  • Patent number: 4926958
Abstract: A guide device for an A.G.V. in which a magnetic field generated around a guide cable is detected by a pair of detection coils at both sides of the guide cable, and wheels are steered and driven in accordance with the detected output from the detection coils. A pair of detection coils are arranged to follow the movement of the wheels to be steered in such a manner that the detection coils are disposed away from each other at a predetermined distance from the guide cable when the A.G.V. runs a straight portion of a course, while the detection coils are positioned closer to the guide cable when the A.G.V. runs a curved portion. As a result, when the A.G.V. runs the straight portion, the sensitivity with respect to the deviation between the detection coils is kept low so that the carrier can run smoothly, when the A.G.V. runs a curved portion, the sensitivity with respect to the deviation between the detection coils is increased.

  • Patent number: 4846487
Abstract: A foldable step for a pickup truck end gate or tailgate. The step is formed by a plurality of step rails secured between parallel side bars or frame members. A pair of depending riser arms or links are suspended from a pair of horizontal end gate arms or links to position the step about half-way between a lowered tailgate and the ground. The end gate arms are secured to brackets which are mounted on the interior tailgate surface. A toggle or jack knife linkage extending betewen the step and the riser arms holds the step in a generally horizontal position. The entire assembly may be folded flat to lie against the inner surface of the tailgate, and the assembly is locked in place with a locking clip or strap. The folded step may be folded into and retained in a recess in the inner surface of the endgate.

  • Patent number: 4826183
Abstract: Skate comprises a shoe portion (1) a ground touching device (11) and a transition portion (3) which connects the ground touching device (11) to the shoe portion (1). The shoe portion (1) and the transition portion (3) are made in one piece and form a shell of a sandwich construction with a core (5) made of foam plastic and outer layers (6,7) made of plastic reinforced with glass or carbon fibers. The ground touching device (11) may be a metal section fastened by glue in a downwards opening groove (1) formed in the transition portion (3) and adapted to glide on ice or rollers arranged in the groove and adapted to rotate about respective shafts fastened to the transition portion. There is thus provided a very light skate which renders good support to the foot and has little air resistance.
