may receive a signal at both the primary and a diversity antenna and may identify an imbalance between the primary and diversity signal measurements. The device may then compare the identified imbalance with an imbalance threshold and may select the primary or diversity signal measurement for mobility procedures and/or measurement reporting based at least in part on the comparison. For instance, if the imbalance is greater than the imbalance threshold the device may use the primary signal measurements and may otherwise use the stronger of the primary or diversity signal measurements.

  • Patent number: 10039093
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a control information sending method, receiving method, and device. The control information sending method includes: determining a first subframe of a first radio frame on a first carrier, where the first subframe includes a control region; sending control information in the control region of the first subframe of the first radio frame to a user equipment, where the control information includes a PDCCH; and sending an ePDCCH in a second subframe of the first radio frame to the user equipment. According to the embodiments of the present invention, when control information borne on an ePDCCH cannot be sent in a first radio frame, a PDCCH can still be sent to a user equipment through a control region in a first subframe, thereby achieving purposes of performing uplink/downlink scheduling for the user equipment and downlink feedback for uplink data of the user equipment.

  • Patent number: 10015088
Abstract: Techniques are provided for enabling tag networking. In one example, a network device (e.g., switch, router, etc.) is configured to receive a packet of a traffic flow and to analyze the traffic flow to determine the packet belongs to a particular type of traffic. The network device can then add and/or change a tag in a data field of the packet. The tag, among other things, serves as an identifier for the particular type of traffic flow. The tag is identifiable by a downstream node that is preconfigured to recognize the tag and to carry out logic in response to recognizing the tag. Advantageously, the tag functionality of the present approach provides a generalized way of adding information to packets; the information and the associated functionalities are customizable during a runtime of the network.

  • Patent number: 9998206
Abstract: A plurality of spacecraft may be dispersed into a ring constellation or structure. Data may be wirelessly relayed between spacecraft similar to data flowing in a ring network. The ring structure minimizes inter-spacecraft velocities and tracking angle motion to allow use of fixed high-gain radio frequency (RF) antennas or medium-divergence lasers for crosslinks. Data may flow between spacecraft to be downloaded by the next spacecraft that will be passing over a ground station. This reduces data latency when a single ground station is used, and significantly reduces data latency when more than one ground station is used.

  • Patent number: 9986487
Abstract: A donor base station in a wireless communication network exchanges first user data with a wireless relay using a standard communication throughput. A relay control system in the wireless communication network exchanges data with the wireless relay over the donor base station and the neighboring base station. The relay control system detects Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (ICIC) between the wireless relay and the neighboring base station and in response, the relay control system identifies the donor base station serving the wireless relay and signaling the donor base station of the ICIC between the wireless relay and the neighboring base station. The donor base station receives the signaling and reduces the standard communication throughput of the wireless relay. The donor base station then exchanges second user data with the wireless relay using the reduced communication throughput.
